This is a very reliable car.

It is not a Ferrari or Range Rover, however, provides enough space for a family of five.

The bad points is it is loud and the windscreen pillars provide an obstruction, however, you will soon get used to it.

It is without doubt, one of the most reliable cars I have owned. The parts are cheap and easy to find.

If you start assessing yourself which is the most popular MPV out there, thus, you will see more of these cars than any other MPV. This is for a reason, these cars are really good and I highly recommend them.

Apart from the above negatives, this car is brilliant, has tons of space (feels like a 7 seater) and good on insurance.

Why Did I Wait So Long?

Just bought a 53 reg 2004 Picasso 2lt hdi..122700 miles covered for £1800..and do you know what i love it..came with part history but proof of belt change at 97k but no proof of service since..was told it had belonged to a citroen mechanic who had done it all diy..to be safe i had a major service done..first thing my mechanic said after serviceing it was how well it had been maintained and it was in great condition..happy days..today had a tuning chip fitted and now returns another 25bhp and 50lbs torque...now has comfort, practicality AND strong performance with economy! Excellent for long trips with the family from Northumberland down to the IOW where we have family...get a good one, get it chipped and enjoy!

My Poor Old Duffer

I brought my 2001 picasso about 8 months ago she only had 95000 on the clock and cost £1600 (no warranty).everything was fine until 2 weeks ago when the head gasket went, and the head was so corroded that she needed a complete new cylinder head, all this was caused by her previous owner not using antifreeze. (total repair bill £1900)cheaper to bye another car ?, not on your nelly my wife and i love her. where could you by a car with the high spec of the picasso ?. its way out in front of the others, alright its got a few niggles like cabin creaks (buy a car washing sponge and when you identify any creaks just wedge a bit of sponge behind it)and the suspension can make a few weird noises but given their age its acceptable.the dash is excellent with its clear central display, not like the others all shoved in one corner.the piccaso is bright and airy and the seats are comfortable, there is also plenty of leg and height room, the resale value is not very good, so your better off keeping it for as long as you can.the piccaso is treated a bit like a grandad car by other drivers because of its looks, but put it on a motorway and it will sit there cruising at 70mph all day long.would definatly buy another one

Sold my 4x4 to buy my Picaso 2.0 diesel Desire, within 2 days thought what have i done ,but its a big but it is starting to grow on me specially the 40+mpg.Easy to drive, dont like plasticy bumpers found a crack in front one i missed when i bought it,dont like not being able to see front wings, think previous owner found same as one or two scrapes on both sides front bumper.Comfortable to drive loads of room very practicall quiet engine,so although only owned for a few weeks will stick with it for a while at least.

Just Bought My New Car Picasso 2.0 Hdi Sx For &pou

just bought my new car Picasso 2.0 hdi sx for £1200 with 127000 on the clock feels strange to drive at first gears fell loose meant to be normal give it time and its quite nice to drive. things noticed are driving at 30 mph steering wheel wobbles took it to tyre spot said needs 4 new tyres had to leave it as had to pay for my extra insurance, on auto trader it was a group 7 went onto whatcar after buying the car and it came up as group 18 bummer. what else boot lock sticking and needs replacement key case £5-6 on ebay with new battry.might be nothing noise from power steering. I'm told the most common fault is the front springs go. I am still growing to love it and it looks modern for its age.

This 2l Citroen Xsara Picasso Was A Dixons Ex-dem

This 2L Citroen Xsara Picasso was a Dixons ex-dem car, ease of access onto the higher seating was a major bonus, time proved the car was capable of almost any task, being in SX trim I had little luxuries built in, armrests, tables etc. One minute it was a comfortable, roomy 5 seat limousine capable of holding motorway speeds all day without stress, next with seats out it was being loaded with a complete bathroom suite from Wickes [and the tailgate door shut]. It developed a major fault with the ERG valve within warranty but apart from having to change the drivers door central locking unit, nothing since, its been a truely reliable trooper. Typically the diesel engine is reluctant to fire in bitterly cold weather, common to almost all makes, as it spins too slow on the starter, but eventually it starts, if you are on snow the strong idle speed in lower gears will usually keep you moving without touching the throttle, the heater is very slow at warming the cabin but air con aids demisting. Fuel economy on the 2 litre is excellent nudging 60 mpg on a leisurely drive, although I have only just covered 30,000 miles in my ownership the dreadful conditions of Britain's roads has taken its toll on the suspension which now is getting a bit noisy also there is a lot of plasticy creaking developing in the cabin, I am in two minds whether to change cars or not, the Picasso owes me nothing, it is still a good reliable beast of burden, road tax is cheap at £115 pa, and it has sunk as low as it can in devaluation.

I would recommend this vehicle to anyone, it is perfect for a growing family, a DIYer, a taxi almost any application, and, as they are no longer in production there are bargains galore out there, just be sure its a diesel for cheap tax and good fuel returns.

Just thought of the biggest problem with this car, its hard work washing the roof !

Changed To This Car From A 130 Bhp Ford Mondeo Ghi

changed to this car from a 130 bhp ford mondeo ghia x tdci, had all the bells and whistles.Upon buying my 2.0hdi picasso from Batley car sales, got an immidiate shock when the dash array told me of an overspeed warning, god I thought, i've bought a lemon, not so, apparently this is a setting you can use to warn you if you exceed a preset speed,Phew!, next, i thought I had a dodgy fuel gauge, wrong again, it was just doing fantastic mpg, example- 72 mph averaging 60.4mpg. having now understood what does what i am pleased to say what a bloody fantastic car!!!. Best mileage so far 267 miles for £23.20. Beat that. The only thing I miss from the Ford is 40bhp, but who wants to fly around at warp speed all the time, only wears the car out sooner.overall a very good car, with brilliant interior space and reliabl to boot.
