Keep Away

Sold me the car of my dreams.

Keys given and when setting off the car had loose wheel nuts, this only became noticeable when I was on the motorway with my daughter.

Pulled over and checked the car to find the wheel nuts were that looks they was near falling off.

This started 12 months ago and I'm still fighting it now as the car has been involved in a bump and hast had the work carried out correctly. To the point the car isn't safe anymore.

They refuse to play ball so we are now off to court!

These people aren't good people to deal with l, they laugh in your face and haven't a clue about customer services!

Never ever buy a car from these.

9k and the cars been a death trap from day 1

Dont Give Them Your Money...

Purchased a car Aug 2015, timing chain went on the car in Sept 2015 and a week later the dfp light came on, took it back and they managed to clear it and the light then came back on in Oct, Dec, Feb, May 2016 and couldnt understand even though done the mileage why its come on as many times as it did as did the mileage needed to keep the filter clear and then asked to swap my car for petrol and they threatened me to speak to there solicitor now...wat a pile of c**p..! Be careful when buying from hpl..about 10 different people answer the phone and no-one returns your call when they should do and you finding yourself chasing them..be warned!!!!

Biggest Mistake Ever

Bought a car, was told how great it was and what a bargain by all the staff who sat laughing and joking (even casual swearing) whilst they gave me free cups of coffee out of their machine. 2 Days out of warranty and the engine management light has come on, turns out this has a major EGR fault and is goona cost about 1000 pounds to have it fixed. Contacted HPL, they said its none of their business and wont help. Awful people, im living on the breadline now, paying £200 a month for a car and now gonna have to find a grand from somewhere to get it fixed. Looks like me and the family are not going on our holiday to greece next year which ive alreday put a £300 non returnable deposit on. My advice, find someone you can trust through a friend if possible when buying a new car, HPL are just another set of sharks after your money.

Poor Experience

The car spec listed on Autotrader by HPL didn't match the real car. It was missing 2 important features. They just laughed it off. I still offered 95% of the price in cash but they chose to watch me walk out the door. I'm quite glad as I've now read some other reviews about after sales "service".

Absolutely Rubbish Aftersales

Bought the car which was pretty painless. Imagine a used car salesman but lazier and you get the idea.

Car advert claimed it had something that it didn't but it was just laughed off. Asked that it be mentioned to the manager... nothing happened. Anyway, picked it up and took it home to clean it properly... their valet consisted of coating everything in awful silicon spray.

Had a question regarding safety equipment, phoned and one guy answered with 'oh yeah we can sort that I'll have him call you"... call never happened. Tried to ask for the MD's email and guess what?... nobody contacted me!!

I was planning to buy another car from them but have obviously not bothered.

I can imagine you'd have massive problems if you had a more serious issue and for that reason, I wouldn't touch them or recommend anyone to buy from there.

Don't Trust Hpl

I recently purchased a car from HPL, After being told it was the directors car from new it has come to light the vehicle has been involved in an accident. I was assured even after contacting them that it had never been in an accident. Audi are telling me it has so i know who i trust!

Steer clear, It even took me 3 months to get the money back they hold as a deposit after transferring a reg across..

the Entire Place Is Full Of Amatures, Do Not Buy

The entire place is full of amatures, do not buy from Hpl Motors not only they dont check cars before sold. They also try to blame and switch issues onto yourself as they dont want to spend any of there own money. Even though paying extra on waranty.

You cant beat 28 days free waranty, or pay £150 for a year and they still dont fork out.

Never will i but from a supermarket again, they only want one thing.

Your money on that day, once your a customer you become second best.

Not how it should be, just keep your eyes open when your there and check the car yourself.

Incompetent Company (do Not Buy A Car From Them)

We bought a Nissan Juke only 3 years old from HPL Atherton. The sale was fine and customer service great. 6 weeks later the car broke down with a gearbox issue. We contacted HPL who said get a quote and email it to us of which 2 days later I did, I called to check they had received it and no shock they hadn't. So I sent it again from 2 different email addresses this time with a delivery receipt, received and opened by the company, so I call them and check and the women who answers  laughs and says no not got it and hangs up. I've now contacted trading standards and the Barclays partner finance of whom still legally own the car to resolve it. I contacted the owner Jonathon Herman who said we should have got the warranty, of which as advised by Trading Standards I politely explained that we are covered by the sales of goods act and you need to prove the car did not have the issue before selling it to us (reverse burdon of liability (or something to that effect)) he laughed and hung up. Do Not Buy The Warranty!!

Sales staff are fantastic! Do not buy the warranty as it isn't worth the paper it is written on!! I purchased an 11 plate fiesta in September last year with the warranty. I started hearing a noise coming from the steering in April. I took it to a local garage and they told me that I needed a new steering rack, checked the warranty book, it was covered. I rang HPL and they advised me to go to their garage in oldham to be checked. It cost £30 to diagnose and after 5 minutes they told me it was the universal joint different to the first garage and that part wasnt covered! HPL had said they disagreed with the diagnosis and gave me a quote to repair the UJ. I tried to speak to different managers at the time but got nowhere! I went with the first garage and I'm glad I did! They installed a new rack and also showed me that the drop links had gone and a bottom ball joint due to the rack needing replacing. They showed me the universal joint BEFORE installing the new rack! All of the faulty items I have had to pay to be repaired were covered under the warranty!!!! DO NOT BUY THE WARRANTY, GO TO AN INDEPENDENT WARRANTY COMPANY

What Checks Do They Do?

I bought a corsa from HPL and did initially try to cancel. I was told by the salesman to go down the legal route to get my £500 deposit back, which I didn't want to do so took the car. You do not get any cooling off period. Driving home I couldn't get the heater to work properly so rang them and was told to bring it in the next day, which I did. I was told by a very uninterested yawning woman that it was a big job and I would need a courtesy car, which she didn't know when they would have one available, so she didn't know when it would be done, she then just walked off! I found the person, who sold me the car who said "don't worry" he would sort it blah blah. Anyway after being told a few times "I'll ring you" and me having to ring them I am still waiting and having to drive a car wearing gloves and a woolly hat in January. I have asked for a full refund so we will see what the outcome of that is. I would not recommend buying from this " family owned company" which is what I was told, don't know if that's true but if it is, I'm glad I'm not a member of that particular family as I would struggle to sleep at night. I would just say thoroughly check any car you may choose to buy to buy from here as their

multipoint check may not cover some things.
