Bought A Used Carburated Super8 50cc
Super 8 2014 model, cheap, 5000 km on the clock, but speedo was broken, it looked maybe up to 10K driven, don't bothered about, put on an 15$ CYPLUS bycycle GPS-speedo....., so far replaced a battery, did usual oil and gearoil airfilter maintenance once a year, breaks are fine, adjusted the carb a little more fatmixed because it stopped sometimes on trafficlights, pretty easy 1/4 turn on the screw inwards on top of the carb, changed the vario to unrestricted by replacing the restricted sleeve by an all flat one, cut the brown CDI-loopcable and by this derestricted the CDI (works with all Kymco 50cc CDI flawlessly, but you have to drive it with an unrestricted variator-sleeve and don't drive maxed out acceleration downhill, in order not to provoke a valve-cylinder-collision). It goes 55 km/h on flat and 60+ up to 70 (steep) downhill. Pretty reliable and biggest 50cc you can buy. Handling at all speeds is very nice, above 65 you get some uncomfortable vibrations, so stay under all is fine. I am 1.87m/97Kg and the scooter is comfortable without any issues up to 1h drives. After that the seat gets a little hard. Very easy to maintain so far, fixed all by myself, needed just some simple tools + a variator-fixation tool for some few bucks.

Great Scooter With Younger Styling
I got this scooter for my 15 year old son who just loves the styling vs. comparable Japanese brands (he was offered a choice). It runs quiet and smooth. The fit and finish are excellent. The styling is a bit "transformer"-like so likely appeals most to the younger crowd. There was 1 hiccup with this scooter discovered after purchase. The scooter would always turn off after about 20 minutes. We took it to the shop under warranty and they identified a wire that was not plugged into the wire harness - turn around was 1 day. Once plugged in the battery could charge vs. drain (which was causing the initial problems). Ever since, the scooter has been bullet-proof. It is ridden on town roads that are flat with no speed limits in excess of 35 mph. This 50cc 4-stroke works perfectly for the conditions, with an out-the-door discount of nearly 1/3 vs. the comparable Japanese brands. No regrets.

Good Looking And Decent Sized Scooter, Very Slow O
good looking and decent sized scooter, very slow out of the crate but once deristricted a totaly different machine. now pulls 50mph all day long, deristrict was by official dealer. main problem with bike is helmet wont fit under seat, apart from that, 100%,even keeps a16 year old from whining all day long..lets hope it lasts the course..this review is for the super 8 2 stroke engined bike.
if you shop around good deals can be had. we paid less than the rrp of 1499 and got a helmet, jacket gloves and the cbt thrown in, kymcos free insurance is only for 3rd party only
The Kymco Super 8 Bike Is A Good Little Run Around
The Kymco Super 8 bike is a good little run around and unlike most mopes it does not sound like a cat being dragged across broken glass.

Note, This Review Is For The 150cc Model. Top Spee
Note, this review is for the 150cc model. Top speed is somewhere around 55-57. Gas mileage is about 80 mpg (first tank was 65mpg, but it improves a lot after break in). During the break in, the ride and the seat are very stiff (uncomfortably so). Stick with it, though... the seat will soften up and the ride will settle in right where it should be... a nice sporty feel that's worthy of the look of the scooter. Overall, this is a great scoot! I would highly recommend it!

Bike Looks Really Nice And It Is Easy To Maintain
Bike looks really nice and it is easy to maintain because you only need to put petrol in, not petrol and oil.

If You Had To Pick A Scooter Then You Should Pick
If you had to pick a scooter then you should pick the Kymco Super 8. I have one and I'm thinking of buying another.
How long does it take to get from 0 to 60km/hr from a stop? For example the Yamaha jog takes 8 seconds
What do you rekon is the best thing about the Super 8?
Q&A
