I beg you NOT to use this service

I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by AnyVan, which was nothing short of a nightmare for my sister. She entrusted them with an urgent move under highly stressful circumstances, and the experience was appalling from start to finish. The movers arrived late, with no regard for the agreed-upon time window, showing up at 10:30 AM instead of the promised 8-9 AM. To make matters worse, the vehicle they brought was in terrible condition—old, damaged, and clearly unfit for the job. It was smaller than expected and had holes in it, raising immediate concerns about whether her belongings would even make it safely to her new home. When my sister expressed concern about the vehicle, she was dismissed by the team, who assured her everything was fine, despite the obvious issues.

On top of that, the movers showed zero care for the items they were transporting. My sister had taken great care in wrapping all her belongings, including her expensive new fridge-freezer, in bubble wrap, but the team still mishandled the items. They dragged the fridge-freezer across the floor, causing visible dents and scratches, despite her repeated requests for extra care. The situation worsened when they loaded the mattresses, which were carefully wrapped in protective plastic, but they were left soaking wet and covered in black marks due to the van being left wide open during the journey. The mattresses were ruined and had to be replaced, and my sister was left without any of the essential items she needed for her family on the first night in their new home.

Not only did the team damage several items, but they also tried to charge my sister extra money for additional items that should have been covered in the original quote, and then attempted to get her to sign a waiver absolving them of any responsibility for the damage. This was both unethical and shocking, and it left her feeling vulnerable and distraught. Adding to the stress, the team spoke to each other in French throughout the entire move, which made my sister feel excluded and even more anxious given the already tense situation.

The entire experience was fraught with carelessness, unprofessionalism, and deception. Instead of providing the supposed "5-star" service promised by AnyVan, they left my sister with damaged goods, added stress, and financial burdens that she simply cannot afford. She had to leave items behind, and now has to figure out how to transport them herself, incurring further costs and emotional strain. To top it off, the team’s tardiness meant that my sister could not settle into her new home as planned, leaving her family in limbo.

I am utterly disgusted by how AnyVan handled this situation. They failed to meet basic expectations of care and professionalism, and their response to the damage has been inadequate. I strongly advise against using their services, as their lack of respect for customers and their belongings is evident. This experience has caused significant distress to my sister and her family, and I cannot recommend this company to anyone.

The removers were Luse and team. And the appalling response from AnyVan was made. She's been offered £80 for £2000 worth of damage. See you in court. Disgraceful, distressful and disrespectful.

Complete Disregard For Customer Care

We booked AnyVan on 02/08/2024, paying nearly £600 to move an air conditioning unit, several pieces of furniture, and over 40 boxes. What should have been a simple move turned into a complete disaster, and we are extremely unhappy with how it was handled.

We were told the truck would arrive between 8 am and 6 pm since we hadn’t picked a specific time. After booking, we realized we needed to add an extra stop, some additional items, and also needed help moving items from the second floor to the ground floor. We paid an extra £98 on top of the original bill, thinking these changes would be covered.

But on the day of the move, everything went wrong. We waited from 8 am, but instead of a truck, we got three separate cancellation calls from drivers. The first two drivers had health emergencies, and the third one just decided not to show up after accepting the job. Finally, at 4 pm, a "recovery team" from London called, saying they might arrive by 8 pm. When they finally showed up at 11 pm—much later than promised—they were clearly exhausted and hadn’t even had a proper meal in over 12 hours. They were polite and apologized, saying they would talk to their company about getting us some compensation for the ridiculous wait.

But that wasn’t the end of our problems. During the move, the drivers told us their job sheet only mentioned moving items from the ground floor, not the second floor, even though we had clearly asked for this. This was the main reason we paid the extra £98, yet we ended up having to move the heavy items ourselves.

To make things worse, we then had to drive to our destination at midnight—a tiring and potentially dangerous three-hour journey. The drivers, who had already been working for over eight hours, were also put in a tough situation. By the time everything was finally done, it was 5 am the next morning, and our belongings were left in a mess.

The next day, we contacted customer service, hoping they would make things right. Instead, we were met with a dismissive attitude. The agent questioned whether we had even informed the live chat agent about the second-floor move. After checking the records, they admitted it was their mistake—the live chat agent hadn’t updated our order. Even though they made this mistake, they only offered us a measly £20 as compensation, insisting the £98 we paid was just for the extra stop and items—not the second-floor move, which was the main reason that we were willing to pay extra. They also did not give us any compensation for the late arrival. They even said that because we did not pay extra to book a specific time, the truck could arrive anytime, completely disregarding what they said in the confirmation, which was 8 am to 6 pm.

