Not Valued As A Tenant

If you want a letting agency that picks up the phone, replies to emails, returns voicemails and repairs the property you are in, do not use Andrews. In the nearly 3 years I lived at the property they were a nightmare to get hold of and nothing would get done. My house was burgled 4 times. After stating how scared I was living in the property as a single mum and a 3 year old at the time. It took them 16 weeks to repair the fence backing on to an open yard. After the fourth time I was burgled which resulted in the front door lock breaking, I asked to be let out of my contract two weeks later. I had intended on staying in the property, but after it took two days to repair the lock and my four year old was now scared to remain, I needed to move for both our security and peace of mind. I had already been in the property nearly 3 years by that point, but was only let out of contract after I paid a £350 fine and a month upfront.

The condition of the property from the beginning was in poor state. Carpets held together with duct tape, bare floors in bedroom with a giant hole to the below ceiling. Walls and skirtings filthy, blinds mouldy, skirting boards coming away and a kitchen that should have been replaced years ago including a broken dishwasher. There was broken lights and extractor fan too, but they at least replaced that. After spending over £2000 in carpet, flooring, replacement kick boards and painting the house white, plus the hundreds in cleaning fees to move out, I am now at 21 days since moving out and no response from Andrews in regards to returning my deposit. The only communication I received weeks later is we are looking at costs to charge you. When asked for an update, no response and not allowed to speak to anyone on the phone.Ironically they are advertising the property with the same 5 year old photos... If that isn't false advertising I don't know what is. I have lived in many houses in Bath and have had fantastic experiences renting with Martin and Co, Homelets, Fidelis and Romans.I have worked in customer service for many years and never like to leave a bad review. But after asking for updates and for them to contact me about an official complaint, to no reply. I didn't want anyone else to go through the same experience I have had. If you want them to sell your house,or rent this house for you. This is the agent for you. If you are a tenant who never misses a payment and wants to live in a nice home with supportive agents - go somewhere else.

Worst Estate Agents Yet

I rented a property from Andrews for a year in 2021 and despite dealing with student landlords for the past 4 years this was my worst renting experience. I was unable to get through to my property manager once during the whole year I lived there. I received an out of office reply to every email sent and the automatic reply would contain the wrong information; it felt like these replies were sent out regardless of whether anyone was in the office to try and brush off tenants.

We had a leak through our roof which was never fixed, instead scaffolding was put up for 2 weeks and then taken back down despite no work being completed. This was never communicated to us either. The whole flat was poor quality, we required the microwave and hob replaced, plus all the surfaces and floors were wonky yet Andrews were still charging extortionate rent.

I would never rent from Andrews again and would actively discourage someone else to.

We had our Bristol home broken into as well and they denied us permission to install a lock for the downstairs bedroom!

Thank You To The Balham Office

Under very difficult circumstances with only one person working actually in the Balham Office compared with four before COVID the manager, has done an excellent job in finding new tenants and managing the new tenants into our property.

There was just one week between the old tenants moving out and the new moving in. There were many things to be done, quotes for remedial work and organising contractors to get into the property at very short notice. JP is unfailingly helpful and determined to ensure Andrews keeps its promises.

He did an excellent job. Thank you

I Am A Landlord And My Experience With Them Was Terrible

Andrews in Hastings. They were terrible. I was new to being a landlord so didn't know how it all worked. I never felt supported, so became quite anxious about all of it.

Didn't communicate with me, I had to chase them a lot, now they've left me in a really bad position re. a tenant that has not left after her tenancy ended.

I went through their complaints procedure and they weren't helpful at all. I was able to get a tiny bit of compensation.

Now they've been taken over by another agent, I am so much happier, as they actually work with and support me. The main issue was their complete lack of communication. I don't know where my fee was going as I was chasing them to do things.

Do Not Rent From Andrews!!!!

Do not rent from Andrews!!

Moved in and they breached the contract immediately without doing/fixing the things requested.

Moved in with 2 children to ripped carpets all down the stairs which my children had to sleep downstairs and they could of seriously hurt themselves, they don’t care what u move into, soon as they have your deposit and contract signed that’s it!!!!

Reported leaks, broken toilet etc has to wait nearly a month for them to come out and be fixed and that was because I emailed every other day till I got a response!

