These are excellent speakers! We went to richer sounds to buy a micro hifi and bookshelf speakers to hide away and came out with a fat old TEAC AG-790 amp and these speakers to hook up to our old cd player.(Maybee its my midlife crisis) WOW. The speakers have huge bass. Linkin park, Prodigy etc sound fantastic. Elgar and Bach just as good. Would well recomend these. And buy them from Richer Sounds for cheap as.

Replaced some expensive old Mission 733 floor standers (you know the ones with the "dead cavity" at the bottom) with these. The improvement (particularly bass) was dramatic and the sensitivity means you won't need to buy a bigger amp. You would struggle to buy the drivers separately for the price of these complete units - outstanding value [under £150 from Richer Sounds]! Even managed to get £70 for the old ones.

The only drawback is the weight (I live in 3rd floor flat with no lift :-( but only one neighbour :-)).

I have just connected the Eltax Concept 400s to my Pioneer 9800 SA amplifier and am knocked out by the clarity of the sound. Normally mediocre records are transformed and there is so much depth and texture to the sound. They make you feel like you are sitting near the orchestra or in the studio with the band. I would recommend them. They are good value for money.

Were can you buy the eltax concept 400 speakers from ??? iv looked everywhere, iv heard them at a party, they was amazing, i want a pair!!

i have these Eltax Concept 400 speakers my self and believe me im VERY much in to hifi and the sound quality from these speakers are unbelievable you take them home plug them in play ya music and its you have just spent £2,000 on a pare of B&O sound is just fantastic so clear and crystal i love them

I bought these Eltax Concept 400 as a budget option as Mordaunt Shorts had popped their clogs. I didn't expect much, but was pleasantly surprised.

I have them hooked into a Yamaha AX amp - not renowned for its delicacy, more for its steel toecaps - and the bass is superb. If you don't listen to your music as much as you used to - get married and have a baby girl - then these are a great buy. Wait till Mrs and offspring are safely at the park and then give these a jolly good thrashing. Magic.

I recommend the Eltax Concept 400 to all who want a good speaker for little money .
