Ordered A Corner Sofa. Wrong Sofa Came. Had An Awf
Ordered a corner sofa. Wrong sofa came. Had an awful experience trying to get it changed. Was charging me extra for exchange and full price for exchanging sofa as i got it in sale. Then I got through to an agent. What a star. She had it sorted in no time at all. Lovely professional and competent lady. Very good at her job. Her Manager has to know how good she is at her job. Credit to you. Thanks so much for sorting it for me. Xx

We Would Like To Highly Recommend Oak Furnitureland
We would like to highly recommend Oak Furnitureland as a particularly good company to purchase furniture.
We purchased a 3-seater and 2 x 2-seater reclining settees, when they arrived, we realised we hadn’t allowed for the extra room needed for the recliners, our fault really.
On this occasion we spoke to an advisor in customer services, who was excellent and said they would happily collect the 3-seater settee and replace with a single reclining armchair and credit the difference. The swap over was scheduled for a week hence, which was very quick.
Whilst we were waiting for this exchange to happen, we became aware that the colour didn’t really match our décor, which became more pronounced in certain light. They were advertised as charcoal, but they were more of a slate grey with a definite green hue.
We telephoned customer services again and spoke to a another advisor to ask what our options were, not really expecting any assistance, as they were the items we had ordered.
She said we could exchange the settees for another colour/style or have our money back.
We went back to the shop in Stevenage, we wanted the same style in a grey without a green tinge. We found some material in a sample book and inspected it closely inside and outside the store and found a better match to our décor. Unfortunately, when we spoke to her it wouldn’t be in stock for 3 months. However, she said we could keep and use the 2 x 2-seater settees until they were delivered.
She organised it so that the 2 x 2-seater settees were delivered with the single armchair and the 2 green settees were collected at the same time.
Absolutely nothing was too much trouble and let’s face it the fact they didn’t fit in our lounge in the 1st instance could have been put down to not measuring properly and secondly, we chose the colour, also our mistake.
Well-done all-round Oak Furnitureland Customer Service. We have already recommended you to all those who have admired our lovely suite.
Thank you very much

Poor Experience All Round!
Ordered Acacia bedroom furniture in feb paid in cash up front, with delivery date of May told by salesperson all made in UK but the problem was sourcing the wood due to conflict in the region it travels from, yet the packaging when delivered has printed on it “made in Vietnam” so not made in UK!
Delivery date arrived was told I would get call half hour before furniture arrived - slot was 7-10am. Got a call at 6.45am followed by the delivery arriving 5 mins later! Doorstep delivery so loaded into garage when unpacked the set of drawers looked like it had been dropped from a great height - split in numerous parts and cracked! Call to customer services and offered a £150 discount on the item ( it wasn’t a scratch it was wrecked!) refused so offered a replacement and another date booked for a day I had a hair appt booked but was told I would get a half hour call which would mean I would have chance to get back as I’m only 10 min away.
Delivery date came with slot between 12-3 , call came while I was getting my hair washed at 11.45 and from security cameras drivers were already on the driveway!! So no pre warning, I rang back 5 mins later, no answer, text the number no answer they then left.
Rang customer services to be faced with a lady who just kept telling me it was my fault it hadn’t been delivered and she couldn’t ask the drivers to go back they expect people to be in for delivery( I would have been in had I got the call I was promised!) so yet another date had to be arranged for 2 weeks time and another day off work!
Got a confirmation email with date and that I would get a 3 hour slot day before. When I didn’t I had to ring to be told the delivery slot hadn’t been requested so it wouldn’t be getting delivered! At this point I have had enough the lady on the phone was very apologetic and understood my frustration and booked yet another slot with premium delivery and half hour call. I did ask why they mention a half hour call on the website when it doesn’t happen but she promised me it would, they would deliver to a room of my choice, collect the damaged drawers and take away any packaging.
So here I am delivery day with a slot between 7-10am and guess what, knock on the door at 6.55am from delivery team NO HALF HOUR CALL!! Delivered furniture to a room of my choice, straight up the stairs and into the bedroom across the new stairs, landing and bedroom carpet with dirty feet so I’ve spent the last half hour washing carpet! One of them did remove his shoes and apologize on behalf of the other but it’s just not on!
Damaged drawers were taken but not packaging!
All in all poor service I will definatly not be using this company again and would dissuade family/friends from doing so.

Don’t Purchase Anything From Oak Furniture Land
Following dire delivery performance, necessitating a goodwill discount on the original order, of the 7 items purchased 3 have required repair. 2 in the first year under manufacturers warranty and the latter within17 months of purchase. The latter leading to the need for a full replacement under the additional 5 year insurance cover I took out at the time of purchase. Something I did, not because I expected to have to use it but because the purchase represented a significant financial expenditure to me.
On seeking confirmation that the replacement item would have both manufacturers 12 month warranty and the 5 year extended cover, a reasonable expectation given the need for the replacement is due to the poor quality of Oak furnitures product, I have been told that unfortunately I will I have to pay a further £29 if I want the replacement covered for the next 5 years. This is because the associated cover is via a third party and as such would require Oak furniture to make this payment on my behalf. This is something they do not believe is appropriate. I disagree as it is wholly down to the poor quality of Oak furniture lands product that a replacement is required.
Given the quality issues I’ve had to date I am now faced with either paying this amount or not and then risking the replacement showing signs of damage outside the 12 months manufacturers warranty. Something on past performance is highly likely
Based on my overall experience I would strongly advise anyone contemplating an Oak furnitureland purchase NOt to do so as the quality is abysmal and the insurance cover is limited.