We appreaciated the work of the drivers/mover and that the company could arrange a emergency recovery team at the end but this experience has left us very frustrated and disappointed. AnyVan’s lack of professionalism and care for their customers is shocking. We wouldn’t recommend their services to anyone. This was one of the most stressful and frustrating experiences we’ve ever had.

Dreadful Dishonest Service

Misleading advertising….. I would recommend you go to Shipley and find an independent man and van who has a good history and rating as you do not know who will be turning up with this terrible company.

The people that delivered my range cooker delivered a beautiful cooker in pieces catastrophic damage I was only offered £100 but despite paying over £300 to Anyvan. The people they employ you do not know who they are or what their history is so in my case I ended up with a pair of sham artists were absolutely terrible. Would not recommend this to anybody. Use at your peril

You have been warned.

Broke Every Thing During House Move

Moving home, we looked around and considered hiring a man and a van for a time-based payment. However, a salesman on the phone at AnyVan said that with what we had to move, it would take all day. This scared us into thinking it would cost us a fortune and that it was a better choice to go with AnyVan because they would complete the job and were insured. However, it only took them one hour in total, and it clearly shows with all the damage they caused to the new house and the items being moved. We no longer have an American fridge freezer, which stores medication, and they destroyed our washing machine. They also just dumped everything in the living room when we paid for room-to-room service. Just to illustrate how clearly the drivers they sent had no common sense, they placed our microwave face down with the door down, cracking the glass front. The drivers were rude, aggressive, and their language was disgusting. I contacted AnyVan and supplied them with a mass of photos. AnyVan refunded 25% of the overall charge, but the claim department was useless, to say the least. They shared my details without my permission and lied to me regarding an emergency payment. There is no such thing; it was just the damage payment settlement because their basic cover only includes fire and theft. I mean, who is going to pull over a moving van and take furniture? This whole company is a joke; stay away from them for moving home. I think many of the good reviews they have are from staff members because it seems like someone has tainted their social media accounts. The reviews on there are similar to mine regarding damage, lack of contact, and only paying out £100 for an American fridge freezer. How can anyone at AnyVan sleep at night. No vetting was done on the drivers, and there were no CRB checks when moving children's rooms; that's dangerous

Avoid At All Costs

If I could rate 0 stars I would. Booked anyvan for our home move, collected my belongings at 8:45am, the next location was 1 hour 15 minutes away. The moving guys did not show up there until 5:45pm, 9 HOURS LATER. We were constantly calling up the customer service line throughout the day and the time they would arrive kept on changing from 10:15am, to 12pm, to 3pm, to 3-4pm, to 4pm latest, to 5:30pm, and then finally they arrived at 5:45pm. This meant we were left hanging around for hours waiting to move into our new flat, having no idea where our personal belongings were being driven to. They then promised a refund on the phone and have since refused. They lied to us continually, misled us, wasted our time and created an unimaginable amount of stress. The most horrific service from such a horrendous company. Any other company to use for moving house is better than this one. Just awful, what a waste of money

Be Carefull Of Extra Charges

The pre day service was excellent, on the day was acceptable. BUT do not make a mistake with what you have, they charged me £6.50 per box extra, might not sound a lot but that equated to a increase of 30% to the end bill, I have no problem paying extra for the boxes but the £389 extra on the day was taking advantage of their customers stress.

Would not use them again.

Careless, Sloppy And Possibly Dishonest

I hired AnyVan to move a number of items from the Isle of Arran to a Shelter (Scotland) charity shop. Two men turned up on the appointed date (yesterday) and proceeded to go through my house like a firestorm, bundling armfuls of clothes into boxes, thereby rendering them unfit for acceptance by a charity shop, which wants only saleable goods. But they did not seem to realise that they were delivering to a charity, despite the fact that I'd made this clear to AnyVan several times; and whether or not they did, they made off sharpish with the whole contents of my wardrobe, without any authority, and also my jewellery box, cosmetics and perfumes. I rang their head office and informed them of the situation. The driver was ordered to turn round and come back, identify the box into which he had so recklessly shoved my belongings - and return it to me. He then had the audacity to ask: are you satisfied now that everything is accounted for? How could I be, since whatever he has taken was sealed up in boxes? I am presently considering whether to report this matter to the police.

