Lamentable Support
I am currently locked out of my customer account. I can't report this to Strato because access to their mailing system is only available after logging in.
There is no UK telephone number. The number in Berlin is staffed by racists who try to tell me to learn German.

I know about WHOIS and I don't mind my personal information being displayed based on a domain name. Strato also informs you about this in its Privacy Policy. But what I didn't know, AND STRATO SHOULD KNOW, was that there are websites/companies providing an illegal service which is called 'reverse WHOIS lookup', website/companies such as: domaintools.com, whoisology.com, whoisxmlapi.com or who.is.
That means that now anyone can visit such a website, fill MY NAME (!) in as search term and see where I live, what my phone number is, what my e-mail address is, what domain names I own etc. I think the most of 1,5 million people who are customer of Strato don't realise this.
Strato, the personal information of your customers is being (ab)used/sold without their permission, do something! I didn't trusted you my personal information to be abused like this. Take some legal actions against the websites such as domaintools.com!

This pieces of shlt refused to update my DNS contact details after requesting a paper form/application to be signed and submitted with the updates.
Their management system if pre-historic!
I will never buy anything from Strato AG or their other companies, such as Cronon AG.
Their management team is also something totally virtual. They just don't give a shlt and don't even have an ombudsman.
DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM STRATO AG.
IF YOU ARE A CURRENT CUSTOMER CHANGE IT BEFORE THEY GO BANKRUPT!

If you see a good review for this company, I can pretty much guarantee that it will be fake.
They have a habit of just switching your server off as they wish.
This means you have no access to the server, websites or emails.
Your customers will be on at you like you are costing them thousands.
And in the meantime, they ignore you.
If your server starts a DOS attack on another website, an idea would be to assist the customer in isolating the cause and shutting down that domain.
Not strato, they will delete your account off and say you were abusing, give no details when asked and then ignore you.
Seriously, if you are serious about what you do AVOID THESE CRIMINALS they have no empathy for you at all.

Strato have taken my money, charged me twice for different packages and then tell me they have refunded my money when they clearly haven't. I would never use them, they do not intend returning my money and if an English company I would be going to trading standards. Stay away from this company

Abuse To Clients
Although being a German company, the service is bad. Pe In three days nobody has contacted to explain why the access to the webpage has been cancelled. The Spanish affiliate of strato is desperate, but they say that they cannot do anyting as the abuse service is located in Germany and they have a considerable delay in answering the complaints, which are constantly increasing. They suggested us that perhaps a virus had entered in the webpage.
No explanation of why the webpage has been closed, in spite of having reviewed it and that no virus was found. they have been informed but no answer has been given.
We are in the hands of negligent and clien-unfriendly providers.

Utter Rubbish
Just awful. You have to keep downloading java to upload files and there have been many times java crashes so I can't do anything. If you want to cancel a domain name you have to do it far in advance or they make you pay again.

Brilliant Telephone Support!
I am useless at ICT but have had Strato run my website for several years. I have only used their telephone help line & the UK helpers have been amazing-very patient and helpful.
I am hoping to revamp my site shortly and my ICT whizz helper says that Strato don't have good reviews and they don't have the most up to date Wordpress package- which is apparently a problem. Seems a shame as they have been good for me and quite economical too.

Worst Interface And Customer Support
I just ordered a virtual server for the period of a month with the intent of testing it's actual performance.
1. First I had problems just getting access to the server. I used their "customer support" since the information in the console are sparse. It took me about 20 minutes until I managed to actually talk with someone. And guess what, their employee hang up on me after 3 seconds. I didn't even manage to finish my question. The second time I managed to actually talk with someone.
2. The actual performance of the server was ok. So as long as you don't ever need to change anything strato might be ok for you.
3. I want to cancel the virtual server subscription. The user interface is so bad, I seem just redirect me between strato and stratoconfig, forgetting my authentication, and having me reenter my user and password in an endless loop. Guess I have to call customer service again...

Worst Hosting Company Ever!
Stay far away from strato!
They disabled my server due to a outgoing DoS,and it took 4 days to get a response from them.I asked them to provide the log files of outgoing traffic so i could check the so called DoS attack,but they are just ignoring my request.I think the whole DoS story is just BS and they disabled my server due to high bandwidth use.