Ombudsman Involved
Sofa developed problems such as fraying, loose cotton, fading, seats sinking within few months of delivery. Technician sent to inspect a month later extremely disrespectful of problems said was my fault as had sat on sofa for too long and caused the imperfections, sofa only few months old. No other way forward other than to involve furniture ombudsman as oak furniturland won't proceed with my claim, also the technician had made a comment about my appearance on his report which I think was extremely unprofessional

Never Buy
Bought a sofa which we were told would be solid without sagging. Totally untrue. When we received it was broken after months of waiting. Fixed on site. Wish I had returned.
Have had a man out today to assess who was obnoxious and rude.
Never buy from them and I totally will never recommend again to anyone.
Very Bad Delivery Service
We had a bookcase delievered on 23rd Feb last week, and had paid £30 for the room of our choice. 3 guys brought in the huge, but filthy dirty box (clearly had sat in a warehouse for months), took it to the room we chose, but then said that's it, we don't unpack. We were shocked. had just had the house decorated, and now they left, and we had to drag the box back out of the room to our hall, to have room to unpack it - not easy, and dispose of all the filthy packing and put the bookcase back - then we complain - oh and you can't leave a google review, they just use trustpilot (i.e. so they can avoid bad reviews, filter them and make things look better than they are)

Terrible Customer Service And Delivery
We bought a sofa for just under £2000. We had to order the additional delivery (£60-70) as the only standard delivery they offer is on a Monday and we both work all day on a Monday so this wouldn't work.
When the item arrived we got half of the sofa in and the foot stool to then be told our other half isn't in the van. Not the delivery drivers fault as they didn't load the van.
The earliest they could then redelivery the next part was the following Tuesday. Which isn't good enough when we have events planned after moving into our new home.
When talking to customer services the best they can offer is a £50 voucher (which is less than our FAILED delivery fee) which will only buy one or two items at their store. When quite frankly I don't want to give them any money.
The customer service manager (whose name I'm not allowed to put in this review) couldn't refund our delivery fee and now we're left with only option of waiting and then spending more money in there shop as we don't need the items the £50 voucher would buy.
Atrocious service and we're discussing a full refund of the whole sofa and experience because you do not deserve our money.

Do Not Use This Company At All Costs
Appalling company, appalling customer service. My elderly grandmother waited 3 months for her sofa to be delivered following moving back to the UK, relying solely on the stools that she was able to bring back. Upon delivery of the sofa, the wrong sofa was delivered and the next available delivery was another 3 months after this. Having shared with the company the situation, we were informed my grandmother would receive compensation as well as being able to keep the incorrect sofa as a goodwill gesture. We were continually fobbed off when chasing an update on this ("we will call you tomorrow" or "the handling agent isn't in the office right now") before finally being told the most we would receive is a £50 in-store credit coupon for a company we would never dream of using again. Please avoid at all costs.
Q&A
How can I get rid of the rancid smell given off from my new oak furniture?
The smell will eventually disperse on it's own, but as a matter of course, you should give your furniture a good coat if Fiddes Supreme wood wax (add a few drops of lavender oil if you like).
The "orrible pong" comes from god knows what sort of wax that is applied in China.
If, like my furniture, yours came with a rough texture, apply the new wax with fine wire wool in the direction of the grain. Buff when dry.
Repeat 6 monthly if it's in a centrally heated room.
Hope that helps.
Has anyone had any experiences regarding the 5 year insurance, i.e French polishing, repair of furniture etc?
Many thanks
Sorry - again not needed but the other services would make me confident that this would be fine
Thinking of buying sofas and armchairs from Oak Furniture land and would be interested on views about the quality of the products. Can anyone help?
I can only go from our experience, and it was a tragedy; a costly one at that. We purchased double wardrobe, triple wardrobe, double bed, bedding box and two bedside cabinets. It's a lengthy story, so I won't get into it here, but I would say that we wouldn't deal with them ever again.
The five star ratings are all well and good; it's hard to tell someone that this company is a shambles when everything goes right. But when things go wrong? Look out, because their customer services will wear you down to your knees.
Shoddy workmanship, each piece falling about, they wouldn't offer a refund and the only way was to pay to send the items back; actually, the snatched our hands off in charging us £200 for us to be rid of them.
We each deal with suppliers and judge them by the way they perform; sadly, for us it was an abysmal affair which had my wife in tears and £200 poorer.
Cross your fingers and hope that you will not be one of the 'one-star- raters' who have been ripped off by this unscrupulous company. I could only say that I truly wish you luck should you purchase, and then wish you luck, in that nothing goes wrong or becomes untowards from then-on.
