I Really Don't Know Why Some Of The Comments In Ot

I really don't know why some of the comments in other reviews have been made (obviously each to their own!) as I've found the Sony Ericsson P900 one of the best phones I've ever owned. It does everything and more I could wish. It DOES take a 128mb Memory Stick Duo which is eaten up quite quickly if storing things like MP3's (2 albums?) but the quality of video picture and sounds is excellent especially when listening through the enclosed headphones. I would like it to be a bit smaller but the screen is great in both quality and size. I have been using it for over a year and syncing with Outlook via Windows XP has been no problem at all.

I Am Now On My Fourth Sony Ericsson Phone And I Ca

I am now on my fourth Sony Ericsson phone and I can honestly say that if haven't got a bad word to say about them.

I bought my p900 about a month or so ago and it is fantastic. The interface is very easy to use, it takes a couple of minutes to get used to it as it is nothing like an ordinary mobile phone interface, but then it is no ordinary phone. The capabilities of the phone are pretty much endless. I use the calendar feature every day, setting alarms for meetings or to remind me to pay bills or just to remind me that my teas in the oven so it doesn't burn. There are dozens of programs available for download for the phone, so if it doesn't do what you want it to do then just download the software and it will, it is that easy. But having said that, the software that comes with the phone is quite extensive; though some programmes are only demo's and you have to buy it for it to work fully. My only niggle is that the memory stick supplied is only 32mb, which can be eaten up quite quickly, especially with mp3's, programmes and games. I bought a 128mb memory stick duo (which is the largest compatible one) for £35 from ebay and now I can pretty much download what I want. If this would be an issue for you then look at the p910i, it's pretty much the same phone but has a much bigger built in memory. In short, it does everything a PDA does and more and I would definitely have one again. If you just want a phone to act as a phone then this isn't for you as you would never use all the applications and lets face it, there are a lot of prettier and smaller phones out there. To call it a gadget doesn't do it justice, it is much more than that. it does everything but make the tea and I wouldn't be without mine.

I Love This Phone!!!! I Got It So I Could Tak

I love this phone!!!!

I got it so I could take notes in college and then synchronize with my PC. It does this brilliantly!!!

I have bought some extra memory and downloaded my favourite tracks - excellent sound quality.

Emailed small videos from my holidays around europe - another excellent!!!

Takes really good photos for a titchy lens as well.

The only problem is that I can't hear the ring tone that well all the time but it is so big that I can find it really easily in my handbag.

Downside is that I've had to buy new bags as none of mine had pockets big enough for it - well maybe that's not such a downside after all - ;)

The Sony Ericsson P900 Is An Outstanding Phone/org

The Sony Ericsson P900 is an outstanding phone/organizer. I have previously owned two Nokia phones (good), a Samsung (ok to good), a Panasonic GD87 (poor), but this one is head and shoulders above the others. Must put that in the context that I wanted an organizer as well as a phone in one, which is not everyone's requirement; if all I needed was a phone I'd still go for the smaller phones that you can tuck in the front pocket of jeans and not know it's there... you can't say that about this phone, which may be a good or bad thing depending on how you like to wear your jeans!

Mundane things first - the P900 has an excellent battery life and good security options (for sim and device).

If, like me, you've ended up going for Sony system compatibility, the memory stick is extremely useful to move data between devices.

As for the sexy stuff, well...

Yes there's a video camera, stills camera, music player, games, bluetoothand IR links, and GPRS/web function, and a sound recorder, which are all nice but not used that much by me because I still haven't got used to them being there, so not used very much, but very good all the same.

The feel and controls of the phone, and the options available, are outstanding, utilizing a combination of jog/shuttle control and standard buttons which are not fiddly, and do the job well. The joy though, is the clear, bright and reliable touch screen, and the capacity for storing contact and diary data. You can handwrite, draw pictures, or use a virtual keypad, keep a taks list, and do pretty much what you can do with MS Outlook on a smaller scale (and of course cross-load info to your pc.

If you, like me, need to be much better organized on the move, this is the benchmark phone of the moment.

Sony Ericsson P900 - If You Have Mcafee On Your Pc

Sony Ericsson P900 - If you have McAfee on your PC expect trouble trying to backup. Fitst you will have to turn off the virus scanner and the firewall and ensure they don't start at reboot, then you have to reboot and then you have a one in three chance of being able to backup or install software. Sony Ericsson claim that the P900 syncs with Lotus Organizer so I bought it specially. BIG mistake!

Lotus Organizer has some very good points, BUT it is old software aimed at US executives. It won't even show the mobile phone numbers of your contacts as standard - you have to tweak each contact separately. And the diary software is incompatible with the P900 as it won't sync birthdays, anniversaries or other all day events or repeating events. What a shame! Great phone, rubbish software.

The P900 includes a nice little MP3 player. It comes with a 32Mb memory stick duo so doesn't have much room for music. And it won't work with memory sticks bigger than 64Mb. Again, what a shame.

You mention that it wont work with sticks larger than 64MB, but on my phone i am using a 128MB stick and it works perfectly.

