2007 '57' Renault Trafic 115 Dci

I bought this van when it was just over 3 years old with 50000 miles on the clock and have run it for the past 14 months ,during which time i've covered 22000 miles. It is a very comfortable van to drive and reasonable mpg (37 on average) ,that's where the good points end though. I tow a trailer on a fairly regular basis ,nothing drastic a twin axle ifor williams with no more than half a ton on it ,well loaded - i am now on my fifth pair of front tyres ,i've also fitted assistor springs to the rear end but this has made only a slight difference to the wheelspin problems ,so thats been around £1000 on tyres. Small repairs have run to around another £1000 during my ownership - very soft track rod ends and ball joints + numerous other small problems. After experiencing two different fault codes from a lack of power and a missfire once running at speed - It's currently in the local renault garage where it's been diagnosed as needing an air flow sensor and they have recommended replacing all the fuel injectors also ,they are quoting approx £2000 for this .

I've owned a lot of different vans over the years and this has been by far the most expensive to keep on the road - its soft as chocolate. My last van was an 02 Transit 125 that had 130000 miles on the clock when i bought it ,i ran it for 2 years and put another 30000 miles on the clock ,the cost ? One back tyre. I rest my case.

In my opinion - save your money. My next van will be another transit.

Renault Traffic 1.9 Dci Lwb

I purchased this van from new 2005, from day one I had problems with the fuel system causing the vehicle to cut out on several occasions. By the time I had my day in court with renalt finance the vehicle had to have breakdown assistance 11 times in a 18 month period. Amongst the many problems experienced, major brake failure was the worst, almost causing a fatal accident. I found the main dealers to be very expensive and not very helpful. The Customer Service helpline was also appauling, they would not take responsibility for any of the issues raised. All in all a terrible experience not to be repeated (I hope), I will never buy Renault again.

Good Size Van, Useful Power, Nice To Drive But Let

Good size van, useful power, nice to drive but let down by French build quality and materials. No wonder the fleet operators get rid at auction just before 3 year point. Will not buy another one, trying VW next.

Hi! Bought a Renault Trafic six months ago. It then had 160000km on the meter and the previous owner replaced the gearbox at 120000km. At 185000km this new gearbox broke down and the Trafic had to get a new gearbox again! For me it is extremely strange that manufacturers as Renault and Opel/Vauxhall and now even Nissan can embarras themselves selling a car with a gearbox that is just not good enough. Never another Trafic for me.
