hi my battery gauge on my piaggo skipper 125 is going over 16 and knocking the lights off when u stop it goes back down and lights work etc but now i was out on it yesterday and the scooter is not reving like it should revs if you hold it on slightly but if u put full revs on it stops reving then starts again iv been told its the regulator but could this effect the reving i no its doing that to the lights and the gauge but didnt think it would effect revs.

Nice Looking Bike With The Wind Shield On The Fron
Nice looking bike with the wind shield on the front, strong 4 stroke engine which will run and run and run. Only thing is you don't get that thrill when you pull the throttle back. A bit slow off the start and i'v found that my 2 stroke 50cc was quicker off the start. The bike is nice to ride on flat long stretches and reaches 60mph, can't seem 2 get much more out of it than that.. and it has a sport exhaust on! Personally i would stick to 2 strokes as they accellerate a lot quicker but if your after good fuel consumption this is a good bike. Getting to the spark plug is a pain and taking the pannels off is also. i found that the piaggio typhoon is a lot better for getting to parts etc but there again its an uglier bike! Stil a good bike tho and holds its value, seat is extremely comfortable and also passengers are comfortable on the back

Good Points: Light At Only 108 Kg's
GOOD POINTS:
light at only 108 kg's
BAD POINTS:
small fuel tank
getting to sparkplug a bit fiddley
Seats abit high at 810mm
On the whole a great little scooter mines the 125st with matching topcase which is great if you have a pillion and need to stow away two helmets, you can just about get one under the seat.
I've found the fuel consumption to be around 65-75mpg thats just riding through town and not flat out, my only small gripe with the bike is it'ill only take just over a gallon to fill meaning every 80 miles your back at the petrol station!
Top speeds about 65mph and about 55 with a pillion, twos up the bikes still pritty responsive and the back padding on the topcase is a nice touch for your pillion.
I'm 5'6" and have found the seat is a little on the tall side when you do have to stop at lights etc, but then so was the gilera 180 I had before.
I would recommend this scooter but would just say don't expect to be pinned back in your seat when you twist your hand back, just sit back and enjoy the ride while your filtering between all them cars!

I've Only Had The Piaggio Skipper St For A Short W
I've only had the Piaggio Skipper ST for a short while, so can't comment too much on the reliability, but so far I'm really pleased with it!
This is my first scooter (having owned motorcycles previously) and I'm loving the twist-&-go lifestyle thus far!
I love the style of it (I have the blue ST 125cc with the matched top box) and the big fat tyres are great for cornering. Brakes are good (if a little wooden at the back), and the 4-stroke engine is strong, but it's obviously not as quick as a 2-stroke!
There's loads of storage space (but my Caberg Flip lid dosesn't fit under the seat!) and the top box is awesome! Weather/wind protection is great and it's a large scooter, so fits my 6-foot frame very well.
The 'dashboard' is fantastic, with a fuel gauge, clock, day/date and ambient temperature readout, along with all the other usual stuff. These are all really handy and I think Piaggio thought this scooter out really well for the commuter.
The lights are on all the time as default, so you'll not forget to switch them on! There's also a xenon headlamp unit, which is bright and gives a good beam.
Overall, an awesome machine and I'm very pleased with it, and would definitely recommend it to anyone doing a regular short/medium commute
(I do a 40 mile round trip and it's just perfect). However, on longer journeys, beware of a numb backside! I think it's returning 70+ mpg at the moment, but I've not properly worked it out yet.
Not had it serviced yet, so not sure of costs/intervals, but I'm looking into it. Speed-wise, it's obviously not a racing machine, but you'll leave cars standing at the lights! I've had it up to 55mph so far and I think there's still a bit left in it, but I bought it for cheap commuting and getting through traffic, not racing down A-roads!
I certainly wouldn't take it on the motorway, so I plan my journeys around the main roads (I have a car for longer journeys).
If you're considering a sensible commuter, then this is a safe bet and a great buy! I got mine for £850 with only 3000 miles on the clock! Shop around and get yourself a bargain!

Mine Is A 2004 Model 150cc. Good Size, Not A Maxi
Mine is a 2004 model 150cc. Good size, not a maxi but longer wheelbase and larger wheels than a Vespa LX150 while having the same mechanicals.
Reasonable unseat storage and another small lockup glove compartment between feet. I bought it as old stock, unused early in 2006 and have done 11,000km on it in nearly two years.
Mostly motorway commuting. Only problem was a leak in rear hub seal which made the rear brake useless at 7000km. I replaced the seal and rear brake shoes and now it is fine. It is a great commuter and I have had it up to 120kph once - it will cruise at 100-105kph easily.
I have a larger cylinder 190cc and a gear up kit for better motorway cruising but haven't got round to having them fitted which suggests maybe I don't need them!
