Changed My Opinion
I brought my GTI SE20 as a cheap car to do the 260 mile round trip to work each week,so I wasn't expecting much. (especially as I had dismissed Almeras in the past, as old peoples shopping cars) But after the first drve in it, I was pretty taken aback. It's no Skyline, but the thing that stood out was the handling and the engine once you get it past 3.5K revs. If you keep it in the sweet spot, you can blast along B roads with total confidence. Chain driven SR20DE engine is bomb proof and is very tuneable. Another huge plus point is fuel consumption. My Volvo T5 uses over twice the amount of fuel to do the same trip to work. Am I glad I brought it(for pocket money) Hell yes. These are becoming rare cars now, with about 170 left on the road,so get one while you can.

Excellent Car, Very Reliable And Comfortable To Drive
I've always found Nissan a reliable car, my sister had a micra, I looked at a lot of offers before I bought and so glad I did. The Almeria's really good, very reliable, decent enough for petrol, comfortable drive. Would recommend to others.

Almera Gti Newbie
Just swapped my fiesta 1.8 diesel for one of these cars,F*cK me what a car!!
it handles superb, cant drive it at 30mph sorry officer! easy to do 90mph on motorway without realising and is very comfy and responsive in every gear.
bit thirsty if you peddle it around town but hey,who cares when you are having this much fun!! mate with series 2 RS turbo took the Pi*s until I wiped his bottom from the lights in my \"ugly japanese piece of sh*te\"
If you are thinking of buying one,go for it!! they are so under rated - so cheap to buy and are virtually bomb proof! chain driven not like most 16V hatches (another reason not to buy a 20 year old \"fast RS turboohoo\"
You live once, get on ebay spend £500-700 on the newest, lowest mileage car you can afford, pay the silly insurance premium(group 14) and have a blo*dy good laugh at all the other guys who have shelled out thousands on their \"hot\" hatches!!!!!! see the spoof links on YOUtube from 1997 from The Sweeney and The Professionals, forgot how funny they were in their day!!!

I've Owned My Almera Gti For The Last Two And Half
I've owned my Almera GTi for the last two and half years and I must say, it's been cracking. Completely unmodified and still able to get up to 145mph on a couple occasions. Handling is great but if you're not up for a bumpy ride this isn't the car for you. In and around town, getting up to 30/40/50...no problem. Still fits 4 adults with ease. Problems...none apart from the red paint fading a bit on the roof, but what else would you expect from a 12 year old car!

I ve had the car for only 2 weeks and love it apart from when a tractor crashed into it and wrecked the bonnet, headlight, grille, and the radiator as well shame really coz it was lovely to drive. Now i'm hoping to get it fixed and get back on the road as its a joy to drive. If anyones knows of any parts for sale please could you get back to me on my email which is [email protected] i would be very grateful. Thanks everyone.

I bought my Nissan Almera gti back in 2000 when she was only a year old for just over £9000 and only 5000 miles on the clock. Nine years later it has never broke down , never failed an MOT , servicing regularly and she still runs like a dream. The only trouble a have had is that the starter motor has been replaced twice .

Nissan Almera Gti Is Good Fun To Drive And Is Very
nissan almera gti is good fun to drive and is very under rated in my opinion. had mine for about a year now the only bad point for me is that the power sterring pump has gone twice. but on reading everybody else's reviews on the net, it seems to be a problem only for me. otherwise the car is brilliant and great fun to drive. people say they are heavy on juice but i can get 35 - 40 mpg altho that may be just me driving like an old man of 90.
i got a gti bout a week ago nd its powersteering is making funny noises
