Lead acid batteries should indeed last more than 12 months however if any product should fail within a warranty period, PowerBug have systems and people in place to help resolve any issue.

The reason in respect of the “push towards lithium batteries’ is because lithium product delivers a better all round experience to the customer. This is measured by performance, durability and usable life span ultimately saving customer frustration and money.

Not sure of the rights and wrongs of each party, but reading the comments from Powerbug, they seemed always slanted to they are always right attitude. A lead acid battery properly charged and used correctly should last a lot longer than 12 months, so one suspects they want to sell lithium batteries at greater profit rather than source good quality lead acid.

if any product fails within a warranty period due to a manufacturers fault, a replacement will have been offered, without question after product testing.

Procedures allowing information and product flow between point of purchase, in this case American Golf and PowerBug are robust and in place to help maintain excellent customer service and satisfaction.

If you had contacted PowerBug before contacting your original point of sale (AG) this would have been explained to you.

All new lead acid batteries are warranted against manufacturers fault for 12 months after original date of purchase.

If questioned, the PowerBug representative would have advised that lead acid batteries do not offer the same performance and life expectancy as lithium.

All golf trolley suppliers will advertise this and explain the benefits of lithium over lead acid and was probably reiterated to you leading to the purchase of your new 18 hole lithium battery.

The PowerBug mini lithium battery is a 27 hole battery and warranted for five years

They retail with a charger at £250.00 and are discounted to £200.00 as an upgrade offer to lead acid users.

This offer is not intended to be derisory but an incentive to interested parties and its a shame that the information offered has chosen to be interoperated as such.

To say that the company refused to respond to customer or outlet is to be kind....inaccurate.

American Golf offer superb service to their customers and have an outstanding relationship with their suppliers

It appears the the lead acid battery was replaced at the point of sale with a new product from the American Golf stock in line with standard returns procedures, the PowerBug warranty promise and The Sale Of Goods Act.

An internal audit will be carried our in relation to this review in an attempt to understand and improve upon this type of issue in the future.