Avoid!

I recently had the misfortune of using AnyVan for a house move, and I must say that it was a wholly unsatisfactory experience from start to finish. The issues I encountered throughout the process were not only distressing but also indicative of a systemic problem within this company.

My initial concerns arose when the AnyVan team arrived for the move, and it was clear that they were ill-prepared for a task of the magnitude of a four-bedroom house with a double garage. They arrived with two small-sized removal vans that were inadequate for the job, demonstrating a severe underestimation of the workload.

The move was originally scheduled as a one-day operation, despite several other professional removal companies recommending a two-day move with a three-man crew. This decision placed undue pressure on the AnyVan team, resulting in a 12-hour ordeal that extended into the evening. This exhaustion and time constraint led to a noticeable decline in their care and attention towards the end of the day.

What's most concerning is that the Transport Providers, assigned by AnyVan, were expected to accomplish a two-day job in just one day. This was not realistically achievable and created an environment in which damages were more likely to occur.

Regrettably, during the move, my wooden furniture sustained significant damage. I firmly believe that the responsibility for this damage lies not only with the Transport Providers but also with AnyVan itself. Their decision to contract ill-prepared and unqualified staff for the job, who arrived without the necessary equipment, reflects a severe lack of professionalism.

Despite presenting a compelling case with evidence, AnyVan's response has been not only insulting but also dismissive of the legitimate concerns I raised. They have offered a settlement that is woefully insufficient and fails to address the extent of the damages and the associated inconvenience and financial burden.

To my dismay, AnyVan has chosen to uphold their stance without acknowledging the inherent flaws in their approach to my move. Their unwillingness to accept their mistake in underestimating the scope of the job and failing to provide adequately skilled and equipped personnel is a testament to their lack of accountability.

This entire experience has left me deeply dissatisfied with AnyVan, and I would caution anyone considering their services to think twice. In light of their response, I believe that prospective customers should be aware of the potential risks associated with entrusting AnyVan with their belongings during a move.

In my opinion, the derisory settlement offered does not come close to addressing the damage and distress caused by AnyVan's lack of preparation and professionalism. I now find myself seeking alternative avenues to rectify this situation and hold AnyVan accountable for their actions.

This experience has left me profoundly disappointed, and I hope that my review serves as a warning to others who may be considering AnyVan for their moving needs.

Seriously Terrible

If I could rate zero stars I would.

I hired anyvan to do my house move. They HIRE other people who are incompetent. 2 men came with a small van and I expressed my concern as it was a full house move. The men could not speak English and somehow managed to put my full house hold items into 1 small van.

During the removal they damaged 2 of 4 flat screen televisions. 1 that cost £2000. A oak mirror, fridge freezer, washing machine and dryer all dented and scratched massively. The above I put in a claim for obviously and the removal men said the damage was already done. Yeh no images to support the damage. They had taken images of damage to other items in my old house which I pointed out to them also. Anyway. It was then that I became aware that anyvan use a 3rd party. And I am not insured for damage with anyvan. They will not provide me with the lads insurance provider due to confidentiality. These lads have caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to my belongings and AnyVan have said if they do not accept liability I will be given up to £100 towards each damaged item. I am seeking legal advice and hope anyvan will be slammed with the legal bill.

The only advice I will give is stay well clear of this terrible company and save your self the upset of items being badly damaged.

My cooker was also badly damaged but before I realised I was not insured for damage I did not claim for this as my cooker had other damage so I felt it was unreasonable to claim for it.

Any van promised my tvs would be taken down and put up. Then they said they do not do this.

Any Van is not as good as they like to make out. My home appliances are ruined. One lad trampled poo all over my carpets. I paid for 3 beds to be taken down and put back up. They are loose and I am unable to do it my self due to physical health problems. Honestly wouldn't waste your money

Refused Our Delivery But Kept Our Money! Avoid!

AnyVan refused to deliver our fish tank on the basis that the dimensions given were 'incorrect', even though I literally measured them the day before. They did not provide a refund at all (I had to beg them to provide a refund for the extra money we paid for a specific timeslot, as they were very delayed). So, we'll be taking them to a small claims court now.

Please avoid all this stress - Very poor company with customer service skills, and removals drivers who are underprepared, incompetent and will not deliver your item and waste your time/money!
