Don't Use Armishaws
Look elsewhere - this company will let you down, damage your possessions and overcharge you. If you want to know more read this:
We booked Overs of Camberley (owned by Armishaws) to move out into storage and move from storage into our new home. What an absolute disaster of service and company! So many things went wrong. We are out of pocket too.
What started in good faith ended with a nasty, bitter taste and the realisation the Armishaws are a 'take what you can' type company without any care or consideration for their customers. Here are the key issues we faced:
The price quoted originally was wrong; they added 25% onto the storage fee, but only once they had our items locked into their storage unit. So we had to pay for an additional 325 cubic feet of storage. The quote was done by someone visiting our house; they refused any liability and forced us to pay.
We booked our move out of the store, and they couldn't do it for a few weeks after we needed it; we had to pay for more time storage that we didn't need.
We stayed in storage for four months (Jan 21-April 21), and when we booked to move, they increased the onward move price by 42% from the original quote and would not entertain my arranging another removal firm due to COVID restrictions at their warehouse. Again we had to pay over the odds.
Our belongings arrived in April. We noticed the damage when the first item was unloaded, not just scratches but significant damage. Smashed wardrobes, sofas damaged, classic furniture ruined, our children's bed snapped. They even lost the bolts of our son's bed! The list goes on, but the damage totalled £8,000 to replace it all.
Armishaws refused to deal with me; they put me in touch with the 'Removal Claims Service', whose sole job was to reduce the claim. They offered us £1,500
We got nothing back for service; their strategy of 'ignore the customer' worked - I just got tired.
The end result, we have a £8,000 claim on our home insurance.
The moral of the story? DON'T USE THEM!
Please, I really really mean it you can and will find better. I don't wish the emotional hardship we have been through on anyone. Some of our best furniture had to go in the skip, it's really quite sad.
I could not agree more!! Never ever use this company if you have any pride in your possessions. The three items I stored were all damaged. Two beyond repair and I had to pay to have them disposed of when they were returned to me. £40 per item paid. Post delivery I dealt with a man that is well used to handling complaints - TOTALLY UNCARING and offering no personal service whatsoever!! Please never ever use this company - go elsewhere.

Never Use This Company- Rude!
After verbally agreeing to contract terms in person, this company have reneged on their agreements and demanded we enter an additional contract to take delivery of our goods. In total, we paid over £5,500 to move 10 miles down the road! When questioned, their Sales Manager was verbally abusive and shouted down the phone. The Director who then received our complaint concerning this person offered no apology and said he "didn't want to go over old ground". In order to receive our goods, we were forced to agree not to take legal action because of the extra £2500 they wanted, or they would not deliver!
Avoid at all costs!
Good Customer Care

Broken Furniture, Rude Office And Did Not Keep To Their Quot
Use these people at your peril, be prepared to pay extra to what is quoted, they have terms and conditions allow them to do it. If you do use them read the T&Cs carefully

Avoid Them!
Anything but a positive experience. Before the move we were promised boxes as part of the package, which never arrived.
Once in Spain we received no communication from the company and had to ring them the day before our furniture arrived.
Although they did deliver on the day promised, we were not contacted until late afternoon and the unloading finished at 21.40.
We then found that some wine which we had naively brought over had simply disappeared. Casually, the driver informed us that the guys in storage 'will have had that'. We are fairly certain that other items have also not appeared and some are damaged.
Overall, a company that is generally casual and not customer-focused. They promise to ring back and don't. Use someone else.
Mike, Spain.
Judge By My Last Email To Them As Follows-(to Which Still No
I queried your £754.27 'storage' bill n 19/9/16 and asked when delivery to Denia would be.
When I asked again on 22/9/16 you replied it was scheduled for w/c 17/10/16 giving yourselves 3 weeks
even from then to get it done.
On 30/9/16 I emailed you to confirm my aged parents were shipping out to receive you during
your chosen w/c 17/10/16, and a reminder on 13/10/16.
On 17/10/16 you told us you had cancelled that weeks run !!!!!!! but that you would
'contact me shortly with an update........'
On 24/10/2016 I asked you again only to be told by the person I dealt with the next day that someone was on holiday'!!!!!!!
Despite my further email of 25/10/16 explaining we are going to have to recover my parents .to the
UK due to illness I still have no reply.
This is clearly unreasonable. Kindly confirm delivery next week by return
Sad And Sorry Customer
I received a brochure through the post from Overs at the time that I listed my property in Ascot for sale. I was told by the salesman that the company was "top of the middle", which fitted my requirements.
It turns out that Overs is an old brand now part of Armishaws.
I accepted the offer and gave the salesman a cheque for the first payment, but was surprised some time later that I had a call saying that they could not arrange the collection as they had lost the cheque, it turned out that the salesman had been slow in posting it to them, despite the problem being theirs, I made second payment and when they found the cheque they returned it to me. This cheque was for a trivial amount, so the whole sequence seemed strange.
The collection went well, it was in fact an old Overs crew who knew the area.
My goods were in store for nearly three months, this also went well.
The delivery was terrible. A crew of two who did not work well together, complaining and shouting at each other. Much scuffing and damage to the newly decorated apartment. A marble table top dropped, "you said push" - "no I said pull" blame exchange etc. The table survived but floor badly damaged. There was more attention to trying to fit another job in than to getting my furniture unloaded.
Strangely, an hour after they left, one of the two reappeared with two items he had "found". I do not understand how that could be, my furniture was in four closed containers, didn't they check before leaving the site? Was there no inventory count?
The day following the delivery, I spoke to Armishaws to report that there were missing keys to a locked glass fronted bookcase, damage to the floor, some damage to furniture and decoration. A promise to get back to me was not kept.
I wrote and was told the managing director was on annual leave for the coming three weeks. I emailed and the reply said the loss assessor was on annual leave. correspondence copies available.
After further solicitation by email, letter and phone, I received a one word apology and an insurance claim form asking for two estimates for the floor repair. If this was the procedure, it could have been actioned three weeks earlier when I first called. No help for the lost keys. I guess they are gone and my Victorian bookcase is now scrap.
I am a retired, these are my precious family items, the firm owes more care to me. I am sad and sorry and feel helpless in front of Armishaws' wall of silence and indifference.

Dont Use Under Any Circumstances
I would have scored them zero stars if I could. This company did our removal out, packing and removal in. They damaged approx 30 items, lots of valuable furniture, some items were left out in the garden by them because they had tucked them inside the garden furniture and went mouldy such as our wedding album and my wedding dress! Some items (that are coincidently easy to sell on ebay) mysteriously went missing as did all our Christmas decorations (another coincidence just before Xmas)
They never once apologised or even contacted me, they just sent round the most obnoxious insurance assessor who then told me I could only claim back £45 per item (who has a piece of furniture that they bother to pay storage for that only costs £45!) So for items that cost in the thousands they were only prepared to pay £45. I can only imagine the one good review they have on here has been written by them
DO NOT USE IF YOU VALUE YOUR FURNITURE
P.S. Dont look for your removal company on the BAR Association of removal companies either, I complained to them, they investigated and were completely biased

Good Service
I first used Armishaws some 9 years ago and I am pleased to see that these high levels of service I experienced then are still there and going strong. This was the reason I recommended the company to my mother and her move went very smoothly, with no mishaps or delays.
The team that moved my mother were efficient and very careful with her possessions, They were also very polite and courteous which I appreciated.
Thank you and well done.

Just Avoid
Contacted Armishaws as they had taken over the (previously very good) removal company we had used. Both the receptionist and "General Manager" were obtuse and downright rude. My advice is just avoid this company.
