Quirky Independent Jewellers

After getting engaged in New York we knew we wanted to get a ring from somewhere that has sentimental value and not the usual high street chain jewellery shops. We of course picked Sheffield...This is where we first met 6 years ago! The assistant was very attentive, letting us browse before we chose some rings to try. We were then taken upstairs where we learnt a lot about the rings styles, metal and diamond cuts. It was great to hear that the shop employed someone with a background in jewellery, which the assistant had studied at uni, it makes it a lot more professional. All of the rings were gorgeous and decided to go for a stunning trapezium style from a german designer. We also looked at wedding rings and will of course be going back nearer the time of the wedding to select these. We are really pleased with the outstanding service received and the quality of the ring, it has been beautifully made! Thanks very much Green + Benz and we look forward to more trips to the shop in the future (I hope it will become an anniversary tradition)!

A Very Happy Day!

Today we visited your Sheffield branch and were looked after by a lovely team of girls in a beautiful shop. I was lucky enough to be choosing a diamond wedding band for our 25th anniversary, made even more special as our youngest son had graduated the prievious day and was with us. What a weekend! We felt so special and loved the information on diamond quality, suitability and the design team behind the most beautiful ring we chose. I'm full of excitement to have it on my finger,

Great Customer Service

I April dealt with Chesterfield shop for an individual necklace and one particular assistant, but the site rules here tell me not to mention her name, which is a shame as she was first class and could not have been more helpful.

It is people that make the business and she, even though part time was fantastic.

Buying A New Watch And My Wife Got A New Ring

We went into the shop at Chesterfield as I was looking at getting a Tag Heuer watch and had seen one or two I liked in there display window. We were welcomed by the person I dealt with who asked if she could help us.

I asked if she could show us a couple of watches I'd seen in the window and she got them out for me to try on and choose which one I liked the best. She was very patient and helpful with us as I decided which watch I liked best as I couldn't make my mind up between two of them. She offered some helpful advice and I made my choice and she then sorted out the size and how many links we I needed taking out.

It the meantime while we was waiting my wife saw a ring that she liked and the person I dealt with asked if she would like to see it and try it on. My wife loved the ring but said it was just slightly higher than she wanted to pay. The assistant said she would look in the shop to see if there was anything similar and she found two more rings that were around the price we wanted to pay and very similar. My wife loved one of them so we said we would take that as well.

What can I say we,loved the experience in there and had a really good chat with the person I dealt with and some of the other staff. She was so easy to talk to and nothing was to much trouble for her. She was very attentive to our needs and took the time out to chat with us and offer some advice to us without being pushy at all.

I wouldn't hesitate to go back there again and would recommend anyone looking for something special to go look at what they have as there items of jewellery are so special and the staff are brilliant.

A Classy Jewellers-high Quality In All Senses

Having used Green and Benz a number of times over the years I am delighted to be able to leave feedback for them.

I have used the chesterfield and Sheffield shops and have never been disappointed.

What makes it stand apart from other jewellers I feel is the personal service. Advice offered from members of staff has always been helpful. We have never felt pressured into purchasing anything and the sales team, particularly in Sheffield as this is where we have had most dealings, have never been pushy or intrusive. They have been as concerned with getting the right piece for us as we have and have always gone the extra mile.

I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this jewellers to anyone, in fact I would insist you tried here before anywhere else! The quality of pieces and the variety of designers make the whole experience of jewellery buying a total joy!

Excellent Friendly Service Providing Exquisite Jewellery

We have used Green & Benz a lot over the years for various pieces of jewellery, both the Chesterfield and Sheffield stores and have received excellent service every time!! More recently, my new husband chose my secret engagement ring from the Sheffield store, where the staff member got it spot on with design and brief, and then our wedding rings. Mine in particular was designed with a brief in mind to compliment my engagement ring, fit in with budget and style! I also had a bespoke sapphire ring made from having the stone, into a fantastic timeless piece to be my 'something blue' on our wedding day!! Nothing is too much trouble from all of the staff, their knowledge and expertise is exceptional and you are made to feel at ease when choosing the right piece, rather than being pushed upon to purchase!!! Well done to all involved with Green & Benz, do doubt we'll be back in the future!!!

Excellent Service From Green + Benz

Green + Benz was a tremendous help in selecting, ordering and delivering a tailored engagement ring for my future wife (she said yes - phew). The Green + Benz team went out of their way to assist me in an area that I know absolutely nothing about, and the chosen ring was absolutely stunning. I'd have no reservations at recommending Green + Benz to all other confused blokes who know very little about sparkly diamond things!

