I Bought A Brand New Xevo 400 After Owning It's Pr

I bought a brand new Xevo 400 after owning it's predecessor the excellent X8 400 for nearly 2 years. The XEvo is a restyled and updated version of the X8 and IMO is a good improvement on an already very good scooter.

I've owned my XEvo 400 for only 3 months but have already clocked up 1600 miles of mostly commuting and a few pleasure trips. Please see my review of the X8 for my general thoughts on this machine as the two are very similar.

The XEvo 4000 takes the same excellent engine and chassis and running gear as the X8 400 and just adds a prettier front end (if you like the beaky front mudguard which I do now I've grown used to it) and a much improved dashboard configuration with LCD digital display and rev counter.

Other changes over the X8 are the addition of a rear pillion backrest, an improvement to the style and comfort of the seat and the movement of the speedo sensor from the front wheel to the rear wheel which should mean it's less likely to be damaged when the wheels are removed for tyre changes.

The XEvo 400 is a fantastic riders machine, it handles very well for a traditional scooter set up (engine on the swing arm) it's capable of both touring and commuting in heavy traffic, it's big enough to be noticible and comfortable and have good storage but it's not too big so that it's unwieldy in traffic.

So far reliability of the Piaggio 400's seems to be very good. I had no real problems with my X8 and so far the XEvo has been trouble free too. I hope it stays that way.