As The P900 Is Currently The Most Expensive Mobile

As the P900 is currently the most expensive mobile on the market I was expected great things from this device; I was sadly dissappointed. I was looking to upgrade from a Panasonic GD87 so whilst I had both devices I was able to compare them. I would go as far as to say that the camera quality on the P900 is the poorest I have seen on any mobile. When taking a picture you are forced to use a tiny box view finder and not the full screen. There are different ambient settings, I noticed that the indoor one gave everything a blue tinge. When lighting is poor you can forget it; it picked up only the faintest outlines, whereas the GD87 took a decent picture. The camcorder was similarly poor quality. There is no slide show option for looking at photos meaning you need to scroll through them manually (is this too much to expect on a smart phone? the XDA 2 has it.) To expand the woefully memory or to enhace the software meant purchasing accessory materials, in addition remember to the already hefty price tag. Tiny keys made texting awkward for me anyway and the stylus was so tiny it was pretty useless. After downloading the Rally game supplied on the CD Rom the memory was full. I returned this phone within a few days. If this is your first camera phone and you are looking for modest PDA functions then you may be happy with this phone. But for a top of the range device it is a total let down and woefully over priced.

The Sony Ericsson P900 Was My First Smart Phone, B

The Sony Ericsson P900 was my first smart phone, before I had a Nokia 6310. Got it on a bit of a whim, free upgrade from Orange business.

Broadly speaking I'd says it's a great device, but with a few significant flaws.

Most annoying was the lack of Bluetooth hands free protocol, Unlike previous SE phones, the P900 will only work with the SE Car kit, or with a basic headset protocol (with very limited functionality)

So if you have a fancy car with built in Bluetooth support you're in for a disappointment! This seems really stupid.

As a phone it's not as good as the Nokia - when the screen powers down you can't see anything, so very difficult to see missed calls etc. The screen visibility in sunlight is awful, but This is true of most colour LCDs - eventually they'll start using daylight visible displays, but that will ad a couple of dollars to the build cost.

Battery life is a couple of days at best - less if you use other functions. Bluetooth seems to reduce life considerable.

Random crashes can be an issue - I've stopped using it as an alarm clock!

Contacted SE tech support re Bluetooth and a couple of other issues - absolutely useless.

I Am Not Worthy. The Sony Ericsson P900 Phone Has

I am not worthy. The Sony Ericsson P900 phone has everything you could ever want. I'm only 17 but blooming hell I don't think that I will be getting rid of this for sometime yet (or until there is a newer version released to the general public.)

Like most teenagers I use MSN messenger a lot, guess what? You can have it on ya phone and it works perfectly.

I'm also a big games player. Guess what? This has Doom, Pac-man, Mario, Sonic, Space Invaders, Wall Breaker, Outrun, V-Rally and lots lots more all available to download to your phone to play on your way home.

I can surf the full world wide web using its built in html browser. or failing that you can use the ever ready GPRS or WAP settings.

Video capture and messaging, are not supported on most networks unfortunately but I was able to put in my mum's Orange sim card and I could send my video clips to my mum's new Nokia 6600 which was using a spare Pay as you go Orange sim card.

It was a god send as I decided one day to take my girlfriend shopping around London. Not only did it for some reason get the people behind the desk to take me more seriously (it has the same sort of effect as driving a jaguar s-type into a Honda dealership and saying that you want to buy a car), but due to the fact that I had downloaded the entire map of London, it guided me back to train station when we got lost. I cannot praise it enough.

It also features the email feature so you can download all your emails whilst on the move. This thing also opens up all your attachments that may be included. It has the ability to open all Microsoft word and Microsoft word files as well.

It has built in memory of 16mb but I have also installed an extra 128mb duo stick which cost £30. A 32mb duo card was included in the box.

The computer connectivity is second to none. I can download a shed load of programs, files to the phone in a matter of seconds. All the necessary equipment is included in the box when you buy it. You can use Bluetooth, data cable or infra-red to connect to the computer.

The touch screen is such a pose. It's fabulous when you pop out the stylus and start to literally write your messages out with the touch screen and stylus. Take that button tappers!!!

I don't think I could be without this phone.

The only bad points is that it cost me £525 to get on Pay as you go and the power button is located on the left hand side of the phone.

If your company offers to buy you any phone or you are looking to get a phone on contract, BUY THIS PHONE!!!!!!! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT UNLESS YOU BREAK IT, AT WHICH POINT YOU WILL BE HEARTBROKEN UNTIL IT'S REPAIRED!!!!!!!!!

Hey PhilHarris68 im also a teen p900 owner and I agree with all your comments, I think this phone will last me some time. I'd just like to ask you where you can get MSN messenger and some of the games that you mentioned for your p900. I've downloaded V-Rally, but as you might know its really hard to play with a stylus. Apart from Chess and Solitaire, thats the only game I have. I've also downloaded loads of programs for the P900 with the Sync Station and I was wondering if you have found any other sites where there are a more extensive range of programs.

Any advice would be appreciated,

Thanxs, Jonno
