Wonderful Suite

We purchased a leather Panama suite, (two settees and single chair with foot stool).

It has been remarkable for comfort. The single chair now needs help after 9 years and I am now getting it refurbished.

It has worn very well and although I might like to change it it would be a sin to let it go!

I have removed the detachable arm cushions as they became rather floppy. Looks good without them.

The leather still looks good....I have looked after it!

Not Meant To Last

Paid over £3000 for Panama G-Plan leather suite 2010 from them.

Initially when the suite (2 chairs & settee + poufee) arrived the leather was not taught and 2 of the arms and one back had small holes in it. These were made right/replaced covers. The feet are made of MDF and sprayed to look like mahogany. Not real wood or even veneer.

One of the seat covers: the cream dyed leather is showing black through. Pratts say it's out of guarantee and will only tell me it will cost me £80 to have put right by a recommended company. They relinquish all responsibility for putting it right. Said in a letter to me it was due to "wear & tear". It is not torn and has been carefully looked after. They ignore the fact that another seat, used almost as much has no black showing through. Obviously Pratts could not care less about customer relationship. I would NEVER buy from them nor would I buy anything made by G Plan. Pratts seem to indicate to me that my G Plan suite is only meant to last 4 years before showing signs of "wear & tear". PS only 2 adults have ever used the furniture and no pets.

I took delivery of my G Plan Newmarket Power Recliner 3 seater sofa, and armchair, plus a standard armchair only 6 weeks ago. So far I have had SCS technician out twice and an independent upholsterer sent by G Plan. He says that there is nothing wrong with my furniture. Like you, there is not enough stuffing in the cushions. I was told not to lean on the sides of the cushions as it pushes the stuffing bag over. Also, I need to give the cushions a good thumping each night after use to plump them up. The one reclining end of the sofa keeps dropping and the cushion overlaps the middle section. G Plan chap adjusted the mechanism and levelled it all up. Used it once after he left and it has dropped and overlapped again. After 6 weeks it’s looks a mess.

Was this a G plan recliner as we have had the same problem with a G Plan 'Chloe' recliner

G Plan Shame On You

After spending a great deal of money on a leather sofa and armchair I was more than a tad upset when I saw the back panel of the armchair looked as if it had been made by a work experience student (no offence intended). The leather seams across the back were so wavy I felt sea sick and the panel was not securely fixed at points on one side of the chair. THIS IS HOW IT LEFT THE GPLAN FACTORY! Their response? Not our problem. Enough said.

We also bought G-plan lounge furniture - the leather has worn, the seats have collapsed, I've never been more disappointed. The aftercare service has been expensive - there has been no apology. Our first budget suite lasted longer than the Gplan furniture

As A Previous Happy G Plan Furniture Customer, I B

As a previous happy G Plan furniture customer, I bought two Amber two seater manual reclining settees and two manual reclining chairs in April 2009. When delivered it was obvious the standard of materials, frames, workmanship and overall quality was no better than much cheaper furniture I could have purchased. In fact the G plan furniture was of a very poor standard, it looked second hand.

The local company I purchased the furniture from agreed with my views and attempted to arrange for a G plan representative to visit my home and examine the furniture with us. G Plan stated the dispute was between the local company and myself. G Plan policy is that they will not speak to or visit dissatisfied customers.

Despite several attempts to change the attitude of G plan, they are not interested in customer complaints or the awful standard of their furniture.

I have returned the sad looking items and my local company have refunded my payment.

What a shame a company that had such a high level of customer care and quality furniture has gone to the dogs..... Be warned

This Sofa From The G Plan Panama Collection Was Su

This sofa from the G Plan Panama Collection was such a good purchase, it has remained looking really good despite having 3 dogs and a baby! It has worn well and is very comfy. I would definitely buy again and in fact I am now looking to purchase the matching footstool and there is plenty of like left in the sofa.

I Purchased A Panama Suite From G Plan And Have Ha

I purchased a Panama suite from G Plan and have had it 2 years. The suite has actually fallen and we are sitting close to the floor. I would have expected a top product and brand such as G-plan not to do this. I spoke to the customer service who just weren't interested. They guarantee it for a year but whne you are paying sveral thousand pounds for a suite you would expect it to last more than 12 months. However G -plan obviously don't think it should.

Simple just don't buy one
