I Have A Fiat Punto (2002 In My Case), And I So Gl

I have a Fiat Punto (2002 in my case), and I so glad with it, have a very good performance 130HP in a 1.8 normal aspired (150HP Golf GTi 1.8 helped with turbo), the only bad fact is the local dealer, the local dealer only think in your other brands, (Toyota, Chervrolet) and Fiat/Alfa have very very bad atention.

After Owning A Number Of Small Hot Hatches, I Foun

After owning a number of small hot hatches, I found one of these selling cheap so decided to give the Fiat a go. I had the car two whole days before I part ex it for last of the line Saxo VTS. You may say the Saxos are common, but they're much, much faster and use less fuel. I've always been told Fiats are unreliable and generally rubbish cars. I didn't believe the stereotyping until owning one of these cars. So a word of advice, avoid this at all costs. The 1.8 engine isn't fast, uses too much fuel and overpriced in the insurance department, group 14 common seems more like a group 8 like the Zetec's.

Prefers a French Bean can over an Italian one. Neither car is a hot rod, however the Punto is noticably faster than the Pug.

Picking up on the previous review, the Saxo is a re-made Pug 104 which first appeared in the 80's. Anybody driving one at speed will notice how far modern cars have come on, noise, vibration, poor steering and horrible brakes. At least the Fiat has ABS and twin airbags.

Surprised at the comments as the 1747cc engine gives 130hp and a 0-60 time of around 8secs. Same motor as in several Alfa's and the Barchetta ragtop. Not fast but not exactly slow either and it likes to be revved.

Swapping it for a Saxo is an odd choice... its a re-badged Peugoet 104 and horrible safety record should you bend it. At least its easy to fit a small steering wheel and blue neons on the washer jets...

whoa.... this is an absolute stormer...in Fifth at 80,100,120 pulls like a train..(just for testing purposes of course).A very practical, and sexy little Italian number... with a little whiff of Fiat's glory days.Sounds superb.. with a range of exhaust notes warning that it's no pushover... and it isn't... looks can be deceiving.. not only is this car a design classic already (2002 Mk2 ) it is beautifully understated for the astounding amount of grunt it delivers on tap..

I Have Never Had A Fiat Before And I Was Downgradi

I have never had a fiat before and I was downgrading from a BMW, but the performance of my Fiat Punto 1.8 HGT 16v is surprising - it goes like hell!

It is a very good car and I highly recommend it.

The Shape Of The Fiat Punto 1.8 Hgt 16v Car Is A V

The shape of the Fiat Punto 1.8 HGT 16v car is a very trendy Italian design, bold and wedgie lines screams out it's origin. I have the Italian Azzurri Blue model, which is an awesome color for people who want a color that stands out in the crowd. Mid and rear exhausts were modified with 4 outlets, chrome performance exhausts for better acceleration and sound (it's deep and not noisy like others I have heard). Certainly it looks awesome too. In general, I would recommend this pocket rocket to any performance and economy minded driver and could enjoy driving the car many different ways.

Having Owned Both A 1.4 Turbo Back In 1998 From Ne

Having owned both a 1.4 turbo back in 1998 from new and now an 18 month Fiat Punto 1.8 16v HGT I would rather they left the turbo on and just modified the rest as you miss that rush of power from the turbo. Overall still a good car but I wish Fiat could get rid of the gremlins!

I agree I've owned my Punto HGT for 3 weeks and my wipers judder as well - the handbrake light keeps coming on, my brake fluid level is fine and my handbrake isn't tight - even a garage can't figure out the problem - I think they are very nice cars with a good burst of speed and I would recommend buying one but I agree with your comment - I wish Fiat would get rid of the gremlins - they do spoil the car!
