Zafira Diesel 150 Sri

Don't buy this car if you are not going on long haul drives as lack of use just cost me £5500 for repair as DPF filter and turbo blew up the engine.

NOT A TOWN OR SCHOOL RUN CAR

Mines Broke Again

had mine nearly 4 years, first week i had it egr valve went diezel filter took 2 months to order because they were back logged, then the particular filter and cat went (this has happened 3 times ) cost £1000, per time,, egr valve replaced 3 times, then today the throttle stuck open i took the keys out of the ignition but it didnt stop, resulting in the fire brigade being called and the engine blowing up, so now im stuck with yet another massive bill. according to vauxhall these cars are no good for school runs, start and stop, pity they didnt tell me my wife and the kids when we were at southern vauxhall purchasing it.

My Third Zafira But First Sri

I have owned 3 Zafira's. First one was the 2001 Auto Comfort. That was the fuel drinking machines...then I bought the 2008 Manual Exclusiv...was impress...with the body and style but wasn't happy with 1.6l petrol engine...not good for the family cars like this...than I bought SRI 1.9CDTI and my goodness its a top spec toy shop...I love it...Really Really Enjoy it...Especially when you are on the long journeys...My transfer to 5 speed manual from Auto and from 5 speed to this 6 speed is...amazing experience...

Its a lot faster. The VXline style pack is the key element which attracted me to this car.

This Has Been The First New Car I Have Purchased A

This has been the first new car I have purchased and fancied a motor with a bit of difference so it was the CDTI SRI with body kit, GPS etc.. The engine is great, although I think it would do a bit better if it changed into 4th for a lot of 30mph driving, it takes it no probs when you change into 4th manually.. It is a good ride and nice and roomy. BUT it has had and still having niggling problems. The first was the rear heated window not working, that turned into a big job due to no quality checking at the dealers and required a re visit. The next was the parking sensors this turned into a 3 seperate visits days to the dealers and the other day they did not work at all, turned the engine off restarted and they worked. Another niggle was the autobox not changing into 6th , could do it manually lasted for about 20 miles and started changing ok. The problems all seem to be intermitent which are the worst type, all seem to have some connection with electrics and ECU's, sad but it does put you off and wondering when the next hiccup will occur.

Bought My Zafira Sri 1.9 Cdti 150 Auto With Every

bought my Zafira sri 1.9 cdti 150 auto with every extra pos was very happy until driving it around town clogs up the filters, and starts running lumpy and lacks power, the coil light flashes. Vauxhalls said when the car does this you shouldnt stop driving until the light goes out or it will cause big engine problems.WHAT A JOKE,especialy if you need to be somewhere.Spent a lot of money with running probs with vauxhalls, and guess what, problems with lack of power again,my car has now done 66,000 miles which is not many miles for a diesel,my brothers got a 52 plate 2.0 diesel with 140,000 miles and never had a single running problem, that makes me feel so much better, why did i spend so much money on a car that plays up?

Yes, Vauxhall Motors informed me they don't have any problems with EGR Valves, but I know they do and many other Vauxhall owners also know they have a problem. I had a Zafira 1.9 150 CDTI it had only covered 13,000 miles and it cost me £300 to renew a EGR Valve and I did'nt pay the full price. Maybe Vauxhall Motors know they are onto a winner by this fault because they are causing many motorists having to renew these valves.

I Was Very Impressed With This Car, I Thought It W

I was very impressed with this car, I thought it would be a boring classic family car but it's just not, it's great to drive, looks good, has a good interior and it's very practical.

Some Drivers Find The Standard 225/45/17 Inch Whee

Some drivers find the standard 225/45/17 inch wheels on the firms SRi suspension too hard, bumpy and noisey. Personally I find them (on my own Vauxhall Zafira 1.9 Cdti Sri 150) just about right, although with active suspension (optional extra) they are a bit too firm/bumpy for normal driving - which isn't a problem as I only use this in sport mode for occasional driving. However, the review makes no reflection on the comfort of driving with the uprated 225/40/18. Many drivers will find this very low profile set up, on very large wheels, very uncomfortable and very bumpy. 18inch tyres on lower profile 40 ratio are usually much more noisy than 17 inch with 45 profile rating, although the reviewer strangely mentions he has heard the opposite!