Fantastic Service From Chesterfield Green + Benz

I recently purchased a Tag Heuer ladies watch from Green + Benz in Chesterfield. I have never left a review for a shop before, but the service I received was outstanding, so here goes. On our first visit I must have looked at more than a dozen watches, all different makes, different prices, from different cabinets and of course from the window displays. When I was down to about 3 to choose from, I asked to see some of the others again, just in case! It was absolutely no trouble. In the end I couldn't make a decision so left the lot. I went back the next day, and started looking again. I wondered if the staff would think, Oh no, not her again, but I was warmly welcomed and they couldn't be more helpful. They remembered which watches I had really liked and they were all brought out again for me to look. Nothing was too much trouble. Even on the 2nd day they were saying to me that unless I was 100% sure it was the right watch for me, it was better to take more time. When I eventually chose my beautiful new watch, the bracelet was altered 3 times to ensure I was completely comfortable with the fit. I really felt the staff were as committed to finding the perfect watch for me as I was, and price was not an issue. I cannot recommend them more highly.

Product Quality Poor

When my husband and I first started looking at jewellers for my potential engagement ring we found green and Benz in Chesterfield. We thought we wanted a small jeweller who could give us the brilliant service and great quality we wanted rather than a national retailer. At first it all went well, we chose a custom engagement ring (basically choosing a bigger diamond on the Heidi ring) and my boyfriend (at the time) ordered it when he was ready to pop the question. The ring when we received it was absolutely beautiful, the diamond was stunning (which is the only reason this hasn't got a one star rating). After about 12 months I noticed my platinum ring had bent out of shape. Not a little, like A LOT. We took it back and they said I must have done something strenuous. As a teacher I hardly have a really physical job, but we went with it and paid to have the platinum reshaped. Another 6 months or so went by. I went on a night out. Got home and my diamond had fallen out. I was absolutely heartbroken. After the last time I had to have it fixed I was ultra careful and took my ring off every time I did something as strenuous as cleaning. But when I took it back to have it assessed they could still only say that I had obviously done something strenuous again as the clasps had bent slightly. What could I possibly do that had bent platinum?!?? I took it off every time I did anything slightly strenuous, which by the way no one I know ever does! This time I was just infuriated. My husband spend my more on platinum thinking that it would be stronger, he was also led to believe this by the sales assistant but I had so much go wrong. Unfortunately we didn't have insurance (our fault completely, we were advised to have it but never got round to it) so when we were told the repair costs were going to be more than the actual ring we had to just leave it. I was so hurt. TBH tho I would never have felt confident about the quality of the ring again. I have many friends who have been engaged and not one have had any issues at all. I had all of these issues and it can't help me come to any conclusion apart from that the ring was not good quality to start with. Whether it's that the ring wasn't appropriate to cope with bigger diamond (altho if this was the case we should have been informed) I don't know, but I would NEVER recommend this jewellers to anyone. One day when I have more money I would love it to get the ring assessed by someone independent to see if the ring was poor quality like we thought. I've even gone so far as far as thinking it can't be good quality platinum.

I now have a brand new ring on a payment plan with a national chain. Brilliant quality and I Am very happy. And yes we have insurance.

Please don't ever buy your engagement ring with green and Benz.

I totally appreciate your concerns, to me any piece of jewellery is an important and valuable purchase and also highly symbolic of the love and emotional investment contained within. For that reason I carefully assess the quality of all our stock and take on board any client concerns

Although I understand this incident actually occurred over a year ago, I do remember this ring (thankfully this occurrence is a rarity), but we always keep detailed notes and photographs and I have therefore just reviewed the information again. To advise, by qualification I am a Gemmologist, Diamond Grader and also experience Jewellery Valuer, as such I technically assessed the ring and also sent it for review with the original manufacturer. Moreover, I am someone who loves jewellery, loves people and believes that customer service is paramount

However, the ring as presented back to us twice, irrefutably contained consistent visual signs of trauma, there were several impact marks on the base of the shank and consequentially the ring profile was so misshapen it therefore would have lost its strength and durability. This pattern was also seen and acknowledged in the adjourning wedding ring which was not brought from us.

On the second occasion two of the claws were also severely bent consequently the stone would have fallen out. However, on this occasion the shank was intact. If the cause was our quality I would have thought the shank would be bent again? In essence there was no visual evidence of a quality concern at all and as you explain, the ring was made of platinum, the strongest precious metal work with, it doesn’t flex without considerable pressure or force.

The analogy is like buying a car and having an accident. You can buy a Porsche but if you crash it on the road sadly the dealer is not at fault

I am however, sorry that we were unable to turn this sitaution around for you. I know without insurance cover we looked at several alternative diamond and worked hard keep the replacement costs as low as possible, but I respect this is not the route you wanted to take.

I am glad you now have a ring you love and have achieved this on a payment plan. Most importantly I too am glad you can have piece of mind that comes with appropriate insurance cover. With best wishes and kind regards Helen Dimmick
