Powakaddy Freeway Sport Digital

Bought a digital sport under two years ago. Ok at first but then battery problem started. I've went through four batteries and my fifth one is struggling to get 18 holes on my local course. Popularly and my local engineer are saying that it's my fault and I must be charging it wrong. Basically they have tested and passed the trolley and most recent battery!!! Very disappointed in what claims to be one of the market leaders in golf trolleys.

I have a budget of £650-750 for my wife's birthday trolley and new bag. The Sport came top of her list, especially after a demo in a local stockist. However, this trolley fell to the bottom of her list after we read the 7 reviews posted this year. We can accept that customers with extreme problems are the authors of most reviews, but several commented on the dreadful service from Powakaddy in the event of problems arising. In my experience, a dreadful product and dreadful support make for a dreadful investment. Not a risk I wish to take, so I offer my thanks to the previous reviewers.

I bought a Powakaddy Sport 2 years ago and it has proved to be a horrific purchase, I have had the front wheel falling off twice, battery failed, screen blacked out, taken to engineers 4 times due to pulling in both directions, sent to Powakaddy on 2 occasions and more recently had the wheel shatter when going in a straight line...... The customer service has been appalling from start to finish and would warmly advise to shop elsewhere fro a reliable well manufactured product. I am sure I am not the only person this has happened to as my local Pro shops have stopped stocking them.....story in itself !!! They did offer me a bag as compensation after having no use of my £360 purchase from March-August this year....thanks, it can store the broken parts of trolley !

I upgraded from the useless Freeway 2 to the Sport. I have had 5 snapped axels and the 6th has just snapped again. It collapsed on 2 separate occasions and it took them almost 3 weeks to send out the new nuts and bolts. I had to have 2 new stop, start switches, 2 new wheels, 1 new battery cable. A total nightmare to deal with as well. After reading some of the horror stories on hear I am now going to pursue Powakaddy through the small claims court for a full refund! I would never ever buy another Powakaddy or recommend Powakaddy to anyone, not even my worst enemy!!!!!!!!!

I'm shocked to see all the bad reviews on here I bought my powakaddy sport digital display trolley about a month ago and I couldn't be more happy firstly I got a free powakaddy bag which my pro shop upgraded to the preium for an extra £20 well worth it because I prefer the PVC bag. I got the 36hole battery instead of the 18 for an extra £20 a free trolley Bag and a umbrella holder for £15 so all in £509 which is a good price from my shop as I called around and no one else could match it. And I've not had any problems I followed the instructions for charging the battery and it says to charge a minimum of 12 hours and I was not playing for 2 days so I left it on charge for 48 hours and it works great after playing 16 holes it had only lost one of the 4 battery bars to show you how much charge is in there still and after 18 holes 3 of the bars were still full I've not had any issues and I'm glad I bought it. It looks great it works a treat and does everything I want it to do and everything it says it will do. I like the feature that allows you to send it off for 15-30 or 45 yards in front helpfull when your looking for your friends ball when mine in in the middle of the fairway lol. It would be good if I could add a remote controll to the trolley but that's not the sports problem. My bag is always loaded up and heavy probably around 20-25 kg and it never has a problem. Just thought I'd add my opinion as I was shocked how many of these reviews where bad and this is the first time I've written a review on somthing I bought so that alone should show how happy I am with this product.

So far I’ve had the wheel fall off twice in the middle of rounds, the trolley pulled to the left, 'got serviced', pulled to the left again, 'got serviced', pulled to the right, screen failed, battery died and I've been waiting 4 weeks since.....got trolley back.....pulled left.

And they still want to try and help 'fix the problem' , I just want a refund and by something else....all this in under 2years after forking out £400....treat yourself to something else instead !!!

I'll be advising (as does three local pro's) buy something else, most Pro's don't stock Powakaddy for a Reason.....they're poor quality products and their service matches up as well !!!

Bought my Powakaddy Sports six months ago.

Firstly a bolt and nut came off during a round - frame collapsed!

Then endless battery problems - bough a new battery (not a Powakaddy battery!)

Then the display screen (waterproof?) got moisture in it and I could not read the display info including battery level - have replaced the display screen.

What a load of rubbish for the price!! Would never buy another Powakaddy.

This purchase has been disastrous.within weeks the display fogged up and was clearly not waterproof but it was replaced undwer warranty.Some months later the speed controls malfunctioned and I had a battle to get this repaired under the warranty. 18 months later it went completely and I had to have a major repair involving a complete change to the handle and controls. This was last October 2012 and the repairer said mine was a common problem and told me to expect the bearings at the end of the drive shafts to fail shortly. Guess what they have but it is not a simple repair and involves driveshafts and gearbox. I have decided to replace the trolley and will never buy Powakaddy again.

The powakaddy sport is a great looking trolley, well balanced and lightweight, but the quality is just shocking. I bought the freeway II lithium and after a year it spent 4 months back at powakaddy for warranty issues. they could NOT or would not ? fix the trolley but instead offered me the new Sport lithium at a cost nice cost of over £100.

This new trolley is now 16 months old and the lithium battery has packed up. The battery was returned by an authorised service agent and it has been with powakaddy for 13 weeks !!!

Overall, the trolley has been out of use for over 7 months in just a 3 three year period - DISGRACEFUL

Whatsmore, the customer services are a JOKE. they just refuse to return your calls. I have spent hundreds of pounds on rental trolleys and Powakaddy are just not interested.

Do yourself a favour - buy a different brand like motocaddy or gokart

I bought a PowaKaddy lithium battery powered golf trolley. It was expensive and I was informed the battery was long life. It was used about 40 times and lasted 4 weeks more than the guarantee and then failed. PowaKaddy refused any repair or refund and they cost nearly £340 to replace. Total waste of money!¬
