I recently made a purchase to Rocky Cameras and never received the goods. Fortunately the money isn’t paid until the item has been posted. I emailed, phoned numerous times but had no reply. Why on earth is this person still allowed to trade. Seems to have been going on for years. Just check the reviews on lining. Avoid at all costs.

Met Rocky at the Lymington Market today. He was as genuine and reliable a salesperson as I’ve ever met.

His product quality & knowledge was first rate.

He went through a medical ordeal & it’s a miracle he survived.

If there was bad service, it’s because of the multiple surgeries & treatments he’s been through.

But I guarantee all his services were in good faith, even if they weren’t timely.

He typically takes your money and then does not supply anything; if any goods are supplied then they are invariably in fast worse condition than described.

Bought a movie camera described as '... a working item, shutter firing correctly.' On arrival found the ratchet system on the clockwork windup mechanism was broken and the cog teeth were ripped backwards so the camera couldn't be wound up so the shutter couldn't be fired. From the patina on the damaged teeth this damage was done some time before the product description so it was not a mistake. As per the rest of the reviews, no email reply.

I sent a link to this and other consumer review sites to the person I dealt with, who administrate Rocky Camera's transactions. I am done with being ignored, fobbed off with pointless excuses and the general stress of dealing with this firm. I got a refund/am getting a refund, but only after an arduous to and fro between the owner, the person I dealt with and my credit card company. Needless to say the lens I wanted didn't show up; his blaming of Royal Mail is inexcusable. But on the other hand the Bolex I found there is immaculate and it turned up on time and in perfect condition as described; so I wonder why these wild discrepancies in his dealings with customers, why the poor excuses, why the negativity and deliberate stress of it all. If you are going to use this company then buyer beware, the goods may not show up, he might lie about shipping them or you might get the camera or photographic equipment you paid for. In light of this, it is a game of chance and simply, given other firms' ability to create stress-free shopping experiences (shipped on time, packaged well, described well and with customer service follow up) why take the risk?

Ordered 5 items:

- 2 were ok

- 2 were vaguely related to the items ordered, but different brands, different specifications: useless for a collector

- 1 was missing all together

After complaining:

E-mail was acknowledged, but requests for replacement or refund were ignored. 

The person who operates this side does not care.

Gives a bad name to the UK.

I've bought several items from Rocky Cameras over the years without any problem. My last transaction was for a 70€ item... Never received, the tracking number never worked, royal mail never heard about it and after a lot of unsuccessfull emails and phone calls, i think I 'll never see my money back or the item.

I've decided to make a complaint to the ECC 

If you have experienced the same issues with this business as a lot of peoples reviewed on the internet do the same thing to make it stop !

Just terrible, cameras and lenses delivered with numerous faults including fungus and broken shutters. No communication whatsoever, claim now being made through Visa. Would suggest avoiding this seller.

Beware, never received the item! Seller not ensponded!

I agree: Absolutely avoid Rocky. Two orders, two payments. Seven Cameras (two bodies only) and four lenses. Two parcels. Dispatched only one and in it only two cameras (one body and one body with lens).

No reply, no refund, nothing at all.

Do not waste your money for nothing, also if the prices are bargain prices. Most of the items are defective and no change allowed.
