I've Had The 620 For 3 Years Now. I Bought I

I've Had the 620 for 3 years now.

I bought it because it actually sounded like a piano.

Gig'd most weeks with a 12 piece band, it does not sound out of place. used maybe 4 times a year in the Theatre. What a sound!

It's lighter than the Korg that i had before.

The 'Dual' and 'Split' functions come in handy when other members of the band are unavailable. I really like the Feel ot the weighted keys. I couldn't get on with the foot switch that came with it, i found that i chased it around the floor when i was playing. I soon got a Piano Style pedal. Transpose is easy to get to. If they still made the 620 i'd buy another. This is a Great Piano. It's never let me down.

This Keyboard Is Totally Outstanding And Beats Key

This keyboard is totally outstanding and beats keyboards of twice the price. I bought a Rolland RD700 for a friend and to be honest most of the sound on my Yamah dgx were totally superior especially the Acoustic piano sound. It was not just a little better it was outstandingly better. I had the opportunity to have bothe keyboards side by side for a week to compare and while there are some wonderful pads etc on the Rolland the basic keyboard sound were for better on the Yamaha.

In looking around the Yamaha shops and comparing the DGX with the top CP range it does seem that they have put the same grand piano sample in the DGX, which seems incredible considering the price difference. Yes, if I had the money I would go for a CP300, but the difference of over a thousand pounds is too much at the moment. So if you are a little tight on budget, this keyboard come to you highly recommended. One last point. The DGx 630 has hardly any difference to the 620 and you can lpck a 620 up for around £350 which is an amazing deal.

It is good for a student. Nice sound, good display & touch. Only 6 track recorder. 16 track was required. Anyway, this is good for a piano student.
