Terrible
Have owed vivaros for 15 years and the latest model is a shocker. Have covered 18000 miles and it has had engine repair light on four times, oil contamination, ad blue issues etc. Has been recalled on emissions but but engine repair light / limp home mode again today. Every time dealer can’t look at it for about two weeks, be warned don’t buy this piece of rubbish. Also not half the van the previous model was, no storage and mirrors with huge blind spots, really ?

Cheap Load Of Rubbish
I had a 2011 vivaro for 3 years and it was brilliant except it did eat brake pads very quick but other than that excellent. But now i have 2017 model and where do i start it has 100 miles on the clock and it smokes badly when sitting in traffic the engine service light is on all the time the side door handle has fallen off the cabin is rubbish uncomfortable and badly designed if it was for the fact its a company vehicle i would give it back to vauxhall and tell them to stick where the sun don't shine don't buy one

Avoid Like The Plague
Bought the van two months ago after searching for a low mileage shiny one 48000 miler. Parked it up two weeks ago all running fine. Went to start it in the morning and it coufed and spluttered and the engine management light came on. Two weeks later three mechanics an auto electrian a recovery truck and loads of money it's still not running and know one knows what's wrong. I've spoken to loads of guys in the game and everybody hates them. Do your homework and read all the complaints. Vauxhall, Renault and Nissan you should be ashamed. If you want a van to put you out of business, stop you paying your mortgage and starve, Buy a Vivaro! Like me
throttle flap.put ya fingers in and move it up and down a few times.start ya van pumping throttle till it starts.then get a new one later

Do Not Buy! Worst Quality! Bad Service.
The worst quality van out there! Door gandles keep falling off and build quality is terrible. It has been in 4 times in 2 months since I have had it. It will not start and Vauxhall don't know what to do. The garage I took it to is Marshalls Vauxhaul Knebworth. They are about as usefull as chocolate teapot. The van has intermittant starting issues. Basically is a piece of &^"£%&^% and the engine is also so uselessly slow. Trust me when I say it wont last 50K miles.

476k And Still Going.
Can't recommend enough. Cheap to run. Reliable and economical.
A basic van but how many out there have had over 400k out of theirs? No major problems new transmission at 300K. All in all a great buy . Just going to buy the same again when this one eventually dies. Still running very well at the time ofthis review.
Please don’t buy the new model they are awful, read other views on here
IF ID TAKEN NOTICE OF PEOPLE IVE NEVER MET ON THE INTERNET ID HAVE AVOIDED THIS VAN AND OTHER GREAT VEHICLES.
THE VIVARO FROM MY 3 YEARS OWNERSHIP AS A CARPENTER HAS BEEN 100% RELIABLE, IVE NEVER BEEN OFF WORK BECAUSE OF THIS VAN.
ITS COMFY, IT IS PRACTICAL ENOUGH FOR MY NEEDS.
IT LOOKS GREAT AND I LOOK FORWARD TO EVERY DRIVE.
MINE IS NOW APPROACHING 9 YRS OLD AND HAS NO RUST, STILL GLEAMING IN WHITE, LOVE IT TO BITS.
MAKE YOUR OWN MIND UP..
Read a vw van review, costs more looks like a lot less van and will cost as much to look after long term....

Words Can't Describe How Pants These Vans Are
I think it would be easier to describe what works with this van ! Just over two years old only done 22500 mls it's in vauxhalls now as I wright this getting the rear crank seal fly wheel & clutch replaced the injectors throttle pedal new radiator strut top Bering new arm rest new aircon rad electrical fault on dash lights & speedo drivers side door adjusted new drive shaft gator leaking power steering ! So if u are looking to buy one of these vehicles as a company vehicle think again , the one & only Vauxhall I have ever owned & ever will. Paid £ 21500 + vat in 2011 been getting offers of around £8000 + vat for it might snap there hands off ! Just wish I would of known about the appalling customer service & workmanship before can't do enough for you when you're buying the vehicle & that's where it ends

Nice Drive Awful Build Quality
I had my 1.9cdti 5 years and to be fair it has been quite good needed a MAF unit, wheel bearing, anti roll bar rubbers and 2 track road ends over 30000 miles. Would I buy another? No I would get a VW transporter the vivaro is poorly made and feels worn out at 135000 miles.
im thinking of getting a new vivaro.im moving away from transporter.had a new one 57 plate only done 55000 miles.full vw service history.started making a whining noise and have been told my vw that a bearing is going in the gearbox.after a vw contribution i will ONLY have to pay £1100 to get it repaired,i also spoke to a gearbox specialist who reckons he has repaired a fair few,i was about to upgrade to a 4motion but they can get stuffed

Engine Failure
i have bought a vivaro 2.0 cdti 2900 its now 3 years old and done 42000 miles. however the timing chain has slipped and knackered the engine. vauxhall are renewing the engine under warranty which apparently i should be grateful for!..and its taken 3 weeks to find fault before ordering new engine and will taken another 3 weeks before it arrives and then have to fit it. guess what I'm now transportless which is affecting my business and they wont help with costs for temporary replacement avoid vauxhall vans like the plague.

Vauxhall Vivaro 2.0cdti Sportive
I had this van from new in march 2012, now done 28000 miles. Frankly can't wait to get rid of it. It's a shame really it looks nice and is nice to drive but for me lots of stupid design faults, you get a sense that this van's design stage nobody asked for impute from everyday users. You see lots of Vivaro's with damage on the side simple reason is the mirrors have got to be the the worst "Design" ever for two reasons (1) The split between the upper mirror and lower blind spot mirror mean you can't see the lower side of the van and then the difference in focal point makes things seem further away. (2) Even with the windows down you have to look through the fixed glass panel. I've previously had a LWB T4 & SWB T5 buy comparison the Vivaro's feels like a barge when turning in tight situations parking in the same spot on the drive felt much more difficult compared to previous vans. I've been back to vauxhall from 1500 miles with gearbox noise they say it's normal and a "caricturistic" my local gearbox specialist had a listen and I asked him if he would be happy if a gearbox he had rebuilt sounded like that "would he be happy", his answer no! at low speed the backlash and chatter is awful, you can hear it at higher speeds when navigating roundabouts ect but during normal driving its ok. Then it's minor things the radio turns off after two minutes unless you keep the the ignition on fully but the fan will run continuously on aux position after the radio has switched of interior lighting goes of after 5 minutes no good when your sorting out you're junk, if the side door switch gets wet the alarm goes of during the night, the remote locking doesn't work from behind the van, instrument lights randomly go off, trip computer display randomly shows extra lines, arm rest rachet failure, the list goes on some things get fixed then return. Just seems trouble waiting to happen till after the warranty has expired.

Looks Great Drives Fantastic
Hi.
Purchased a new Vauxhall vivaro sportive swb 2700 in mid june. Its in steel grey. Looks great drives great. Very comfortable and good on fuel.
Replaces a Mercedes vito 110 Cdi. Had that from new and that turned into a rust bucket. We'll see how time fares!
Q&A
Van won't start, all the ignition lights come on but it won't turn over. Will not start with a battery booster pack, but will fire up with a push. What could be the problem?
