Late Delivery, No Communication, No Goodwill
I ordered a case of Prosecco on Friday, the 10th of April, and trusted it would be with us for my daughters Christening on the 19th of April. The Winedown website stated that they aim to deliver within 5 days so that would have worked out just right. On Thursday, the 16th, with Prosecco still not there, I emailed winedown asking when they aim to deliver and the reply on Friday was: 'Very sorry for not contacting you earlier, we are out of stock on this Prosecco and it will be with us next week'. This particular Prosecco is the only one I am not allergic to and the only other place that stocks it is Naked Wines but it was too late to order from them as they deliver next working day (and charge less money for delivery by the way) and Winedown only communicated with me on Friday. I went back to Winedown expressing my frustration with the lack of communication and had no response from them, no gesture of goodwill, nothing. I was about to cancel the delivery the following week when the email came through saying that the case is out for delivery. I emailed Winedown again suggesting that they refund the delivery charge as they did not stick to their 'within 5 days' delivery promise and again received no answer. Very disappointing, will not order from them again. Naked wines it is.

Following an order error which was totally my fault I contacted winedown by phone and spoke to a real person which was a shock in itself. Having explained the problem the gentleman said he would do what he could do to help instead of quoting policy as to why he couldn't. Correct items turned up on the day they was supposed to. Fantastic customer service.

Having found a wine I particularly liked - at an Inn where I was staying.
I placed an order that very evening. Two days later, case was duly delivered to my home address.
Most impressed, good wine at a great price with prompt delivery - what more could a man want?

Have used WINEDOWN for years. Keep coming back simply because the service is so good. I get the wine of my choice at a great price and most importantly get an email before goods arrive (you can request this on ordering) so that I can be in to take delivery. Recently my favourite wine was not in stock and they offered to source another similar option for me if the wait for new stock was inconvenient. Have never had any other retailer offer that kind of service before!

I've Used Winedown For A Few Years Now....
I've used winedown for a few years now and have always found their service second to none. It's so nice to deal with a smaller independent wine retailer rather than the supermarkets. I'm a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc freak and the staff at winedown have been able to give me great choices and advice. I'll be ordering again soon !

Never Ever Again
Decided to buy a case of the Runamok Fireship Red, I called before ordering to check stock levels as I have had previous problems with Winedown never having enough stock. When calling they told me they had plenty of stock and all seemed well. 7 days after placing my order still no wine. I called to see what the hold up was, the man on the end of the phone told me that they have no stock of this item and tried to thob me off with some other wine. I told them to refund me right away, they obviously didnt like paying out as it took 12 days for me to get my money back. I will never use this company again and I will never recommend anyone else to either.
I'm disappointed that you feel the need to post a bad review. If there's ever any stock issues which undeniably occurs occasionally, we always make every effort to keep our customers advised. In the event that we're not able to complete an order due to lack of stock, we ALWAYS, offer our customer the option of a better more expensive example at no extra cost. With regard to refunds, it's our policy to NEVER take money from our customers account until the order is ready to ship, so I'm puzzled that we apparently took 12 days to refund. Of course, without the reviewer's details, I'm not able to defend myself. Runamok Fireship is a product that in July, I'm certain I would have had in stock, which further confuses the situation.

Bought A Case Of Allan Scott Sauvignon Blanc Wine.
Bought a case of Allan Scott Sauvignon Blanc wine...my favourite white wine. I discovered this wine in a restaurant in London. This website claims they only stock restaurant/exclusive wines. Price was the best I found online and delivery made two days after placing order. The box was slightly damaged but the wine all ok. Would shop here again when I've run out of this wine...which may be quite soon!
