Well What Can I Say The Punto Is An Amazing Little
well what can i say the punto is an amazing little car anyway but in the right hands can be a fire breathing beast and with go-cart like handling say no more.
after a little over a year i decided to do a little modding i'll admit its costly but worth it so here's what i did..............
stripped down the engine and fully de-coked the lot, and replaced all bearings, gaskets etc.
forged billet steel racing crank, steel polished and balanced light weight short throw con-rods, forged light weight balanced low compression over sized pistons and rebore for the bottom end , also had the block cryo dipped worth every penny improves strength and life by 45% on average.
brand new head, later ported polished and de-gased, oversized valves kent cams pulleys ect, double valve springs, titanium lifters, kevlar racing cam belt these are a must!, various other bits to many to name which was short of my 1650bhp target by 9.64 guted, then came a shallow dry sump with dry oil racing pump system, 13 bar oil cooler, alloy radiator from a coupe 20vt, coupe injectors (blue), 4 branch manifold straight through, mini cooper supercharger kit @ 12psi (bov purely for sound), tailor made ecu system, walbro 355 fuel pump with braided hosing, light weight fly wheel a must with increased low end torque provided from supercharger, amongst other parts to many to list all.
now for the rest of the car sun roof removed and welded, carbon fiber wings bonnet and boot, coupe brembo brakes, gt rear axle for 4 wheel disks, new brake pipes with braided hosing, tein coil overs lowered 60 all round, oz 16' rally wheels wraped in the finest dunlop d1 rubber, front upper and lower struts along with rear, fully seam welded chasis and re-under sealed, iterior stripped bear apart from dash, carbon fiber door cards rear quater panels roof lining, full roll cage, carbon fiber racing seats with 6 point harnesses, poly carb windows, floor mounted peddle set, hydraulic handbrake.
as hard as this hit my pocket it was all worth it she now runs at 252.318bhp, 209.31 ft lb torq, revs round to 14500rpm and launches to 60 in the DRY in just over 4 seconds (4.138), she really is my baby and never sees rain or damp conditions i rarely use her as it a frightening ex. lol (honest it really scary) im currently setting up my own web site for any one who needs info or help with there punto i specialise in mk1 only and and have contact info of some of the best dealers for after market parts at unbeatable prices so all will be revealed in time,
thank you all for reading and good look with your projects dave

The Fiat Punto Sporting 1.6 8v Is A Great Little C
The Fiat Punto Sporting 1.6 8v is a great little car especially in the Rosso Red and it drives beautifully. Ive had a few pocket rockets in my day and the Pug 205 GTI being my favourite but sadly i had to sell when little one came along. But many years later i wanted to look for a replacement and a friend of mine suggested looking at the Punto and boy im pleased . it prob does not have the power my little pug had but the handling is much the same . So i would tell anyone who is looking for a quick and affordable little car you prob could not do much better than this

Got The Fiat Punto Sporting Around 10 Months Ago F
Got the Fiat Punto Sporting around 10 months ago from Auto Trader for £1000. On the way home I got up to 110mph, for this car is quick. Not just in a straight line either
However, at the start of my ownership in Febuary time, on cold days I had problems starting, when it did it was fine, except the electric window motors seized up and the rear wiper jammed. Apart from this I have had countless good times blasting my mates' VW Golf mk4 1.4 into oblivion, that I beleive is the best thing about this car, it can really shift when necesary and it won't kill you too much at the pumps either. I can usually get 45 mpg out of it, but when I'm thrashing it it gives me 35 mpg. I needed to upgrade my brakes all round as they corroded for some reason, so I saw no point in paying for the same kind, but instead I bought myself some nice Brembo X-Drilled discs, with six pot calipers.
This car not only goes well forwards, but now stops well too! At my school everyone is getting 1.2's and some 1.4's, I turn up in my Dark Red 1.6 Sporting with black O.Z's and K + N filter humming away heads do turn. Also if you are at the college stage like me, then be warned this car pulls! Unfortunately though, if anyone says they'll follow you, it won't work as you'll loose them real easy, you won't realise it but each time you come up to a roundabout you'll take off into gaps your mates wouldn't have seen. :)
I am a big fan of this car and would advise to anyone needing a quick, nippy runabout. I recently drove into Switzerland and the car was great, especially through the Alps :) it must be said though, the fuel tank needed increasing by about 20 litres as fuel seemed to go like a drop of a hat and also the seats proved uncomfortable on long periods and the engine seemed intrusive at speeds over 75 mph, as going at full speed, although the car seemed more than capable, it just felt odd, and unrelaxed. I would advise changing the seats and not fitting a bean can exhaust if you consider doing a continental drive.

Fiat Punto Sporting 1.6 8v I've Had M
Fiat Punto Sporting 1.6 8v
I've had my sporting just over a year, and I got it for £1500, so I got a bit of a bargain! I had no problems until 2 weeks ago, when it wouldn't go into gear. Fiat was far too expensive, so I took it to my local garage. It needed a new re-conditioned gearbox £275, new clutch £95, tracking adjusted £35, and two new tyres at £65 each (low profile, high performance, so pricier than normal) due to off tracking. I also had a few problems with the central locking and bit of a leaky sunroof, but I wouldn't change my car for the world! It looks awesome! Even better with a cute little blonde in it!!

My Fiat Punto Sporting 1.6 8v Is Lowered By 60mm O
My Fiat Punto Sporting 1.6 8v is lowered by 60mm on oz super t gt 16" alloys, and it has a full s/s exhaust including de-cat and down pipe from powerflow. It also has a k+n 57i, splitfire ht leads and plugs. The sound is very loud and it is a fast car, and with the uprated shox and springs and toyo proxes tires the car has no understeer or oversteer at all, except in the wet. All these reviews say that they are unnreliable but my car has done 127'000 miles and the only thing that has gone wrong was a hole in the down pipe, I think that if you get a well looked after example then they are very reliable.