Customer service rubbish

I will never rent or use Andrews ever again, best thing I did was get out of there, do not recommend even if your desperate, your better off looking else where!!!

Avoid At All Costs!

Review for Andrews in Hastings, East Sussex.

I can only assume the "4 star" reviews on Andrews' own website are fake - AVOID ANDREWS AT ALL COSTS.

We had a year long tenancy to rent a flat through Andrews. If they ever need something from you, you will receive countless emails and telephone calls to sort out the issue; if you need something from them, you will have to fight tooth and nail to hear anything back, for many weeks or even months.

A massive issue was that our ceilings and shower lights would leak dirty brown rainwater. We took photos, videos and sent multiple emails to Andrews, only to hear back (a couple months later) that the issue was beyond our control and that it was on our heads to minimise the damage caused (and also try not to get electrocuted in the shower I suppose?!).

Our bottom oven also stopped working, and finally 3 months later the landlord came round to have a look - to everyone's surprise, Andrews had never passed on the videos, photos, etc of the leaks or any other issues to the landlord. They had kept him in the dark as much as us.

Finally at the end of the tenancy, I requested our deposit back. No response (unsurprisingly). Please note that whenever we went into the actual agency in Hastings, the person who was assigned to us (changed every few months without ever notifying us) would always seem to be out, or have the day off, or be too busy.

Emailed again, no response. Emailed with a formal letter (template from Shelter) basically threatening to take them to court if they continued to ignore us, heard back from them 15 minutes later.

They then sent an inspector and cleaning company to view the flat, sent awful quality photos saying we had left it in a disgusting condition and that cleaning costs (to clean the stains and damage caused by the leaking ceilings!!) would cost us £400, basically all of our deposit.

Contacted the landlord, who agreed that Andrews were unreasonable and gave us all our money back.

Andrews is a disgusting service who have no intention of providing help or even just simply TALKING to their customers. They do not care about your safety in your home, they do not care even if they are TOLD that there service is appalling.

I feel so sorry for anyone who continues to use Andrews, and we are ecstatic that we are no longer with them - and that our old landlord has also cut them off and moved to a different agency!

Nightmare At Best

Andrews Brockworth, Gloucester. No customer service whatsoever, more focused on the buyer than the seller. Wouldnt recommend this corrupt service whatsoever. Stay away from these people, they have no passion for you, your feelings or how the process is supposed to work. Despicable treatment that they expect to get paid for. Switching to an alternative provider who cares about its customers and treats them properly.

Absolutely nothing good to say about you, your a joke

Started Well, Ended Badly!

Andrews Cheltenham over valued our leasehold flat. Found a 1st time buyer but 2 attempts at getting a mortgage fell through. They encourage the buyers to use their mortgage broker so I guess they get commission on the sale and the mortgage; this certainly didn't work in our favour. Whole process not helped by the buyer's solicitor who did all they could to put obstacles in the way but this isn't Andrews fault.

Manager seems uninterested in my opinion in the overall process, didn't follow up on emails and the person handling the post sale wasn't really up to the job in my opinion. Very stern letter on what we could and couldn't do once contract ended!

Sales staff, especially L was very helpful.

We had to abandon the sale in the end which cost us a lot of wasted money and time. Andrews then asked if we wanted to use their lettings service - really!!

Poor Hastings Branch

unprofessional, rude and arrogant. refused to reply to emails. complained to area manager but this was futile. disingenuous info given out to entice sale. will never ever use ANY Andrews agency again in my life.

conflicting info advised again and again causing massive lack of confidence in Hastings branch. incredibly arrogant at end of contract, shocking.

Andrews Estate Agent, Witney- Baby Faced Smiling Assassin

Having employed the services of the BFSA in the past he has been professional, polite and very knowledgeable of the local area. I totally understand why now - money as we were booking his services he was more than happy to assist. However when it come to returning the favour I discovered than money is the only motivator and as none was involved I got the really BFSA. He refused to attend site, he refused to respond to my e-mails and this guy is the Branch Manager of an Andrews Estate Agent in Witney. I tried Purple Bricks they were fantastic all the way through the sales process from the first call and we sold the property in 4 days and saved a shed load of cash.
