Just Fell For A Scam With Date The Uk. It Lures Yo
Just fell for a scam with Date The UK. It lures you in by sending emails from girls after you've registered then offering one day access for 99p. If you don't cancel within one day you get charged £29.99 but the cancellation code you need doesn't arrive early enough.
The website doesn't have a real phone number (I got a message saying it was no longer in operation) and the profiles don't look real either.
I have joined this site a few times myself, and whilst i have never had trouble cancelling my subscription, i HAVE had exactly the same experiences as you. So why join a few times you ask? Well........i simply needed to find out if the enticement to join pattern was really a scam............and.......IT WAS, and still IS. The format is all the same
1. mesages from people who have never looked at your profile
2. Members with MORE than one profile and using different usernames, and different cities of residence........BUT USE the same pictures?
3. messages from people who have contacted me, but who have NOT READ any of the the replies i sent them to their previous messages.
4. Highly educated (university degrees and masters) members with REALLY abysmal grasps of English, grammar, spelling. Not one word belongs before or after the last English word used, anywhere in the sentence. (e.g ....am coming for here love good man for finding. him like me, GOD FEARING and serious for starting family........etc etc)
5. BEAUTIFUL SINGLE WOMEN members, ALL IN THEIR TWENTIES OR EARLY THIRTIES........... whose deep down character and personality is eventually found to be, that she IS one OR ALL of the following.......ONE EVIL LADY, as BORING as watching paint dry, NO INTEREST IN, or KNOWLEDGE OF or ABOUT ANYTHING, OBSESSIVE, DEMANDING, AND JEALOUS, and TOTALLY untrustworthy with your neighbour, brother, or with your mates as soon as you're out of the house. My conclusions are based on the FACT that " Beauty is only skin deep", and that Women who look like the Girls in these Photographs............DO NOT need to use a dating site, DO NOT need to pay to find a boyfriend, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY......DO NOT go for middle aged, or older men. UNLESS THERES SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH THEM and their personalities, that other previous suitors have discovered to their peril, Women who look like this should have no trouble getting a boyfriend in their own town. This is unfortunate for the Female members of this site who ARE genuine because no one can tell who is real, and who is not.
Most of the time DTUK give a 3-day trial and the cancellation process is quite straightforward.
With regards to Duplex's comment I couldn't agree more... the whole site or network of sites is an exercise in unalduterated scamming. Their latest 'trick' is after contacting someone you find that they were logged on just 20 minutes ago. This obviously is an attempt to get you to think that the person is an active member and encourage you to maintain your membership.
Hope the above is of use to anyone reading this comment... I would add that there are free dating sites out there (google is your friend here) so there is no need to give these scammers any of your money.
In addition to their membership fee collecting problems these are my experiences
Alleged members send messages without visiting your profile.
Members aged 22 sending messages to a male aged 58 who is datetheuk kidding
Profiles on datetheuk also displayed on all easydates customer websites, with no way of telling if they are members of the site you are on. So if you message them and they are not on the site you are a member of they wont receive them unless they sign up to the site you are a members of. This is a good way to take more money off the customer by getting them to sign up on all sites just to view / answer messages.
Many profiles are incomplete or have not been active for months making the site appear to be busy and popular. Suspect many profiles are created by easydate to attract more customers.
I have 3 accounts under different names and guess what I get the same messages on all accounts. Checking the activity reports, these people have not viewed my profile. Strange thing to do send a message to someone you have not seen their details of. Mind you a good marketing ploy for desperate people to join up to view this message that's just going to say "Hi how are you". Respond and you don't hear anything.
Make a complaint and you get a standard message response. The sites below all have the same customer service reps so in effect its one website.
Avoid this site along with its partners.
