I Had Van Insurance Via Evan For 12 Months, Renewe

I had van insurance via Evan for 12 months, renewed with another company when due again the following yr, Evan took it upon themselves to automatic renew the insurance leaving me with dual insurance. Rang them to explain this & to cancel what I had not authorised they told me they would refund the monies asp.. it took 2 months for the refund and many phone calls of which I now realise is a premium rate line. Steer clear of their traps...

This Has Got To Be The Worst Insurance Company Eve

This has got to be the worst insurance company ever and will not be using them again!!! You send all relevant information which they lose and then they have the cheek to threaten to stop your insurance when it's their fault! They also gave me 20 minutes notice that they were cancelling my insurance which was very inconvenient. I am then told that I have to start a new policy which is now another few hundred pounds. They shouldn't be able to get away with extorting money from their so called customers. Think it's time to let the Office of Fair Trading and Trading Standards and Insurance Ombudsman have a look at some of the reviews on this site. I will definitely be reading the reviews before I buy insurance again. Missing field??? YOU DONT DESERVE ANY STARS!!!!!!!!!

Where's that option?!

Cannot Operate As An Insurance Company Properly

After being with Evan for 8 months this policy i purchased a new van yesterday ( ex demo with 1200 miles)

This is a bog standard transit van delivered yesterday.

Great I thought looking forward getting behind the wheel.

After going on line and checking into my evan account I thought a few minuets and i will be on the road how wrong was I .

After trying to change my vehicle details from my old van to my new one which incidentally is for the record a transit 125 T350 LWB TREND AWD. I found that Evan did not have this van listed on their drop down menu .

Next move I had to ring their compulsory £1.50 from a bt landline number as I'm not bt but talk talk I will no doubt be receiving a hefty bill.

I could not believe what I herd from the Evan operative who after keeping me waiting with long silences ect so they can make more money from each call who said that as my vehicle was not on their list that they could not insure me and my policy would be cancelled at approx 10am yesterday and I would be charged a cancellation fee of £70 which will come out of any refund due

I have looked on their terms land conditions and I cannot see anywhere that if they as a company cannot provide a service being the insurance contract that they can cancell the said policy and charge £70 for the privelige.

Incidentally I rang around a few other insurance companies and some did not have an up to date list of vehicles like Evan

But all these companies said they could insure me no problem.

I think it is very wrong that a company like Evan can get away with ripping people off when they want all due to the fact that they cannot provide an Iup to date vehicle listing on their web site.

This was an Evan fully comprehensive policy

am currently also up against a brick wall to stop increase from £29 p.m. to £110 p.m. full comp. inc recovery. sent emails to ask reason for this, no reply. did a new quote and discovered vehicle too old for recovery hence rip off increase. so applied for t.p.f.t to reduce cost. bingo £30. excluding recovery. sent new email to change from full comp. to t.p.f.t. was messaged to resubmit on policy changes did that expecting worldpay invoice for £30. but no bloody £110 again for just one month, the van is only worth £500.

Terrible!

All I wanted to do was add on a temporary driver to my insurance for the day, so I emailed and got a reply saying fill out the contact form by clicking on the link. I filled it in but it wouldn't submit as kept saying it had filed larger than 6mb. I tried on my laptop and ipad, but had the same message on both.

I then called their ridiculously priced premium number, and got a message saying I do not have access to that number, and it defaulted to Orange?!

I emailed again, explaining all this and did not get a reply, hence I couldn't insure my friend for something really important and it was a nightmare.

I will not be renewing with them this year.

Dont Bother No One Works Here

Just wanted to up date my address simple!yes NO, contacted them three times to no avail, there customer service email address does not exist. I will not phone the number at £1.05 per min just to change my address. I have tried to update my policy using multiple changes but does not let me get past the quote page. Trouble is now I want to cancel my policy but my no claims is going to go to my old address. Next step is to contact Trading standards to get rig of companies like this.

Probably The Worst Insurance Company In The World!

Please do not ignore this review, and steer clear of this Company. You will not be able to cancel the policy, and payments will continue to be made via Futurepay. I cancelled three months ago, (online as this is the only way) when the monthly charge increased fourfold, and they are still sending me documents, and taking payments. I've had to call my credit card company who have charged the last three payment back to my card. I've also reported Evan to Trading Standards. Don't try to phone Evan, as you will be charged £1.02 per minute, and put on hold.

I'm just glad that I did not have to make a claim during the time I had insurance with them. 1. You would probably be unable to communicate with them. 2. Would you be insured? I'm just glad that it's all over. I hope!

Avoid * Avoid * Avoid

i took out a policy with evan & unfortunatly had 2 convictions which i did not now the precise dates of so i guessed,it was only going to be days out ! when i sent in my driving licence they tried to charge me an extra £200 as the dates did not match even though i was honest with the codes & convictions, this was a hike of one 3rd of my premium ! i wrote to them after being ripped off on the phone by them @ £1 a minute to just be on hold ! you will just go on hold & they will take your money ! after i wrote to them to dispute the absurd figure they just IGNORED me & kept on with demands for £200,they left me with no other choice than to cancel my policy as they were well out of order ! forced in to a corner to leave them ! they then tried to charge me a cancellation fee even though i was effectivly forced to leave !they then passed it on to a litigation company to chase thier demands for money ! THIS IS A VERY VERY VERY BAD COMPANY !

Evan Hike Premium To Double Once You Are A Customer

I have been with this company a few years. Suddenly without warning my insurance premium went from about £800 to over £1600. No accidents or traffic offences

Tried emailing them because last time I rang them it cost £30.

They did the same thing to my brother in law last year they just hope you won,t notice and it will auto renew.

Re quoted with auto trader and out of 41 insurers none were higher than £880 with the lowest being £452 EVAN well would you believe £3250 before my no claim discount.

Don't deal with this company they are unethical

Please Do Not Use This Company!!

If you are considering using Evan please don't do it....they have been useless from start to finish during an ongoing claim I have with them. Customer service is none exisitant, premium rates numbers to call if you have a problem and you will be lucky if anyone does answer and when they do, you will wish they hadn't. Fraudsters is the only word I can use without using profanities, they have continually lied about everything, all correspondance from them tells you different information and you will be passed from one department to another ( whilst draining your credit). I have challenged them several times about incorrect information in letters regarding my claim and all they state is the letters are "standard" jokers! I know they are cheap and times are tough but cheap terrible service is what you get...paying hard earned cash for a policy that isn't worth the paper it is written on. WASTE OF TIME.......
