Read Some Of The Negative Comments In The Overall
Read some of the negative comments in the overall review. Some intersting points raised. If your going to drive this car at 45 miles per gallon then you should make sure that the bonet os securely closed.
Lets get back to "Construction and Use" theory. This can was built for a purpose. ie., To run around town and pick up some shopping . Ease of Parking and economical in urban situations.
Its not a a racing car, nor is it a load lugger. Given resonable driving and useage they will last 10 years. Dont expect too much more without body rot. Then again they were not built to last much longer . They are a low cost construction vehicle for what was the modern day family.
What do you want for a few quid ?

I Own A Honda Prelude 2.2 200bhp V-tec Bb4. I Love
I own a Honda Prelude 2.2 200bhp V-tec BB4. I love Hondas due to their incredible reliability and V-tec engines...however, due to running costs and a £660 service due, I have bought myself a 'runabout' until I buy a big car later next year. I flew from Edinburgh to Gatwick then hopped on a train for another 30 miles to reach my destination where a certain little car awaited in a shed - my new rover Metro 1.1s in red with colour coded air intakes and red seatbelts! It took me 9 hours to drive back up to Edinburgh, mainly due to the pouring rain and severe flooding. The Metro (and I cannot believe I ' m saying this) took it in its stride and pushed on! This is my second Metro. My other one was a 'City' and the rear arches fell apart. This one is in ace nick. Love it to bits. It's name is Alfie.
I found this review very helpful because...i to love my 1.1s metro even thought i have a 2.5 v6 grand vitara and a 05 1.4sport seat ibeasa it is still the best need some help finding bigger back box and i have bought mki pepper pot wheels can car be made to fit them many thanks stu

I ' Ve Been Promised A Rover Metro 1.1s Limited Ed
I ' ve been promised a rover metro 1.1s limited edition and cant wait for it to be mine, fantastic looking for a first car and only a limited number so I ' m pretty chuffed. The racing lights on the front look great and the Heinz 57 vinyl ' s and the custom number plates are good too. It seems like the car is light and with a 1.1s engine seems it will be quite nippy, I can ' t wait to get out there and go driving with them, and is it me but the radio seems really loud. I'm going to get a speaker system set up which should be good. The engine has only clocked 5000 miles as well so I ' m hoping it will be in quite a mint condition. Overall a nice British little run around.

I Was Given My Rover Metro As A Present For My Bir
I was given my Rover Metro as a present for my birthday, so far I've put alloy wheels on it, tinted the windows, fancy seat covers, rear speakers in the parcel shelf, new stereo, and this week have just changed from a 1.1 engine to a 1.1 sport engine, after a few teething problems I'm really enjoying it. I haven't finished yet, got some more plans for my metro. But definetly one of the best pressie's ever!

I Brought A 1.1 Rover Metro Rio To Run Around In A
I brought a 1.1 Rover Metro Rio to run around in after my proper car was hit by a dustbin lorry, and I personally think this is the worst car i have ever owned, and i would advise anyone not to buy one not only cos they are an awful car, to drive even after regassing the suspension, but also have you seen what these things look like after a 10 - 15 mph impact.
You'd be safer driving a crisp packet!
I'm going back to VW GOLF's, they may be a bit slow but a least they are safe and do about 400 miles to a tank.

Great Little Car, I Had 40 Mph In First 55 Mph In
Great little car, I had 40 mph in first 55 mph in second a 0-60 of 12 seconds and it handles like its on rails and you can feel the car when its on its border line, so you have lots of warning if the back end is going to swing out, good fuel consumption of about 45-50 mpg when not being thrashed.

If You Buy This Car, Don't Drive It Any Faster Tha
If you buy this car, don't drive it any faster than 15mph!
One of the wheels fell off my Rover Metro. Also, the bonnet popped up and smashed the front windscreen when I was going 45mph
What do you expect for £50?! I would say your Rover Metro did very well, as you say you had it for a year! Most cars of this age would be down the scrap yard years ago!

My Rover Metro 1.1s Is My First Car And What A Car
My Rover Metro 1.1S is my first car and what a car it is! It's a 1993 1.1 3 door and it doesn't half shift. OK, it has a K&N on it and a very large backbox but that's not the point. I bought it for 300 pounds, done a little TLC and my locals are astonished with what it looks like, it doesn't even look like a Metro anymore.
I have debadged it, smoothed the boot out, blacked the windows, colour coded, and stuck some sexy seat covers in it. I get so many questions on what it is. I've had 64mph in second gear and had it off the clock (110mph) on a motorway. I would expect it to go around 114mph and that's with a load of 3 people in it. I have also fitted an awesome sound system. It's an awesome first car and it will stuff any Clio, 106, Punto, Saxo or Fezza.
Buy one, so much cheaper then a new 106/Saxo, etc., and they move a lot quicker, just the safety isn't as good as those, but if you're good enough to pass your test, you won't crash, right?
