Whilst the staff were very fast to respond and polite, they made a fundamental error in my quotation.

Even though I had pointed out the mistake, by the time they accepted that my suspicions were correct, the time delay had literally cost me several thousand pounds.

Although very friendly to deal with I received no apology for their mistake, so for that reason took my annuity elsewhere.

So by all means obtain a quotation, but check the details are correct...then check again.

Retirement Solutions did a great job of sorting out the four annuity's I had joining them together in one pension, they were so helpful and answering any questions we had, always keeping in touch every step of the way, nothing was too much trouble.

The only paperwork we had to fill in was one form and a few documents, and they enclosed a stamped addressed envelope for that.

everything was sorted in just over two weeks and I had more money than expected.

from the start the service was first class the 2 staff members we dealt with where polite and very professional keeping us up to date at all times.That said the service was very very fast and super straight forward, or annuity and lump sum payment was increased by a large amount. Because I am a French resident I expected some difficulty when trying to base a pound sterling annuity on a small additional pound sterling pension fund. Another adviser only offered one poor value annuity and could not take my recent prostate cancer condition into account. RS did manage to do this and offered one but only one enhanced annuity which represented substantially better value. Almost good value I thought. The service from RS was always polite, rapid and addressed my needs. I can recommend them, although I remain to be convinced that the annuity industry as a whole is offering the sought of value that retirees really need and should expect.

I've used Retirement Solutions twice to help me find best deal for an ill health annuity (I only have asthma). They offered excellent initial advice, recommending different companies on each occasion as the sums invested were very different. The administration was very efficient throughout and I was kept up to date with progress.
