Stay Away From Them
If I could give a lower rating I would. STAY AWAY! DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. My shipment has been rescheduled 4 times and I've rented a truck twice only to find out when I arrive that my items are not there. They didn't notify me or provide any reasonable excuse. They wouldn't take accountability or even offer a partial refund. They do not care about their customers and believe they have no responsibility for the service. If you value your items, stay away from these vultures. A special call out for the people I dealt with for their disrespect and horrible customer service. I truly hope this company goes bankrupt, they DO NOT deserve to be in business. UPDATE: They’re now trying to use scare tactics by way of ‘legal’ ramifications to get me to remove this review. I won’t remove this review; their Managing Partner is trying to manipulate the situation so I take this down. Sorry but this is verifiable fact and I have threads of emails proving what I’ve in fact said above. It seems our friend doesn’t understand that defamation is the spreading of false information that leads to the damaging of reputation — defamation however is not the spreading of TRUE and VERIFIABLE information that leads to the damaging of reputation.

WARNING! Do NOT use this company. We moved from Toronto to Barcelona and have had nothing but issues with them since the beginning. I have NEVER experienced such abysmal service in all of my life. I would have never chosen this company had I known what I know now and after reading the new reviews that have surfaced over the last couple of months.
They gave us incorrect information when filling out paperwork, which created much more paperwork for us to complete
They gave incorrect dollar amount maximums, so our packages reached Barcelona and were then returned to Canada due to their wrong recommended information. Their lack of attention to detail, especially with written communication/documentation created many unnecessary issues and an enormous mess for us to clean up
The boxes were supposed to reach us within 7 business days, we received them 30+ days later (Additional costs were involved for this expedited air service)
We wasted time, money (had to purchase dishes, clothing, long distance calls to Excess, DHL), effort to locate these boxes as this company refused to update us/help us locate them
We eventually had to escalate our case to DHL and within Excess numerous times in order for our case to actually be taken seriously and worked on by upper management (My spouse and I spent upwards of 5 hours per day over a month e-mailing and on the phone with Excess and DHL)
Vacation days/time off work were used sitting at home waiting for packages to come that Excess promised would arrive that day and never came
We had to argue with them to get daily updates, as days would go by with no update on the whereabouts of our missing boxes
When boxes finally reached us, because of all of the back and forth and amount of times they were inspected, the contents were broken/damaged/missing (We received only 40 pounds refund for the broken contents)
Excess team lacked serious knowledge in international moving expertise, where we were forced to research and look into matters ourselves
Two months later, after fighting with them consistently for a refund (as they did not provide the service they agreed to), we finally received it. The Regional Manager actually told us "You will receive the refund next week, as this is when all of the refunds are processed". This obviously shows how many Customers they have done this to, if there are numerous refund being processed at once.

Worst Mover Ever, In 21 Years Never Seen Anything This Bad
We spent almost 2000 pounds on sending some personal effects, photos, videos of our children, mementoes and toys, from London to Uganda. On arrival, 6 out of 8 of our boxes were completely damaged, ripped open and water-logged. Items of much sentimental value were lost and many other items were broken. After complaining to Excess international and sending them photos of the damage as they requested, we received the heart-breaking news that as we had no insurance, it was not their problem. All those loved items, which to be honest had little monetary value, lost and they could not care less and took no responsibility. The irony is, we had asked about buying additional insurance, as our organization was happy to pay, but the advisor said the basic insurance was already included. So we didn't bother to pay more. Would it have made any difference? I don't think so. The careless, brutal way our boxes were treated suggests a very unprofessional service. Also, the promise that the boxes would be grouped into one package was nonsense. The detailed itinerary of our boxes included a number of trips to Europe (Germany and Amsterdam), back to Heathrow, then to the Midlands, and finally 7 boxes of 8 arrived in Uganda. Clearly not in one package. I am wondering what they felt they provided us, they were given our lovingly kept items, and they brutally threw around the boxes, carelessly smashed items, and somehow filled the boxes with water. We paid for that? Hard to comprehend. Our family is devastated by the loss, and absolutely nothing done to compensate us by Excess International. Beware. DO NOT USE this company.

Boxes delivery:
The driver was 3.5 hours late for the estimated window delivery, never bothered to communicate with me and left the boxes unattended on a street outside of the building.
When I asked for £50 reimbursement, I was told that it's non-findable, which was never disclosed before.
The sales representative and the manegment team were rude, unresponsive and not cooperating.

Bad Customer Service
Pathetic service and no proper communication. I would not recommend using these guys at all. My interaction has been highly disappointing and frustrating. I shared all documents on time, I made all Payment on time and cartons booked to be delivered via Courier Direct Service. Was informed the service takes approximately 3 - 5 working days, however to my shock despite constant follow-ups found out that my cartons have not been dispatched since for over a week!

Shocking!
We still have an issue going back to the beginning of the year with EIM when our container arrived in NZ. The EIM staff back in the UK taped up a hole in roof of the container with their own packing tape. No prizes for guessing what happened next. Have all the photographs to prove it. We lost quite a lot of furniture and personal effects through water damage and still suffering. They are denying any sort of responsibility and we have still not had a penny from them. Even the quality of packing was shocking. Fragile items crushed at the bottom of the container. We would advise anyone to steer well clear of this company.

If you want to have your goods deliver brocken with 2 months delay and not pay a penny for the damage, use this rubbish company
We had the same problem. I do not know how companies like this survive? And I bet you if they were on the receiving end their feelings would be different!

Still Waiting
Today we have been waiting 53 days for our goods to be delivered to Turkey
from the UK and Excess International. It's nearing Christmas,very wet a lot of the time and cold. Our home is only half furnished and we have few winter
clothes as all of these things are being held for ransom at the port of Ismir.
Excess have sub-contracted our account to someone else who seem to owe
outstanding fees to a turkish removal firm who seem to be sitting on our
items.We have paid our contract in full unfortunately so can't hold back
funds to compensate the stress we've been subjected to and are still being
subjected to.Our goods we were told would take 10 days Overland,53 days and
counting,MERRY XMAS EXCESS.

Extremely Disappointing
The sales guy was very good and helpful. The packers friendly and careful. Everything went smoothly until the day they were supposed to upload our things having already packed them up. 5pm the day before upload, having already paid in full I might add, we received a call from the contact person to say " we have some bad news, we are unable to locate you a container!'. So having paid in full to secure our move date, as of the day before our move date, they could no longer move us on the day which they had agreed. This meant we had cancellation costs for the cleaner we booked, we also had to rely on the real estate agent to have the place cleaned and that cost £180 more than we would have paid. Excess international basically said so sad too bad, the small print states we are not liable and they covered none of our costs, which were incurred as a result of their incompetence.
When our things arrived at our destination, there were a number of breakages, which were clearly the result of poor handling - a dining room chair with fragile stickers all over it had the leg smashed off, side dresser dropped and broken, the list goes on. We are still waiting for the result of our claim. They hired a company here in Australia who in turn sub distributed to another company so there was no ownership. The unpackers arrived with no tools to assemble furniture and were keen to unload and get out of here ASAP. They did that and after we complained they sent 2 guys back the next day who did help us but who again turned up with no tools. The response to complaints is very poor and I would neither use this company again nor recommend them in any way. Having moved internationally 3 times now, they get the prize for the least impressive.

Negligent at packing resulting in broken china on delivery at destination. Blunt dismissal of claim despite T+C clearly stating that their responsibility is to deliver products in same condition as packed.
Extremely disappointing in their manner in replying to my concerns.
