Great Music Sound. Terrible For Tv Audio
I bought these to improve the sound from My TV. The Small size appealed and they sounded great with Music in the store.
However when connected to a TV the Bass speaker contunually intrudes and speach became very muffled.
Retuned them for a sound bar which is far more suitable for TV Audio.

£200 Well Spent Unles Your A Hifi Obsessive
Ok so you have parted with £200 like myself, or deciding if you should, in simple terms yes go for it. Allot of people say this is not Hifi quality sound its overpriced, you’re paying for the name, but then again it’s not Hifi price and the name is worth allot, which I will go into below. Were a comparable set of speakers will set you back into the £500+ mark without the sub to get even close to theses.
So the system, well it does what they say on the box great sound unless you’re a Hifi geek and then again why would you be looking at Bose reviews when you should be spending your time on avforum complaining about how bad Bose sound compared to their super £5000 system.
I simply bought the system to go with my TV, ok they are ment for your computer I admit, but hay I think more people now use them as a TV system then with their desktop due to them using a ps3 or Xbox. But in simple terms its small compact and its given a 100% improvement from the built in TV speakers and all without breaking the bank, oh and everyone who hears them comments on how well it sounds, but again I’m guessing there not members of said AV forum.
Now to answer the above on the paying for the name. What people forget with Bose, ok it may be over priced I admit for what it is and you can get better systems for the money and again I again admit this, but the big difference is its hold its value too, unlike 99% of hifi stuff and if you want to change it in a year or so and go more higher end, not that I can think why you would need to but then you will get about 70% of your cash back so win win. Don’t believe me just pop to eBay and see
As my dad used to say who cares what others think if they don’t like it then they don’t have to have one.
To sum up a solid ascetically pleasing system, weather using with a computer or as a TV system, shop around you will pick it up for about £200, set it up in 2 minutes and sit back and enjoy you won’t regret it and if you do then join an AV forum and spend thousands, but it will never be good enough.

In Terms Of Sound It Is Not A Bad Speaker Sy
In terms of sound it is not a bad speaker system. Except that there is a gap in the frequencies between the sub and the satellites.
I have an objective review of Bose Companion 3 on my blog where you can compare it with other speakers that I have reviewed. It is interesting to look at.

I Recently Purchased A Bose Companion 3 Speaker Sy
I recently purchased a Bose Companion 3 Speaker system for my PC. Nothing really wrong with the sound from them (for a PC speaker system) but Hi-Fi this system is definitely not! The sound is more like a reasonable car stereo, so if you are used to the sound of a proper Hi-Fi system like a Quad, Roksan or Linn forget about these before you even consider them and bid a welcome to the wonderful world of processed coloured noise that sounds impressive until it wears on you and fatigues your ears after a relitivly short exposure. However if you want a nice speaker set for your PC to make Windows jingles sound a bit more punchy and you are impressed by that "car stereo" sound, then these are probably right up your street!
One word of warning though... The power amplifier is noisy; there is a constant background hiss and a little buzz (probably from the switch mode power supply within). The noise goes if you mute the speakers by using the touch pad on top of the Bose volume control, but the volume setting does not alter the hiss/buzz. I can hear this sound over the PC fan, so it is quite annoying.
On the good side I am a Radio Amateur and I have found these speakers to be very immune from RF breakthrough. I run 100 Watts on SSB on HF and VHF/UHF and these little speakers don't even whimper. I also have a set of Bose QC3 headphones which are very poor in this respect, but great headphones otherwise.
I was thinking about buying a Bose surround sound system for the TV, but before I do, I'll look out for noise from the power amplifier.

Bought Bose Companion 3 To Free Up My Logitech Zz5
Bought Bose Companion 3 to free up my Logitech ZZ5500 for surround sound in my bedroom. These speakers look great and take up little space however sonicly they are not really upto scratch . I have been an audiophile and music fan for over 20 years and owned much equipment in that time including cd players etc costing £ 1000s. I find it difficult to believe some peoples high scores and comments on this item. BASS IS NOT DEEP the bass that is present is from about 60hz upwards and does not extend to a point where it matches with the mini satalites ( you can increase the volume of the bass but more volume does not mean bass extension ). Result is a sound that will probably appeal to the MP3 generation but in truth lacks midrange clarity and a tight tuneful extended bass.

Small And Looks Good I'd Seriously Not Reccommend
small and looks good I'd seriously not reccommend this product to anyone for the price. Buy a pair of JBLs Control 1 for £49 in richer sounds. Far better value and sounding. the cubes are a bit screechy and toppy and the bass is too thumpy. It seems Bose have missed out a frequency between the sub and the tweeters. The result is a sound that you can't adjust as they haven't included and eq, just a bass compensator.

I Would Not Recommend These Speakers! They Are Com
I would not recommend these speakers! They are comparatively expensive and there is no value for the money which you pay! JBL Spot/Spyro are a lot better and sounds professional than the Bose Companion 3! If you believe in quality and style of the speakers and not the sound, then go for it!

A bit pricy and could look better but apart from that its perfect
