Awful Customer Service
Sofa cancelled at 7pm the day before delivery, left a voice message which started with HI BABE. As I received my time slot I let my sofa go. The department I need to speak with shut at 5pm!
Call the book a delivery team if I want the same colour sofa I have to wait eight weeks, pick a different colour then have to wait five days with no sofa.
Offered free delivery for the replacement sofa even though I had already paid for a delivery that hadn’t happened!!!
Stay away from Next a shocking service.

Absolute Waste Of Money. Poor Quality
VERY POOR QUALITY. Cushions just collapse, so uncomfortable- biggest purhase mistake. Money wasted.
Terrible Delivery
Delivery drivers are utterly awful. Refused to deliver, despite being given multiple options of where to park. Then misleading customer services about there being no space. We now have to wait an additional month for our sofa.

Don't Consider It
I bought a Next michigan sofa - lovely and comfy instore. It was delayed by 6 weeks, since I'd already got rid of my old sofa I was left using dining furniture in the interim. The sofa looked lovely, however immediately I noticed the seat cushions constantly slip forward so you're forever adjusting them. Then after 6 months I could no longer use this sofa. It started to creak alarmingly every time I sat on it (and I sit, I don't flop down). After a number of contacts with Next I eventually got a furniture guy out who repaired 2 broken springs(I know this was the problem as I removed the base covering myself and tried to fix it - and I can't begin to describe how poorly made this sofa is, the fixings are shockingly flimsy). So about 3 months later the sofa was creaking again. Next constantly try to put you off, putting obstacles in your way if you try to report a fault. They even tried to tell me I wasn't the person who bought the sofa. It was horrendous - 4 times in a row they just kept saying they couldn't find my account, then they had no record of me, etc. I gave up, and periodically would try again but a bit halfheartedly cos I know they wriggle out every chance they get. They've just informed me that I can't get the sofa fixed again as it's out of warranty. Sofology and the proper sofa companies have 10 or 15 year warranty, Next has 3. Says it all, really. Their sofas look nice but are destined for the tip within a year.

Terrible Quality
Bought a Stamford high back and Erin button back for our new build house in Nov 23 after spending time looking around and trying them in store. The Erin came first and needed replacing due to the frame squeaking every time you breathed anywhere near it. The new one arrived reasonably quickly. A week later one of the buttons fell off so Next said we had to have a man come and inspect., we clearly can’t be trusted! The seats are lovely when plumped up but after about an hour of sitting on it, your sat on the frame and have to plump up again. The (independent) bloke came and couldn’t fix the button as he had to order it. He gave us a lesson on plumping up cushions and said we need to do this every day! Waited about 3 months for the bloke to come back with the button to fix it but nothing. Called next and they said he hadn’t requested the button. He eventually came back a month later and fixed it. A week later another fell off! There has been a stale smell in the room where the Erin is, the kitchen. We have eliminated everything other than the sofa but it seems to be coming from this? So another call required to next to fix another button and try to explain that there sofa stinks (actually stinks), and not from anything we’ve done to it!
The Stamford: totally different to what was being sold in the shop, the foam of the seats was like sitting on concrete. It went back a week after delivery.
Next used to have a really good reputation for providing quality furniture. I wouldn’t go near any of it these days, it’s totally rubbish!

£2.5k Sofa Disaster: Next’s Shocking Customer Service
We purchased a sofa from Next a few months ago, and unfortunately, it has developed a sag in the corner section. The main part of the sofa, which uses springs, works perfectly fine. However, the corner section, where more support is needed, uses elastic bands instead, causing you to sink into the seat.
We contacted Next's support team, and they arranged for a third-party company to inspect the sofa. When the inspector arrived, he agreed that the sag wasn’t normal and suggested that the manufacturer might not have tightened the rubber support bands enough. He said Next would follow up with us, but we heard nothing.
After 20 days of waiting, I called Next again, only to be told that the inspector had reported everything was fine and no action was needed. They hadn’t informed us of this until we reached out to them. I tried explaining the situation to customer support, but I received no help. They only said they’d try to speak to the inspector again.
I’m extremely disappointed. We paid £2.5k for this sofa, and we definitely expected better quality and service. Since we’re still within the first six months, we are entitled to a repair under UK law. If that fails, we are eligible for a refund. As Next is refusing to resolve this, we will be applying for a chargeback with our credit card company.
I was thinking of purchasing 2 of the above, but after reading your experience & Review. I’m very sceptical. Given what you’ve paid for what you expect to be of excellent quality, surely not what you received. More so the inspector seriously needs sorting out given he’s been no use at all. Thank you you’ve done me a massive favour. Il take my custom elsewhere.

