I have worked with many recruiters but this one is definitely one of the worst.The team in Leeds recruiting for HR roles is extremely ignorant and just cant be bothered to respond to any emails or calls. They simply don't have any interest in showing any signs of customer care to their candidates and their attitude is just appalling. I will not apply for a jobs advertised by them again and I will never recommend them to family or friends.

My only advice to them is that your candidates today will be your clients in the future so have this in mind next time when you decide to ignore people.

As the title says, these are without a doubt the worst recruiters I've ever dealt with. In the past year, only one of their recruiters has been in touch with me, and she is horrendously unprofessional. She'll call me up, ask if I'm still looking, if I am then she'll mention she has some roles, but she'll never tell me what they are, or email me the job specs or anything. This happened yesterday, and I actually had applied for some jobs posted by them on Reed, but were they mentioned? No. To be honest I just wanted to get her off the phone, all she seemed to want to know was where else I'd been interviewing.

About six weeks ago, after I first got made redundant, she emailed and said she'd ring me the next day. Didn't hear from her until yesterday, and she got all offended that I didn't want to come down and meet her for a coffee before she put me forward for any roles, because companies like it better when recruiters have met the applicants. She actually arranged to meet up with me about a year ago too, and I was fine to go then, but then all of a sudden, wouldn't answer my calls or emails, and the meet up never happened.

They are ridiculously unprofessional. I'm not surprised they have only one star reviews, because they are, without a doubt, the worst recruitment company out there at the moment.

As a senior marketer looking for my next roles, I was interested in a role via Betterplaced. Clearly the role didn't exist as they skirted around it and tried to sell other roles. The next week I was called by 3 of their consultants about my 'status' and what I was looking for, clearly no sharing of info and just looking to sell.

What really, really incensed me was when I spoke to a consultant who knew I was in for role that I'd applied for directly. He'd then taken it upon himself to speak to the business about me, without authority and for no good reason.

They are unprofessional, arrogant and clearly not a functioning service provider. Avoid at all costs.

I am a senior Marketing and eCommerce Manager. These guys are pretty frustrating to work with and give recruitment consultants a bad name. It's worth the effort in writing a review to basically warn candidates or employers not to bother wasting their time or breath with these guys. I'm not sure what their objectives or criteria is,but, one would question how they communicate with candidates. They have a "you need us" attitude rather than a "we need you"

Don't waste your time...

I was a client looking for a senior management role.

I did'nt expect the red carpet treatment, but at the very least I expected returned phone calls and as a minimum some kind of bi-weekly updated via email - but sadly in 9 weeks of dealing with them I did not receive 1 SINGLE RETURNED CALL! Their website does not work (CV upload and email application facility), the jobs listed on their website are out of date (kept on there to make them look more busy no doubt) and NO ONE seems to have a clue about anything.

I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY

The stench of arrogance at this company is overwhelming. He is about as useful as a chocolate fireguard or an ejector seat in a helicopter. I would rather crawl through a mile of doggy doo then have to go through any kind of communication with any of them again.

Worst recruitment company ever with a poor company culture

I have now used BetterPlaced twice. Neither by choice, both times because it happened to be them who contacted me about a specific role. I interviewed on both occasions and was given good feedback after the interview, on one occasion resulting in a job offer, on the other a second interview. However left in their hands for a few days they managed to get both rescinded before I could accept or take the application to the next stage. From a candidate point of view they come across as pushy, dishonest, uncommunicative, impolite and not particularly knowledgeable. From a employer side I can only imagine they are saying the right things but creating genuine barriers from some good companies getting good candidates by a complete unwillingness to allow the candidates to express their interest and thoughts directly to those wishing to employ them.

I would approach them with extreme caution from either side and certainly as a candidate would not be trusting them again.

I am in a fairly senior Marketing role, with some very good skills and experience.

I have applied for several positions with this agency, I have uploaded my cv to their web site. I have sent messages to named individuals using LinkedIn.

I have never even had an acknowledgement, yet alone a reply to anything.

Don't waste any effort with these consultants. They will just completely ignore you.
