Worst Car I Have Ever Owned, Was Bought From Main

Worst car I have ever owned, was bought from main dealer but had problems from the start. The clutches burn out at 25000 onwards and cost £1500 to replace, the electronic hand brake locks on and won't release, usually at rush hour at traffic lights! The egs gearbox, please type this into any search engine for the reviews on this! Even the wheels if you have the steel ones will can only be fitted with Michelin tyres as other tyres have a bead around the rim which spins the wheel trim around ripping the valve out. We had two punctures and one recovery thanks to this! So sold it and bought a Hyundai matrix that never goes wrong! The GP is a good looking car, well designed inside but has serious reliability issues that are expensive to fix.

I Have The 1.6hdi Exclusive, I Find The Egs Extrem

I have the 1.6HDi Exclusive, I find the EGS extremely good, you can fool a biting point if you increase the revs slightly and it will hold it or creep forward, although I think EGS is too slow between gears and some planning is required when overtaking since you may need to manually change down a gear or two even in Automatic mode using the paddle.

There's nothing more scary than booting the throttle and finding the car doesn't respond as it's decided to change down at that point.

Overall though, despite the performance through the gears, I like EGS, which needs to be switched to manual and paddle operation when descending hills if you want to utilise engine braking.

The worst thing about the car is the front mud flaps, they are too low to the ground, and frequently scrape along the surface, I've broken both of them already mainly because they are too low and deliberately made of a brittle plastic, and are for these reasons the worst mud flaps I've ever seen on a car.

The third row of seats is designed for children, but make sure you don't buy a child seat to fit here until you've tried it in the car, since the amount of space is limited for some child seats when fitted in a reclined position.

There's very little space for storage behind the third row of seats when these are in use, so if you're going on holiday with a car full then you'll need one of the roof luggage options or a trailer, and the minimum I was quoted for a tow bar was £450+VAT.

The Michelin Primacy tyres were really good in the recent snow and ice, but possibly only because ESP, ABS, and Traction Control is fitted to the exclusive model, however, the snow played havoc with the rear suspension sensors, which indicated a suspension fault until the snow was cleared from around the rear suspension of the car.

I'm getting an overall average of 51.3mpg from the 1.6, but motorway journeys over the M62 are now averaging 68.8mpg after 6,000 miles, so I expect the overall average to rise.

As An Mpv You Can Only Have Small Children In The

As an MPV you can only have small children in the rear seats which is not practical as they need strapping into car seats. NO BOOT SPACE for a buggy or even your weekly shopping. When seats fold flat there is a good size boot for a family of 5. I would not recommend this to anyone who has 4 children VERY IMPRACTICAL ! ! !

Lovely And Quiet 1.8 Petrol Engine, great Space, Ni

Lovely and quiet 1.8 petrol engine, great space, nice styling.I went for the manual gearbox after ppl criticised the EGS gearbox on the net, Very comfortable ride on short distances, long distances you may need to stretch legs once in a while.

The back seats that fold down to floor are ok for younger children, but not very practical for younger teenagers.

Electronic hand brake sticks especially when putting it in reverse. The dash gets a bit of getting use to as its in the centre of the consol.

The engine is quiet. On uneven surfaces the suspension rolls around a bit, but handling is fine and the steering light. Not a bad car overall.

Whilst The Interior And Exterior Design Is Attract

Whilst the interior and exterior design is attractive on the citreon c4 grand picasso, the EGS gearbox is a nightmare. Without the biting point of a manual system or the "creep" of a full automatic, there is no subtlety of control when maneouvering/parking - just one lurch after another. It's more like drivign a dodgem and is frankly dangerous. The electronic handbrake doesn't help at all and as a result I wish I'd never bought this car. Should have taken a longer test drive...

I found this review very helpful because...It helped me decide to avoid the EGS model and go for the more user friendly Manual gearbox 1.6hdi model as all comments and road tests on this show it to be a very versatile and able performer

An Amazing Family Car, Roomy, Lots Of Storage Spac

An amazing family car, roomy, lots of storage space, futuristic interior and very comfotable seating. Very easy to drive with light controls.

Not the car If driving pleasure, sporty handling is your top priority. If family, practicality, economy and design flare is most important then this is the car for you.

I found this review very helpful because...It helped me decide to go for the 1.6hdi version with manual box. Best model of all according to the many reviews I have read on this. A road test confirmed that all the niggles on the EGS versions were not present on the manual model

Lovely Punchy And Quiet 1.6hdi Diesel Engine, Futu

Lovely punchy and quiet 1.6hdi diesel engine, futuristic and practical cabin, great space, nice styling. Some have criticised the EGS gearbox, but I find it excellent in manual mode. On all but the smoothest roads some noise intrudes from the tyres, especially as the engine is quiet. On uneven surfaces the softish suspension rolls around a bit, but handling is fine and the steering nice and light. Lovely car.

I found this review very helpful because...Confirmed my thoughts on this being and excellent car. Going for the 1.6 hdi to give better fuel consumption with little discernable effect on performance over 2.0 petrol. Manual gearbox also chosen to avoid possible niggles with EGS