I've Not Had The Vauxhall Zafira For Long, But Wha

I've not had the Vauxhall Zafira for long, but what a fantastic relationship it's been so far!

My last 3 cars have been Vectra Sri's courtesy of the company I work for. The last of the 3 having the 150ps 1.9Cdti engine. Having a girlfriend and 3 growing kids I bit the bullet and went on the hunt for a Zafira to own myself. I have ended up with the most beautiful looking Zafira (I think) I have ever seen. Not many red ones about plus with the XP you get the VXR body kit and 18" 5 spoke alloys with 225/40 tyres.

I've done over 1500 miles in it already and have found it really comfortable to drive. Economy is slowly creeping up now that the engine is loosening up. Last tankful nearly got me 500 miles at about 38 mpg. The 'Sport' switch really makes a difference on throttle and steering response, but this is something kept to myself for myself when I am driving by myself.

The extras I got are very worthwhile. Front and rear parking sensors are fantastic. With the steep bonnet you have no chance of seeing the end and the rear being as it is, it's hard to think of trying to park without them. The Bluetooth kit for the stereo is fantastic, although the cradles you can get for the phone to sit in aren't very up to date. Climate control is great, does what it says on the button. Keyless entry is fab. Especially when doing the dreaded shopping or have your hands full of cleaning equipment. Walk up to the car, pull the door handle, it unlocks (assuming you have the fob in your pocket).

I have had the front windows tinted to match all the rear windows, just gives it that extra finishing touch.

The car handles great and is really quiet inside with very low road noise. I have read somewhere that the 18" wheels are a lot quieter running than the 17". Not sure why! But they are a lot easier to keep clean. Really comfortable sports seats in the front with more adjustments than could possibly be needed. Up down, back forward, lumber this tilt that. Steering rake and height adjustment makes it just about impossible not to be able to get really comfy. The sports suspension makes bumps in the road more pronounced, but then I knew this when I was buying it. I would always substitute that bit of comfort for better handling around the twisty bits.

One thing I'm not sure about is the lack of spare wheel. Not even a token gesture space saver. What I have in the back, behind a panel, is a contraption which contains a compressor, some tubing and a jar of magic fluid that will seal my hole in the tyre if/when I get a puncture and fill my tyre up making it safe to drive on again. Apparently you hook this compressor up to the tube of fluid which you attach to your flat tyres valve. It blows the fluid into the tyre which in turn seals the hole and inflates the tyre. Will my tyre be able to be used again if it's just a nail in and I can have the tyre repaired? Or will this magic fluid render the tyre useless once used? It's a question I need to ask.

Room inside with the Flex 7 Seating is great. The girls (aged 9 and 11) have very different opinions on what is cool. The youngest thinks it's cool to sit in the back and the eldest think sit's cool to sit in the middle row with the middle seat folded down exposing cup holders, pockets for pens and dozens of things an 11 year old girl finds necessary to take with her everywhere. My 4 year old is happy sat next to the window in his seat enjoying a better view of the world having a slightly higher position than in the previous cars.

It's fast enough. Obviously not as quick as the VXR but quick enough. I think that the 120ps engine would struggle a bit. I have done a bit of a test on speed. 80 mph in top is about 2500rpm I took it up to 3500rpm and was cruising at 115mph. There was plenty left but I wasn't going to rev it too hard whilst I am still taking care nurturing the engine whilst still fairly new.

I can't stop going on about how much I love the look of this car. I have see others in other colours but I think the red is fantastic and looks very sporty.

Nice review........however........The front windows are not tinted like the back ones for a reason.....Safety. If you are involved in an accident with another vehicle / motorbike / cyclist, the Police will take a very dim (sorry :-), view of this, irrespective of wheteher you were resonsible or not for the accident. You will also have to replace the windows / remove film

I have a 1.9 CDTi Elite 150 Diesel Automatic. Local driving gives me about 30 mpg. Is this reasonable or is there anything I can do to improve it?
