Having chosen the base model offered in the UK, the Citroen C8 2.0 LX has plenty of equipment as standard, such as dual climate control, full set of air bags, and abs etc. What it doesn't have are the electrical goodies that tend to go wrong, such as electric doors, automatic wipers and lights. So as there is much less to go wrong I've only had a few problems in the almost 2 and a half years I've owned the car.
I had to have the front sub-frame bolts tightened, the flap that covers the radio adjusted, the steering adjusted to get the steering wheel straight, and a couple of minor niggles. Other than that it has had one of the ignition coils fail, and the 'aluminium' has peeled off the boot handle.
The car easily copes with my 4 children aged from 19 to 8, and tows my large caravan with ease. It is pleasant to drive, quiet and comfortable. Mine has the 2.0 litre petrol engine, which is refined and able to cruise quite happily fully laden at well over the motorway limit.
I think the secret is to avoid the flashy kit until the likes of electric doors are common place and well proven, and then your are left with a good, practical and comfortable car. It's the best people carrier I've owned, and I've had 5 before this one.