Don’t Buy A Sofa From Here!
We spent a small fortune on what we thought was the perfect sofa for our new flat. We tried the display version multiple times before placing the order, however what was delivered was far from the same quality. We tried to refuse delivery on the day but were told this was not an option (apparently consumer rights mean nothing to Next). The sofa was dirty and covered in black marks as well as the sofa cushions being lumpy and uneven, each cushion had a totally different amount of filling. We were told a sofa tech would come out, which they did and were able to clean the marks off, however even he agreed the sofa cushions were not stuffed correctly at all and stated he would pass this back to Next. All I received after this was an email from Next saying they understood we were now happy with the remedy and that was the end of it. We have spent the past 11 months trying to seek help from Next to fix the unacceptable sofa we were forced to have. Nothing. Customer services have ignored us for the past 11 months despite us stating the sofa was not fit for purpose on day one. We have parted with a lot of money for a sofa that we cannot sit on due to the complete lack of support causing back pain. We now sit on the floor in front of our ‘dream’ sofa. It will cost us around £500 to reupholster a brand new unfit for purpose sofa ourselves. Thank you, Next.
Utterly Shameful. Extremely Sad to read another Very bad review regarding Poor quality despite paying lots of money. For what should have been a Sofa made of Exceptional quality.
Shame on Next for treating Customers with little if No regard.. once again Thank you for posting your experience & review.? Il take my custom elsewhere!

Less Than 3 Weeks Old!!
We bought 2 green velvet ashford extra firm sofas. Drlivery service was excellent. The sofas are not even 3 weeks old, sat on a handful of times since delivery and the back cushions are awfully misshapen, sunken and lumpy. Ive taken the inside out and plumped every day for the past 4 days, made no difference. One of the sofas has started to creek already!
I would not recommend these sofas based on the issues so far. Which is a shame because the colour and fabric are beautiful, the seat cushions are firm but comfortable. If id have known the back cushions stuffing were of such poor quality, id have purchased from elsewhere.

Shockingly Impractical
We brought a Next settle expecting quality !
After 4 weeks we noticed it was extremely uncomfortable and the cushions just compress we called Next and someone came out to view the settee he unzipped and plumped up the cushions and said that it is written in the paper work that this is a requirement I stated that surely such a factor should be relayed verbally?!
We have suffered what is with out doubt the worst settle we have ever owned and after taking the cushions to a fabric company they could not believe that the cushions are just filled with foam chips basically waste product! And stated that they were under the impression also that Next offered a quality product!
Avoid at all costs spend your money with a company that actually offers experience in selling furniture!

Michigan Firmer Sit Extra Large Sofa
Brought this sofa as i expected a good quality sofa and when it said firm in which i was after i purchased it .
Style looks great and workmanship is top quality but as for firm ! It's like sitting on cotton wool , soft and very unsupportive and overall a massive let down .
I am now looking at taking the cushions to be with firm foam from a upholster which now will cost me a further £220 .
So even thou this sofa looks the part be warned it's far from firm and a massive let down from the description they give .
Q&A
I'm looking for honest reviews on the Gosford Highback sofa. I’m currently in dispute with Next over the Stamford, which is not a year old yet and the quality is awful. Can anyone help?
Has anyone bought the Darwin corner sofa from Next please? I was about to order but the sofa reviews are putting me off (although not seen a review for Darwin).
Thanks.
Anyone purchased the lily sofa? Would like an honest opinion.
The overall opinions on the whole range of sofas are not very promising, next have finally agreed to change my Stamford sofa I’m looking to now have the gosford would rather of had a refund but they declined but can’t find anyone who’s reviewed it
Did anyone find their Next sofa uncomfortablly hard (the seats) when they received it?
Has anyone ordered the next Stamford in the standard cushions rather than the casual comfort as there are a lot of negative reviews for the casual comfort but not a lot on the standard more tailored cushions? Thanks!
Does anybody have eve Next Heath sofa?
Hi Westerton225, I ordered the sofa in tweedy blend and love them. The cushions do slip a bit but not enough to put me of them
I have just purchased two stamford sofas. My husband is happy with them but I am getting backache. Has anyone else had this problem? I am still within the 14 day return period and may send them back but not sure if this is generally a problem with next sofas.
Seen loads of Next Stratus 11 corner sofas on eBay new. Are they any good?
Has anyone else had an odor issue with a Next sofa? We have just had 2 Stamford sofas delivered and they stink! Thinking memory foam or chemical spray.
Hi the only problem we had was their delivery dates everything else was ok
Why are the cushions constantly slipping off the base of the sofa, in addition to the cushion covers twisting round out of line with the inner foam. The back cushions slip down the back of the seating cushions. Cushions themselves don't stay in shape. The back one of the seats which makes up the L shape creaks, the material creases and gets rub marks on it. This sofa has only been here a few months. My last sofa lasted 12 years and looked better than this does after just a few months. We do not have any children living at home now, we treat the sofa with utmost respect. I regularly pump the cushions as instructed. We have had home customer services look at it. They said they would sort out the broken back of chair which is creaking. Not heard anything with regards to that. We were told we would get new cushion covers for the rub marks, which he said looked like we had been scratching them! Told the slipping of the covers and the cushions slipping from the base was just one of those things. Not happy. What can I do?
Hi Allanna, sorry you are having bother with your sofas, since my sofas were replaced I haven't had any bother with new ones. I choose the same style(Garda).only in a different fabric, so I think the problems you are having is caused by the fabric.I would advise you to get on to next and ask for a second opinion, and if you are offered an exchange do not take a chenille fabric as that is what the problem was with mine. Good Luck.
