Awesome Truck For The Money. I Bought My Dodge Da
Awesome truck for the money. I bought my Dodge Dakota Regular Cab Sport 4 Cylinder Truck new in October of 2000 for $10,899 during a special promotion Dodge was having. It is a 5-speed, and the only option is air, though I have since added a number of after-market items such as a grill guard, driving lights, R/T wheel flares, a bed cover, body side moldings, striping, sun roof and a high performance exhaust. The 4 cylinder provides adequate but far from spirited performance. The fuel mileage has been a consistent 23 mpg in city driving, which is worth some sacrifice in stop-light grand-standing. I get lots of positive comments about the truck's looks. The Sport is a beautiful truck, and the body color grill and bumpers on the 2001 model make it especially good-looking. I have had not one problem with the truck in the 4 and 1/2 years I have owned it. It is used for light hauling and camping, and serves those functions flawlessly.
Unfortunately Dodge has unwisely discontinued both the 4 cylinder engine and the regular cab, so I will be going back to Ford for my next small truck.
