Vostok Europe K3 Submarine

This watch is far superior to any automatic in it's price range. It also has a very cool Features.I like it.

My father gave me a k3-submarine during a visit recently, Blue Dial SS Case with Leather Strap 2432/0325026 - good looking watch. I have worn it about a week now - my impressions:

- good solid feel and not too heavy.

- A quick-date feature would have been nice, as I had to adjust between 9pm~1am for a full 30-day cycle.

- I wound it once when I set the date and put it on, 10 turns via the crown, didn't have to re-wind at all.

- very accurate, after a week I only had to set it behind a minute.

- the day/night indicator seems a bit late (8am/8pm), red / black color.

Overall I am very satisfied, and was very glad my father is an automatic collector (nearly 2 dozen now) and was able to spare this one to give to me. He has had this for several years, purchased in 2005/2006, served him well on the many occasions he has used it.

This K3 Submarine Commanders watch is, (in my opinion) excellent vallue for money as well as being fantastically smart with its classy blue dial. The watch is accurate with a very smooth function. I am experienced with horology and I found that the screws (seen through the glass back) do not seem to be "blued" in the usual way but look like they are coated, but this does NOT detract from the overall appearance. The stainless steel bracelet is well constructed and adds to the quality of this outstanding watch. However, the date changing procedure is a bit of a pain but if you wear it regularly (which I do not), this should not be an issue.

Don't believe a word of what Irina from Vostok says.

I bought an Amphibia model, it stop after 3 months.

Eventually I managed to find an address to send the watch back under guarantee (my own money), I have never seen it again.

I have sent numorous e-mails to Irina, she has promised all manner of things.

If you do buy one, I just hope it doesn't become faulty.

This is a great watch for the money. To get an automatic watch of this quality for around $200 is unheard of. This watch is far superior to any automatic in it's price range. It also has a very cool feature - a day/night indicator that comes in handy for soldiers on submarines, which is who this watch was originally designed for. A hollow back exposes an excellent 32-jewel automatic movement, as well as the number of the series (3,000 of each model was made - again unheard of in this price range).

My only beef are the hollow end links in the band, but for $200 and all of the other features, this is a minor beef.

If you have been searching for a great-looking automatic watch but didn't want to spend thousands, this is the best watch you can find. Congratulations Vostok Europe for making an awesome watch that is affordable.
