With The 2011 Rebate, This Bike Is Priced Right. T

With the 2011 rebate, this bike is priced right. The CBR1000RR isn't the fastest track bike in the liter class, but it is the best street bike - and I've actually ridden the competition. The brakes are excellent, the chassis is killer, the fit and finish exceeds other manufacturer's offerings. It is light, nimble and stable.

There are some recall concerns on older models (burning oil) and ABS versions (electrical gremlins). I avoided the ABS for this reason, though I have it on other motorcycles. So far, my CBR does not burn oil. I believe this was fixed in 2009. Do your research.

That said, I still find this the sweetest handling ride in my nine-bike garage. It's plenty fast and actually makes me a better rider. I recommend it.

My First Superbike. Nothing Touches It In My Exper

My first superbike. Nothing touches it in my experience. Except maybe the 2009 model about which I've heard such good things but unfortunately have yet to ride. I will.

I'm v-e-r-y old and the Honda CBR1000RR FireBlade defies reason.

Hi I Just Bought A Near Mint Condition 2005 Honda

Hi I just bought a near mint condition 2005 Honda CBR1000RR FireBlade in try colours and absoluitly astounding.

I traded in a 1998 R reg blade (918cc) for it and the difference is a world apart.

I had an old H reg Kawasaki zzr1100 with a complete engine re-build before that and there was'nt mutch that could beat it for power in a straight line but was a very heavey bike. The 2005 blade gives the same kind of mind blowing performance but with ouright handling and way better brackes.

I hav'nt tryed a power commander or performance exhaust yet so this is all in standard trim. I have heard lots of stories about GSXR's and ZX 10's being a bit faster, I don't know how true that is but you would have to be a bit loony to go faster on A roads than the blade already delivers.

I am about to go on a France tour for 5 days starting May 3rd, I will let you all know how the blade got on afterwards.! !

The Honda Cbr1000rr Fireblade Is A Great Bike! Qui

The Honda CBR1000RR FireBlade is a great bike! quick, sleek, and very fuel efficient, foot pegs a little high up on the bike. making it harder to find comfortability on those longer rides.

The honda has always been a great first bike. maybe not the 1000 due to high power, but maybe a 750 at the most. I have the 2009 honda cbr 1000 and couldnt be more happy.

This Is My Third Blade-started On A 954, Moved On

This is my third blade-started on a 954, moved on to a Repsol 05, currently on a 07 blade-all superb bikes. Test rode the 08 model which is truly a brilliant machine with the exception of that front end-I wouldn ' t consider other makes now after a few bad experiences-im afraid its Honda all the way now.

The Honda Fireblade Is The Best Handling Bike I Ha

The Honda Fireblade is the best handling bike I have ever been on. It has a good response when riding and glides down the roads at all speeds. I baby my bike for the most part but every once in a while I pull it up and ride one down the road. It is easy to do and I could see why a lot of stunt riders would like it. Handles good with a passenger and one of the best looking bikes of the 1000cc class.

If I could go back and choose over again between all the bikes I wouldn't leave with anything else but the Honda. Honda has really made a great looking and performing bike since the whole fireblade line came about. I am glad to have had a chance to not only ride one but own one of the greatest sport bikes ever made.

Well I Have To Say For The Handling Of The Blade I

Well I have to say for the handling of the blade it is top of its class but as for the rest Honda needs to put a bit of time into it to get it just right. Low down power delivery is a bit jumpy which can be cured by doing the air flapper bypass (makes a really good difference). The power is ok but a bit tame for my liking, power commander pipe and filter does spice it up a bit but still loads of room for improvement. the electronic steering damper is a really good idea but I would like to try one with a manual damper to see the difference as I have had a couple of high speed tankslappers coming off jumps (that did even out fast enough). Finishing needs some work, the screws seem very cheep build, prone to salt damage no matter how well you clean them. Heat shields could have been better designed as they are bulky looking and the rear brake reservoir is badly placed (fixed by cutting the pipe and installing a 15cc brembo res). Suspension in its standard settings is way too hard (well for Ireland anyway), everything needs backed off just slightly especially the rear preload. the tank needs a better finish as it suffers for getting rub marks off your leathers, I got mine lacquered which helped. engine wise I have to say good but drinks way too much oil, not used to having to top up the oil so much (never had to on my gsxr) and the battery needs an optimize or it will start to lose the charge now and again. Ride mine all year round and it still started to go after a year an a half (dealer says this is normal. So moral of the story is fix these problems and you have a top class bike.

I found this review very helpful because... i have got exactly the same bike and i have all the same problems..... i personally enjoy wheelies but wen i got this bike a 2005 1000rr5 it struggled to get up on power in second.... after talking alot i found that going 1down on the front made all the differance... i am now concidering a power commander which i am told will iron out that low end splutter.....very common i am being told.....

My Honda Fireblade Is A 2007 Model. Fantastic Bike

My Honda Fireblade is a 2007 model. Fantastic bike. I've been riding 35 years and there's nothing to touch this machine. Its got everything, performance, great looks, (especially the tri colour version), is totally reliable and can be surprisingly economical too.

Superb chassis, class leading build quality, wonderful growling noise from the airbox. For me, at around 10000 miles a year, this is the perfect bike.

Q&A

fen1974

I just got my first blade and she's mint. I've been out for a couple of rides now and just started to hear a clicking noise at low revs. But only when in gear and only up to 4000rpm then goes. Please can anyone tell me if this is normal or bad? Thanks.
