Landlord Is A Joke
Went to the pub recently over the Xmas period and decided to have a roast dinner. Food was very nice and drinks weren't bad either. However, the landlord, some large foolish looking man, makes the whole place ten times worse. Dressed very scruffy and had piles of rubbish scattered about his desk which was situated on one of the actual eating tables, he also spoke very rudely to some customers whilst making a phone call in the middle of the bar! What was even worse was the fact that on the other side of the bar this oath then fell asleep on a DECK CHAIR whilst watching football. Would have been tempted to come back if it were not for this man, obviously doesn't know how to run a pub or treat his customers. Will not be coming back.

Could Do Better
This pub is just up the road from me . We have been going there for four years about five times a year for meals .The pub is OK.But although I know the name of the bloke who seems to be the manager after four years he doesn't know my name . he never greets you with a cheerful welcome, he never asks how the meal was and did you enjoy your meal ? he never bids you farewell and do come again . Last week he managed to complete my bill payment at the bar without saying a single word . I will continue to use the pub as its convenient in spite of the manager who has the personality of a Flat tyre !
Dont Eat Here!
The rudness of the owner was something else , never a please or a thank you. The waitress was equally rude , the food overpriced , and bland.

Great Local Pub And Good Vaired Pub Menu
we go on holiday to brundall every year (My mum and dad, me and my 4 year old daughter) and we quite frequently eat at the yare.
the landlords are very friendly, and always make us feel most welcome. especially as we always sit in the bar , not the family room, which can annoy some pubs. Also the landlords are always working, which is pleasant to see.
The food is good value for money, and they have a daily special (most meals are £8.99) they also do the staple children's meal (chicken nuggets/sausages beans and chips) which my daughter loves. I highly reccomend the chicken and bacon BBQ melt, and the chilli.
The waiting/bar staff are also very friendly.

Great Local Pub With Good Food
I have read the latest reviews on The Yare Pub. These people obviously have a grievance against the pub or are one of the new breed of visitor who just come away to complain. I & my family have used the Yare Pub for over 20 years & consider it to be an excellent local facility, serving good basic pub food with friendly, helpful staff. The problem with reviews are that the vast majority of satisfied customers do not write reviews, only those few who wish to complain write them. As an owner of holiday accommodation, these people who complain, especially those who book through agencies, are people who complain about everything in the hope that they will obtain refunds. I say to the staff & management of the Yare Pub, keep up the good work.

Stay Away!!
On entering the pub for an afternoon meal we were greeted by The Manager serving at the bar. He was most unwelcoming to the point of being rude!! The staff around him were not much better and were dressed in scruffy clothes!
The glasses were dirty, the tables were dirty, the menu was basic but expected in a pub I suppose!
The cutlery didn't match and was filthy!!
When we finally got our meal the chips ordered with our Lasagne were obviously re-fried I'd say at least five times to point that were just crusty shells with no potato in!
The presentation was like it was just slapped on the plate and whilst attempting to eat some of this meal I had a young lady beside me changing her child's nappy!!!
Yummy!!!
All i can say is i won't be revisiting this place and if you have any standards you won't either!!
If u want a cheap meal with dirty surroundings this is your place!!
We did complain and it was just shrugged off as though it was the norm!
STAY CLEAR of this one believe it or not we aren't fussy but do like cleanliness along friendliness when out paying for food!
THEY ALSO RUN A TWO TEAR PRICING FOR LOCALS AND BOAT OWNERS-HOLIDAY MAKERS IF YOU ARE NOT LOCAL YOU WILL PAY AT LEAST £.50 per pint

Loathesome Vile Management
This could be such a great pub, in a fantastic position.
However there is a slim middle aged balding sullen faced manager running it (if you frequent it you'll know who i mean!) with the personality of a flea.
It would be almost acceptable if he were just Mr Grumpy and boring, but he looks at everyone with complete contempt and disdain, he doesn't hide the fact that that he completely despises his customers!!
It's amazing that in this the worst economic climate in living memory, and good pubs with friendly staff closing every day, this moron continues to act the way he does, and clearly gets away with it.

The Yare Situated About 6 Miles Out Of Norwich In
The Yare situated about 6 miles out of Norwich in a delightful village called Brundall. I go to the Yare often and I find the staff to be friendly and helpful. Overall that atmosphere is very good and will suit everyone. Their is a section just for adults so that they can have peace from family groups and their is an area for eating. The food on the whole is good and the service is helpful and nice. The meals are typical of what you will find in many british restaurants and it is in a lovely location near Brundall Railway station. It is a lovely place to have something to eat and drink and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is in the area or who is passing through Brundall.
Q&A
Does The Yare cater for Coeliac sufferers? Are there any gluten free items on the menu?
