I've Used The Nokia 8890 Mobile Phone For Over Two

I've used the Nokia 8890 mobile phone for over two years and can say it has been excellent. It has all of the features I need (read: use the most): excellent SMS, large address book, voice dialing and easy-to-use menu. It's small, has backlit keys and can be used with the sliding cover open or closed.

I don't think it's fair to compare it to newer phones that have polyphonic rings, cameras or better games. It's all a matter of personal taste and needs. (To be honest, those polyphonic rings are annoying.) Although color screens are nice, the b/w 8890 screen is fine, and the white backlight is pretty cool.

If you need a phone that is reliable, comfortable to use, unique as well as stylish, then the 8890 may be your mobile. If you want nicer ringtones and games, go to an arcade.

The Phone Design Of The Nokia 8890 Mobile Phone Pu

The phone design of the Nokia 8890 mobile phone puts Nokia in a class of it's own. The sliding cover protects the keys and adds an additional "ooh" factor to this phone. The tiny retractable antenna is also an inovative design feature. Call quality varies between good and very good. This phone is being primarily used on Canadian GSM networks. Some might say it's outdated due to lack of MMS, polyphonic ringtones, colour screen, etc. However, this phone is for high end users who are just looking for mobile phone basics with an appreciation and admiration for innovative design. This phone does exist with all the present "bells and whistles" but the 8910i is NOT available for GSM 1900 frequencies.

By Now We're All Familiar With Nokia's Functionali

By now we're all familiar with Nokia's functionality and product features. This gem is consistant with other models and makes one feel right at home immediately. The GSM network is very solid and reliable in eastern Canada and seldomly, less than twice a week, are calls dropped throughout the greater metropolitan areas of Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Quebec City, and Sherbrooke. I've owned both the Motorola V60 and v70 brands and they are far behind the 8890! Too bad it's discontinued. I mean if you need a very solid cell phone, with a phonebook, calendar, and a sexy look, this is it! Powerful performance from Nokia. Bravo!

I Bought This Noia 8890 Mobile Phone Last Year. It

I bought this Noia 8890 mobile phone last year. It looked the business. After just one day it failed, couldn't get a signal and when it finally did, dropped calls after connection. Replaced the handset, replaced the sim, same again. Replaced everything again, on BT Cellnet, same again so I traded in for a SL45!

It is also just a "poshed up" 8210 with no additions, so no more "bang" for your brewsters.

The Nokia 8890 Is Just A8210 Thats Had A Make Over

The Nokia 8890 is just a8210 thats had a make over! The reception is good, the games are the standard ones! The flaws in the phone is its technical faults. Ive had 2 screens and a faulty speaker replaced! For the price of the phone not too sure this is worth it! Hope my next phone will be of better quailty!

I Have Had No Problems With My Nokia 8890 Phone, E

I have had no problems with my nokia 8890 phone, except for the chap at the Carphone Warehouse, who didn't know how to remove the battery cover, and just yanked it off, and hence, it is now a bit loose. There is a small button on the side that needs to be pressed for the cover to slide off as intended. (moron)

Cocco pops make me sick.

What a ******* of a reply?? The button he's refering to is on the right side of the 8890 and is part of the chrome line, and it's directly under the black top bit at the back. So there u go, stop pushing the infrared he doesn't like it. I wonder how many people just yanked it off because it's a really concealed button.

Cheers

I don't think the button you're referring to is intended to open the battery cover - it's for the Infra-red.
