I Bought One, But Only Lasted One Season Before Tw

I bought one, but only lasted one season before two of the batteries died. Also the controller set gave up the ghost and I haven't been able to get a replacement. Tried ordering one from the factory in China and after wiring the money to their bank still no controller. They stated many excuses why the bank wouldn't release the money etc. This cart and the company should be avoided by everyone. They have only a few places in North America that handle these golf carts and they all give up as dealers or are fly by night operations out to get a quick buck and offer no service. Think long and hard before you buy, I loved the idea of this golf cart but I got busted a poor produce and a worst supply and service system.

These Frontier E34 Electric Golf Buggies Are Well

These Frontier E34 Electric Golf buggies are well designed but cheaply produced. Therefore continual maintenance is of prime importance. Their low value appearance on the second hand market enables them to be returned to a better than new condition very cheaply. The batteries require upgrading from 20AH to 24AH and changing them is somewhat fiddley rather than difficult. As all the wires are either black or red you should ensure that each wire is clearly marked so that they can be returned to the correct locations. Check all connections as the original crimping is a little slap dash. The drive chain can be noisy and requires adjustment and lubrication in the same way a motorcycle chain does. Wheel bearings need to be re-packed with grease to avoid rumble and undue wear. The fibre glass body shell requires rubber washers fitting to all locating points to cut down on rattle. Changing to lock nuts and shake proof washers also pays dividends. The brake cable requires lubrication and adjustment to get the best out of the rear disk brake. Initially the steering can feel vague, owing to the fold down column feature, but you quickly get used it. A good dose of WD40 on all moving parts pays off in the long run. The motor is adequate but if you really wanted to improve performance then it could be rewound be warned this is not cheap. To be fair, don't expect a Rolls-Royce but with a little effort you will get tremendous value and service from a low cost second hand buggy.

Can anyone tell me the name of the place that I can get replacement parts please?

Your review is very helpful and I was wondering if you have any knowledge of the Fourstar buggy which looks very similar to the Frontier. I have recently purchased a secondhand one with the knowledge that it was running very slow and hoping that I could getting operating properly again. When the ignition is switched on that battery indicator suggests that all 3 batteries are fully charged. A red light is visible alongside what looks like an engine symbol. That motor runs but very soon decreases in revs and the red light flashes. I've looked at how the batteries are linked and they are as follows: battery 1 = positive to bat. 2s negative and negative to mains connection. Battery 2 positive to to bat 3s negative. Battery 3s positive to fuse which continues to mains. Any help would be much appreciated.

I found this review very helpful because..I hAve one of these chinese 3 wheel buggies. I have had to change the batteries to 22 amp gel batteries. The supplying company seem to have disappeared and there is no back up. The braking system on my buggy is not working and I do not have a handbook to show me what to do.

Sorry But This Machine Should Not Of Been Cleared

Sorry but this machine should not of been cleared for 'CE'approval.

Batteries (Chinese make)after a short while of usage start to swell deform and crack resulting in immobilising the scooter.

Battery voltage of 36Vdc @ 55Ahr rating minimum requirement.

Wheel bearings weak. Cannot support for a long period of time a person over 95Kgs without producing friction noise from the wheel hub.

750W motor insufficient to accomodate a large person + set of clubs.

Steering assy noisy too much play.

Actual design good, but based on the average size of a chinaman not European or larger still American materials quality of parts used are poor.

Finally 'Aftersales care and support in the UK and from MFG China non existance.

I found this review somewhat helpful because he obviously gave a clear view of his own experience with this golf buggy. I found the equipment to be of a reasonable design and quality which however, needed regular servicing. The batteries, once replaced with Lucas the 12V 22AH type were more than adequate. The wheel bearings required to be repacked and adjusted, the chain greased and adjusted and the brake cable tightened. Most of these minor problems I encountered were atributable to the importers failure to carry out the PDI correctly. Overall, I found the cart very good value for money.

The Buggy Is Very Noisy And After 5 Months The Bat

The buggy is very noisy and after 5 months the batteries failed to complete 18 holes on a fairly level course. It has several design faults and in my opinion should not be sold in its present design. I took the buggy to a specialist battery company who confirmed the batteries were not powerful enough. They would not give 6 months guarantee on new ones. The importer, Act4Golf. has replaced the control unit and the motor but this has had little or no improvement. So it looks like the scrap heap after less than a year. Buyer Beware.

If you had as much trouble as you say why didn't you take action using the Sale of Goods Act under the fit for purpose section?

There Is Little Or No After Sales Service. My Supp

There is little or no after sales service. My supplier in Sherringham, passed me on to the imported Act 4 Golf. So far, I have been unable to speak to them as they are always on answer phone. My advice, look for an alternative, with a good after sales service.

Practical & Fun To Use. Ideal For Golfers With Ba

Practical & fun to use. Ideal for golfers with bad joints, as you can just walk on to it from the back. Need to lean in to bends to prevent lifting a wheel on faster tight turns, but you get used to it quickly. Build quality is OK, but a lot of buggy for the price. Better equipment can be bought, but it'll cost a lot more!.

I found this review very helpful because it was an honest view of a cheap buggy. If you want a Rolls-Royce you have to pay for it. Low cost buggies will always be made cheaply and therefore require more maintenance. Luckily, the build costs also make for simple design and therefore most people are able to manage the equally simple maintenance required. The downside to this is sourcing replacement parts which are difficult to obtain from the importer and therefore sometimes require alternatives to be modified. A good set of batteries and replacement chain and wheel bearings go a long way to improving the buggy.

The Electric Motor On My Frontier E34 Electric Gol

The electric motor on my Frontier E34 Electric Golf Cruiser is extremely noisy. The golf bag holder metal is too thin and it keeps breaking. It had to be modified, and it is hard to get to the batteries.

The after sales service is rubbish if you purchase from the seller at Rugby.

I agree with Mike61 it seems to me that he wanted a Rolls-Royce for Lada money.

Diydoctor

I did not buy the golf cruiser but I bought another buggy (FRONTIER HillCrest 800W Electric Golf Cart) from the seller i.e. eeziweb.co.uk and have never seen or ridden such a piece of rubbish in my life. The instructions actually say " Do not use on bumpy ground" and "Do not get wet". The footplate was broken when it arrived and the handlebars had rust on them. I can get no answer on the phone and no response to emails.

I certainly do not have a grudge I only commented on what I found , I have never heard an electric golf buggy as noisy it sounds like a wailing banshee, I have had so many complaints from other players who are 2 or 3 holes away it is ridiculous, I have to look around to make sure no one is preparing to hit a ball or take a putt.

mike61

Alf sounds like a guy with a grudge to me!. Bet there's another side to his story. Mine has been easy & fun to use, & great value.

Please can you advise upon which model you bought and from who you bought it from?

Kind regards

dizzy4750

Where can I buy a controller for a fourstargolf cruiser?

siddenham

I have an early version model with large green and yellow motor wires. The printed circ: number in the controller is YK39-3. My problem is, that some nasty person pulled the wiring out from the controller and cut off the connectors to each switch and the throttle. Taking them with them once they'd finished. It's the old model throttle and i'm having trouble with re-connecting it. It would appear that there should be 3 red wires coming from the controller I have two. is this right and what colours go with what??? Has anyone got a wiring diagram for this particular model, any help would be greatly appreciated.
