Really Nice 4x4 At Half The Price Of Most
Was looking to replace my old 17 year old jeep grand cherokee 4.0 petrol after it failed the MOT and was going to cost more than the car was worth to get back on the road plus the fuel consumption of the old beast was a shocking 17 mpg
As much as I loved my Jeep and was actually quite sad to see her go I started looking around a other 4x4 , i was not a great fan if the new shape cherokee as I thought it had lost it outdoorsy type look and I am not really a range rover type of person ... However nice they are
So I went on autotrader and scrolled through for a good few hours of all the types of 4x4 in my price range that's when I found a little gem called the hyundai tucson
The one I managed to find ( through a company called credit car sales based in essex ) is a 2.0 diesel auto called the CDX CDRT
It returns a pretty good 32mpg which for someone who drove a 4.0 petrol i was pretty happy , the model i have a ton of extrasl leather seats , electric mirrors , heated seats , electric sunroof , tow bar , side steps , climate control , cruise control , 4x4 button which is handy as most of the time I am driving on normal road surfaces
It's a pretty smooth drive the only criticism that I have is the auto gear boxes not as responsive as it could be needing a bit of time to kick into what fear you want when you put your foot down to join a motorway etc
That being said for cruising along its a really nice car
Not very popular in the UK with people opting for he slightly bigger Santa Fe but I was not keen on the odd front stylimg of that the tucson is in my opinion a lot more modern looking
Since been replaced by the IX35 which in a couple of years time I might take a serious look at one of those
Overlall pretty impressed by the hyundai it has won me over

Having Owned This Hyundai Tucson 2.0 Crtd Cdx From
Having owned this Hyundai Tucson 2.0 CRTD CDX from new I have always been pleased with the way the vehicle feels - it likes being driven and the only problem I have had was a windscreen wiper motor that failed shortly after delivery.
The big problem was fuel consumption, but all early owners got together and Hyundai produced a package that resolved the issues raised.
Consumption of my Tucson is 34mpg overall types of driving so I am pleased with that result for a 4x4 SUV.
