The Snooper S6r Neo Is A Marvellous Device When Us

The Snooper S6R Neo is a marvellous device when used in conjunction with the laser/radar detector. Ample warning of fixed sites and good warning of active mobile sites if their traps are aimed at you. A few spurious alarms given by automatic doors in roadside shops but hey, a few spurious warnings or a few unwelcome points? The choice is yours, get one, get something, fight back!

Doesn't Get The Mobile Speed Cameras, I Got A Spee

Doesn't get the mobile speed cameras, I got a speeding ticket 4 weeks after I bought it, it was a mobile police car camera in M6.

I don't recommend this.

Prices Are Now About 1/2 What I Paid So Are A Barg

Prices are now about 1/2 what I paid so are a bargain and I've reflected this in value for money rating. I too find myself following the limits much more closely or even slower! Some might want to go the combined SatNav/speed camera detector route. Some say that laser alert is usually too late and because it rarely sounds is unfamiliar.

Snooper S6r Neo Gps Performance Excellent , But Wo

Snooper S6R Neo GPS performance excellent , but would recommend you get cheaper model without radar head. This head is a waste of space detects nothing. False alarms on anything anywhere no matter where I site it in the car. It has never yet detected a laser or mobile speed trap even when aimed at me.

Little stupidities with the display like speed reading in very small fonts that you need glasses to read but time in large easy to read fonts, did I buy this to tell the time or monitor my speed. Now I have owned one I would not purchase another. I would try one of the other brands.

After A Glowing Commendation From A Colleague I Bo

After a glowing commendation from a colleague I bought one of these for £345 including the RLD radar device. Had problems downloading which were resolved after the Snooper team 'bumped' their server. It was probably a feature of my vehicle but I couldn't mount the main unit anywhere it could be safely seen by the driver and in daylight the display is pointless. I probably had a bad experience or was just unlucky but at least my dealer gave me a full refund when I returned it after 8 days. I was offered a S4 at a discount but I think I'll just stick near the speed limits and keep the money in my pocket. Don't forget radar detectors will be illegal next year (GPS OK tho').

I Purchased My Snooper S6 Neo After Towing My Cara

I purchased my Snooper s6 Neo after towing my caravan in to wales and going past 3 seperate speed enforcement camera vans on the same day. Fortunately as I was towing I was not traveling too fast, otherwise I could have lost my licence in one day. my S6 was purchased localy for just short of £400 and I fitted it in about half an hour. The unit fits on its own bracket inside the car where you can see it and the GPS Antenna fits with velcro to the dash board or rear parcel shelf and then just plugs in to the main unit, the seperate radar laser detector comes with a selection of brackets and can be mounted inside the car or under the bonnet this also just plugs in to the main unit. one point to note is that the gps antenna will not work through some windscreens (renault and citroen in particular), this is a problem with all GPS systems.

Since I fitted the system I have been amazed at how many cameras there are that you just do not see, this is especially true with the truvelo system whos cameras look like cctv units, the m6 is absolutely covered in them. The unit had a problem when first purchased and would be very eratic in logging on to satelights but this was sorted when a new antenna was sent out to me and the unit has now worked without fault for over a year. There are other makes available but after lots of research I found that nothing else had the same features and style as the S6 Neo and in my opinion it was worth the extra £20 above the Origin and Cyclops units.

A waste of money? yes if you can keep to the speed limits, for the other 99% of us it is an essentiall tool to have in your car. Highly recommended. the only down side is with regards to value for money, I think 4.95 is too much per month, you should be charged per download.

How do you find the unit now that you have had it a few months? is it any better/worse? Your comments would be appreciated.

I Decided To Invest In A Decent Speed Camera Detec

I decided to invest in a decent speed camera detector -Snooper S6R Neo, after receiving my second set of 3 points . My cheap £100 Snooper was not very good and gave lots of false alarms. I looked around and decided on the Snooper S6R Neo with optional radar/laser module. I bought it from http://www.speeding.co.uk for £395, and it arrived two days later. Then you need to register and pay £4.95/month or £99 for 2 years subscription before you can download the camera locations.

After that, it was in the car hunting for Gatso! It found some I didn't know about, but also failed to pick up a few I knew about (A556 between M6 and M56).

When it detects a Gatso, Truvelo, Specs, Mobile etc. It displays the type of camera, distance up to 500M, the road your on, and the speed limit your in. If it fails to pick up the camera via GPS it will detect them with the Laser/Rader module. Other GPS detector either only rely on the GPS or have radar detection, but not laser as well.

You can program your own coordinates for fixed camera it's not picked up, and then upload them next time you download from Snooper.

The radar/laser unit can be installed under the bonnet (for cars with sun shielded windscreen glass) or windscreen mounted.

Money well spent. Highly recommended.

Since purchasing the S6R, I've probably driven more carefully because I've become more aware of the speed limits.
