Maxi-Cosi CabrioFix Infant Car Seat

Overall the maxi cosi cabriofix is excellent, I also have the isofix base and wider how I would have lived without it!

I hae been using the system now for over 7 months and the codition of the seat, although used still has a lot of

life left but my daughter is getting to big now!

I will start with the good points:

- being able to put baby into the car without fiddling with the seat belt is a lifesaver

- with the isofix base which I have it seems very safe and very sturdy

- being able to take baby out of the car and just put onto the pushchair is amazing. Especially not having to wake a sleeping baby!

- my daughter has seemed almost always comfortable in the seat

- ver durable 7 months mine has

knocked countless Walls and other things and has only minor scratches

- easy to fasten and unfasten

- perferct for a newborn baby as with the head higher and back support they lie nearly flat

Ok now for the not so good bits:

- it is not as attractive as other seats I have seen, it's a bit boring especially in

black

- it took me a while to figure what to do with the hood as it is hidden in the plastic frame

- the hood is actually almost useless for

me. It does not keep wind, rain or sun from the baby and to keep it up you have to attach it to the handle- it falls off Ll the time or baby pulls it off and it hits them

in the face! Very flimsy material ;(

- the material that the seat is made of must be warm as my

baby always is wet when I take her out- even when it's not hot

- although easy to fasten he shoulder straps have like a padding to stop it hurting the baby. These straps are also flimsy and not that padded and the fall off when the belt is not fastened

- I find the seat very heavy I have from when he was tiny. My baby is now 7 months and I refuse to lift the seat with her in and so leave it in he car all the time.

- the adaptors that attach seat to pushchair are a nightmare as it is hard to get the seat to click into them

however the isofix base that I bought extra to the car seat is brilliant and I have no

complaints abou it at all

Very easy to use - especially with an isofix base.

Seemed comfortable for my baby who often fell asleep once he was strapped into it.

Feels very safe and secure whenever I put my baby in it.

Comes with a detachable newborn insert, so the baby is lying nearly flat from birth, and allows more room once the baby is able to support his/her head when the insert is removed.

Would definitely recommend to a new mum and dad.

A wonderfully safe seat. Easy to fit. Secure seatbelt which is easy to adjust. The maxi-cosi footmuff is well worth it too especially if you use a system which allows you to attach car seat to buggy wheels.

I've got skydiver rather than black reflection but the colour is the only difference. Splash out and buy the easy-fix, or iso-fix if your car has it, base. It will save you grappling with the seatbelt and everyone who has seen mine has gone out and bought one!

I would definitely recommend the Maxi-Cosi Cabriofix - Happy Flower Infant Car Seat. It's functional, well built and works well with the Quinny stroller (and also bugaboo I believe with the adapters). It also works with the Maxi taxi. Everyone loved it when I had it on the Quinny stroller in Canada since it was so unusual. My baby loved riding around in it even in the rain since the rain cover lets her see out and protects her from the weather.
