Cubana, Waterloo

Really good, fresh kitchen-food and tropical cocktails in a casual environment. We had some good tapas - the ceviche and chorizo croquettes were excellent; then a marinated sirloin steak and a Cuban dish - a sort of beef hash; finally, some good desserts - lime meringue pie and a choc mousse.

All tasted freshly made and the cocktails and smoothies were also zingingly fresh - the cost was under £25 a head for two-three courses and a cocktail or wine each. There was live music later and the place bounced. Only complaint was service was a bit slow, but they were busy and they apologised.

Haven't been to Cubana Paddington yet but went too Waterloo Cubana a couple of weeks ago and all I can say is, if you haven't been - go. Good food, nice service, good-looking people, great music, late licence. By far one of the best bar and restaurants I have been to in London. I'm going back just as soon as I have let the margarita's work their way out of my system!
