I called the Frome office to ask for a quote on my late Uncle’s property in early August 2023. I was told 1% plus Vat was acceptable. I passed this on to my brother who was my co executor. Nothing was put in writing. I asked several times for a sales agreement for me to sign. My requests were ignored. We have just found out, in late January 2024 that despite me handling everything, and my brother having nothing to do with the sale that Allen&Harris decided to send a sales fee agreement to my brother and in very small writing inserted a fixed fee of £4,740 for a property valued at £130,000. 1% would have meant us paying £1,300 plus Vat. The fee was buried late in the lengthy document. My brother “ signed” it electronically by clicking in a box, assuming I had asked Allen&Harris to send it to him and that everything was above board. Unfortunately he did not read it. In his defence, it would have been almost impossible to read the document on a phone.

We are both very angry at how shabbily Allen&Harris have behaved. I would not trust them any further than I could throw them. Estate agents owe their clients a duty of the utmost good faith to act in the best interests of the client. I will leave it to you to decide if this is how Allen &Harris have behaved here.

Allen and Harris Whitchurch Cardiff. My personal experience. The sales persons one male one female both lied as to the condition of the property. The experience cost me close on £15000.00, however there is no CCTV to act as your witness for the information that they feed you which turned out to be just LIES. Buyer beware of this estate agent. Only interested in your money. I will do whatever I have to ensure no one gets tricked like I have with this agent. I have only ever done decent business earning a honest crust so to be tricked into losing my pension has left me with a very sour taste in my mouth.

I asked them to come and evaluate my property for sale 6 months ago. Decided not to go ahead not put the property the market, informed them of this but it has been ignored and since then I have been in receipt of multiple phone calls from them all seeking to put my house on the market. Each time I have asked that my name and number be removed from the books so this doesn’t happen again. But at least once a week I get a call from them asking the same thing. Utter harassment. Ended up blocking them.

Allenandharris are amazing we had a difficult first time buyer who wanted every single survey done but at a very late stage in the process 10 days till completion.

Put £570 holding fee down for a property we liked, tenant letting search revealed my had a CCJ about 7 years earlier. There was no communication until I made the calls/emails. Was told without a guarantor could not go ahead with property. My mum was prepared to be guarantor but because she was still grieving loss of my dad I decided not to go ahead with renting as I didn't want my mum to be worrying about this. Needless to say lost my £570. Thanks fully there are laws coming soon to prevent them from doing this. Don't get me wrong, of course they need to charge for work done but this £570 figure is blatantly too much. BE VERY CAREFUL BEFORE PARTING WITH YOUR MONEY !

I have been using their service both letting and selling my properties. Terrible service in letting. Now I am still waiting selling my two properties the first one had an offer in March! They recommended non professional solicitor firms to buyers. Asking silly questions make both transactions become very protracted.They suggested a completion day then turned around next day saying the buyers might not get a mortgage! How did this happened!

Serious advise-just DO NOT USE them at all.

The worst letting agent I have dealt with. Terrible communication. Rudeness. Terrible customer service. Not adhering to contract on several occasions. Broken items (under contract) in home left unfixed for lengthy period - had to fix myself.Not returning deposit (still waiting, and being told I need to wait longer, contrary to TDS rules) in set period. When I stated that I would seek legal advice, and leave an appropriate review, I was told not to use 'threatening language'. Avoid at all costs. Appalling company. Appalling attitude. The manager was incredibly rude. The senior letting agent accused me of using 'threatening language' towards her when I merely stated that I was disappointed and would be contacting their governing bodies because their company is appalling. I stated I would contact a solicitor. They contravene the TDS in respect of the deposit. Absolutely awful. See similar reviews below, especially in respect of attitude.

Asked for a home report to be sent for a house in Clarkston, agent called me up giving me attitude and not wanting to send me home report out unless I come in to branch for a meeting with their mortgage advisor. Eh no thanks I’m all sorted I want to read the home report before I decide if property worth viewing. If your selling your house please think twice about using this lot. First time I’ve ever been given hassle like this when interested in a property .....they still haven’t sent home report!

Terrible service from the person I dealt with from Kilmarnock road Shawlands Glasgow, After several emails and phone calls to get a home report for a property for sale for over a year she comes out with attitude and disgusting customer service. I hope the management are reading this and sack her. not worthy of dealing with customers.

The customer service is appalling. The pre-arranged survey was also appalling, as they did not bother to turn up and when I telephoned them, they told me a different date on the phone to the one they booked and sent a text confirmation on. They also told me that the tenant telephoned them to cancel it, yet I am the owner selling the house and I had arranged the survey with them. Plus, there were two properties and I do not know why they cancelled the meeting on both on the saying of one of the tenants.

He could not take any form of criticism and was taking my complaint as a personal insult - may be he thinks he is the man in the Allen & Harris. I had to ask him whether he was the Mr Allen Harris. He should be able to take constructive criticism and be professional.
