Great Lttle Scooter
At 67 years old I have ridden virtually most of the British made motorcycles, and quiet a few Japanese and German bikes too. Last German bike was a BMW K75RT. However I bought this 200cc Burgman UH 200, with only 2,000. miles on the clock from a local dealer. Its amazing.. Its quick and responsive, twist and go, reliable, has excellent brakes, superb on cornering, excellent road grip, good lights and instrumentation, and light and easy to maneuver. It is well designed, has an easy to fuel lockable tank in the foot running boards.Costs about £17 to fill up with fuel. I live in a rural area and use it on a twenty mile journey to work and back, along a busy main A road. It keeps up easily with traffic and has enough acceleration for overtakes. It has a top speed of 5mph above the legal motorway limit. It is very quiet and smooth. So far I have done 400 miles on it and it has been absolutely perfect. I do not carry a pillion, my Wife will not go on it, and one of the really good things is the lockable under seat boot, which will easily hold two crash helmets and is ideal for small shopping. If you want a big tourer this won't do, go for the big Burgman. But as a country or town run around it is great and as a bonus it is light and easy to push in and out of my garage. I can highly recommend this little scooter.

Commuter Scooter Supreme - So Far
Purchased this new as a money saving project - less dosh for petrol + no congestion charge equals big savings, even after taking off monthly finance costs (only 4% over 3 years).
Have had many bikes over my 60+ years but none as comfortable and suited for purpose as this (though my Yamaha Fazer 600 and Gilera SP180 Runner came close).
Averaging well over 80mpg at present but early days yet.
Bit cramped for my 5' 11" frame (I'm already thinking ahead to a 400 Burgman) but loving this scooter.
Can't wait for the Olympic lanes to come into force in London so I can really show off!!
It's a pleasure to ride and look at and the storage space makes it uber practical.
GET ONE!
In comparison to the Yamaha tmax250 I wonder which is the most economical?

Suzuki Burgman Uh200 - 2008
I bought this bike second hand (18 months old) with 900 miles on the clock I have covered over 20,000 miles on this bike. It is very reliable and has not let me down. Large storage area under seat, comfortable to ride, light enough to weave through traffic and can cruise at 60-70MPH on the few open roads on my daily I commute to London (56 miles a day). Gripes would be that servicing comes around too often at 3000 Miles, rear tyres last about 5000 miles, disc pads about 6000 miles. I have had 3/4 different makes of rear tyre, SAVA was the worst and AVON the best. Bike tends to lose grip in the wet more so than other scooters which seem to wizz past me at the traffic lights on wet roads. In my view a good bike, though next time I would look for something with longer service intervals if that is possible? as I do over 1000 miles a month and use the bike all year.

Suzuki Uh200 Is A Good Scoot
plenty of acceleration for a 200 cleanly up to 70mph, i have seen nearly 90mph on my dials on a straight road with little wind. the screens a bit small for my frame, and i do drag down perfomance in the wind, considering a Givi screen upgrade. Corners well enough, but being a knee down Aprilia RSV rider i expect to get my knee down, but the foot stand hits the road regular, and i still reckon it'll go down further safely. the handling is predicable, but what is better it can be safley redirected. Also allows some modifications to the rear shocks for confort or swiften the ride. MPG is good, i am certainly getting about 77mpg even with fairly brisk riding. great space for 2 helmets. Generally its an easy buy, as you cant get it that wrong, the only negative side is the leg room and screen hieght, would suit smaller riders ie ladies and shorter men, i am about 5'11". Would i buy another, sure i would, but i would probalby go for the 400 next time.
I'm 5 foot 6 and the screen is even worse for me! it seams to aim all the wind flow into my face evan at 30mph, lookin for taller screens myself as my honda pantheon was better set out with more leg room to,

Having Had A 125 Burgman Before I Wanted The Same
Having had a 125 Burgman before I wanted the same machine but with more power so the 200 was considered ideal.
I have to say how pleased I am with the performance overall, the 125 would hold 60mph on the motorway & with a little effort would just touch 70mph under ideal conditions.
The 200 however gallops up to 70mph with ease & will maintain that speed as long as required, top speed is around 85mph (indicated)a fair performance with a 15 stone 6 foot frame sitting on it.
Comfort is good but would suit shorter folk better, braking & handling are very good.
Just one problem so far which was a battery which gave up the ghost after just 13 months 4000 miles.
Overall a good buy & worth paying the extra over the 125 version, it is only a couple of pounds heavier but feels twice as powerful as smaller brother.
The underseat lighting could of possibly killed your battery?
If the seat isn't fully locked or there is a fault with the on/off switch then the light will stay on.
Hence why it's a good idea to remove the bulbs on maxi scooters.

Two Or Three Months Ago, I Part-exchanged My Bandi
Two or three months ago, I part-exchanged my Bandit in for a Suzuki Burgman 200, mainly because I'm pushing 70, and needed something more practical: comfort, storage space etc. It might seem like going from the sublime to the ridiculous but I'm delighted with the Burgman. I passed my motorcycle test in 1957, and have owned a considerable number of bikes and scooters over the years, including an R100. I can't wait to get out on the Burgman, and am sorry when my trips end . It cruises quite happily at 60 mph, and I have done several 70 mile runs without any feeling of discomfort. I keep wondering: if the 200 is as good as this, what about the 400?

I Bought The Suzuki Burgman 200 (new) In March 200
I bought the Suzuki Burgman 200 (new) in March 2008 and I almost use it every day to drive to work. It always starts and it has never let me down so far. It has got 3000 km on the clock. As it is not as large as a 400 or even a 650 it's very useful in cities.
A higher screen is available from Suzuki which would cut down wind noise and buffeting for the rider, though would slightly reduce top speed as well.
Q&A
Does anyone know how to reset the yellow oil change light on the dash of my 2008 200cc Burgman?
