Had this fridge freezer 5 months now and it started making a very loud cracking sound after a couple of weeks,the cracking is every few minutes.sometimes though you might have peace and quiet for a good 10 minutes,it has even woke me during the night.would i recommend this product to a friend.....yeah when my dog gets its pilots licence.....

Do not buy - it's a load of rubbish! If you put plastic milk bottle in door you cannot put a 2 litre bottle of water lying above the salad compartment - cos the door won't shut!!! Can't put water anywhere else either cos the door storage compartments knock against the bottle and stop the door from closing. Salad compartments 'knock' on the cover/shelf above when you replace them. This one also made an horrendous noise. Only had this for 1 day before I demanded a replacement. Do yourself a very big favour - do not under any circumstances buy this model.

Hotpoint Rfa52P purchased from dixons online april 2009

has been making a banging noise about every 15 minutes for the last 3 weeks. It sounds like someone throwing a stone very hard against my front window.

I called dixons helpdesk as they were the retailer, and they tell me this is normal due to the frost free and the noises will last about a month and re occur every 6 months . waranty runs out in 4 days. dixons say they will charge me a feee of £45 +vat if they send an engineer out and he cannt find a fault !

so my advice would be do not buy this model as it aparantly has a very well know issue that i am experiencing.

Hotpoint Fridge Freezer - RFA52P

We've had our fridge freezer for about 2 1/2 years and 2 of the 3 shelves are now broken! We are only a small family of 3 so l would expect it to last a little longer. Hotpoint customer service have been very disappointing! Why can't they send me replacements via the post? They would rather send an engineer and charge us £110 for the call out and we may still be charged for the replacement shelves.

Am l wrong to expect a frigde freezer to last more than 3 years?

I won't be buying any more hotpoint products in the future as l'm not overly pleased with my dishwasher either! It might work out better value to just buy another freezer?
