Why Did They Change Product Now Lost Customer
Always used this brand for years. Had colour I loved ultra violet dark red, looked expensive and always had great comments in the past. But now things very different found the colour and pack said just new packaging. How wrong they were, totally different mixture no longer have small bottle ultra violet to add that used to put in. Colour came out no where as dark more red than ultra violet. Didn't shine like it used to or last as long. Worse of all looked nothing like it used to and got no comments. Looked cheap and as though NOT WORTH IT ! Changed to another brand hair colour won't change back unless they revert back to the original colour and formula, why change what worked

Interesting Shade - Same Results
This is my review of L'Oreal® Superior PREFERENCE® #9DG (Light Delicate Golden Blonde). I have used this brand many times and have used several shades (Mostly Blondes). The kit is the same as last time I used it EXCEPT: there is more product (2.4 oz. Color Gel + 2.4 oz. Developing Creme) for a total of nearly 5 oz. when mixed. This is very good as long or thick hair usually requires the purchase of two kits for sufficient coverage so this should cover most people with one kit.
They advertise 'Shine Serum' on the package which is supposed to be in the 'Care Supreme' after conditioner but, I didn't see much difference in performance or shine over the old formula. Also, they upped the strength of the Developing Creme (30 Vol.) so the resulting color would be lighter even on darker hair.
The color was a rich gel when mixed and spread quite easily and it seemed a little thinner than the last time I used it but, thats O.K. it covered more quickly and throughly but did drip a little.
The color itself was AMAZING as usual, sparkling, translucent and softly highlighted but NOT terribly different from another shade: 9 1/2 BB (Lightest Beige Blonde) My hair was a level 7 1/2 to 8 with some reddish tones before coloring and finished with a Level 9 Soft Golden Blonde with subtle Beige tones - not too different from the result I get from 9 1/2 BB maybe a little more Golden so if you liked the result from 9 1/2BB or thought it was a bit too cool give this shade a try.

i would def not recommend this product. i have coloured my own hair for years, mostly using garnier or other loreal products, decided to try this even tho more expensive, never again! it most certainly didnt cover any grey, all it did was leave my hair feeling slimy & greasy. i followed instructions. dont use this product its horrid stuff didnt like anythig about it not giving it any rating, thats how strongly i feel

Not Rubbish, But Not The Best.
Ok, Loreal is quite renowned for it's hair products and cosmetics so I thought i'd give colour preference a try. I saw Gwen Stefani on the advertisements and i love her hair colour so decided to buy a box of it. Went for beige blonde colour. Don't get me wrong, the colour did turn out what it showed on the box, which is always a bonus, but i was dissapointed in a way having paid £7 and finding out that it's no better than hair dyes at the lower end of the market such as Clairol and Garnier.I wanted my hair to look more like a professional had done it. The colour has lasted very well, I dyed my hair at the end of June, 6-7 weeks later there's hardly any roots to be seen.
However one bad thing i have found with this product is that it leaves your hair very dry and not in that great condition. My mum has recently been commenting on my hair saying it looks 'straw like' which is very unlike her. My hair normally feels soft and shiny. I have tried using the conditioner treatments to overcome the problem and haven't really seen a difference at all to be honest!
To conclude-This product is just 'average' just another hair dye.

Messy, Leaves Hair Greasy
I used the Starry Night Blue/Black shade of this hair colour to top up the roots of my hair as I had already had my hair dyed blue/black at the hair salon but did not want to pay salon prices for just a top up. Ok, the price was good, just over £5 if I remember correctly but the dye was SO messy. It's difficult to put on (if you can find someone to help you that would be a good idea), the product is highly perfumed and so if you have asthma or suffer from allergies to strong scents then this would be something to bare in mind before purchase. Anyway, the product gets EVERYWHERE. Beware of getting even a little of this on your skin as it will stain and it ruined several good towels of mine. Then when I washed it for the first time, loads came out even though I used branded colour saver shampoo(it looked like a fountain pen had leaked all over my hands!) and again it stained the towels. For a dye which is supposed to be permenant I was NOT impressed. It has left my hair very greasy (i'm having to wash my hair every day with two shampoos) and I stopped using the conditioner as it made this problem worse. All hints of a blue tint have washed out. From now on I'll pay the extra and go to a salon. Really dissapointing

A Perfect Colour At Last! Loreal Preference Jesrey Light Beige Brown 6.13
I'm naturally a light medium ash brown colour and have been trying for longer than I can remember to find the perfect colour.....This is it!
No brassy red or orange tones but a few pearly beige tones that look as though I have paid an arm and a leg for highlights/lowlights.
I'm so thrilled. Thankyou Loreal!!!! :O)

After A Lot Of Thought I Decided To Go From A Medi
After a lot of thought I decided to go from a medium blonde to a red using L'oreal Recital 6.66 Babylon Intense Red. I bought 2 packets of the colour, costing £6 ish each, knowing as an ex hairdresser that the colour may not take on the ends. Used the first colour, washed it off and dried it roughly and my ends were a light pink so decided to put the other box of colour over the top just on the ends and leave it for a little longer. Washed the 2nd lot off and dried it again and the colour had literally not touched the ends! As it was 11.30 at night by this point I gave up and went to bed.
The next morning I went to Superdrug and picked up a packet of Schwarzkopf Pallette on a 2 for £5 offer and ran home to put it on! Put the colour just on the ends for 30 mins and it came out beautifully!!
The moral of this story the most expensive dye in the store is not always the best!!

I Have Short Blonde Hair And Decided To Dye My Hai
i have short blonde hair and decided to dye my hair red. i used this product and after leaving on for the reccomended time i then washed it off to find only my roots had been done and the rest of the hair was a salmon pink. i then went and bought a further dye just for the ends and even though it was darker it still had not worked. 6 dyes later my hair was the correct shade however then it washed out after 2 washes causing me to give up and spend £50 at a prfessional salon. at £7 a packet it would have been cheaper for me to go to a salon in the first place. i would never buy this again

I Used 6.3 Ultra Lightening Golden Brown. My Hair
I used 6.3 Ultra Lightening Golden Brown. My hair has never been dyed before and it was naturally a medium brown. I wanted a golden colour to my hair so got this. On the box it does say that it won't make your hair orange.
This turned my hair ORANGE!! It looked like orangutan ORANGE! I knew that to get rid of orange you need to apply an ash colour. Well I was too scared to use an ash colour from this range, so I used 'Nice N Easy' semi perm colour in 75 Light ash brown. I did call the Nice n Easy helpline before hand and was advised to use this colour and to leave it for 40 minutes instead of the 15 minutes which is advised on the box. Well this has worked, reduced the horrible orange/red tones in my hair and I have nice golden brown hair. I am NEVER EVER going to use Loreal Preference again!!
Q&A
Has Oslo hair colour changed name?
Would it be okay to use Santiago on bleached hair?
Using ANY haircolor over bleached hair is risky and the larger the difference between shades, the greater the risk. I would recommend a brown color filler or tinted protein filler be used before attempting to re-tint. A better choice might be EXCELLENCE CREME for better, longer-lasting coverage and less chance of off-tone fading. If you must have that shade be sure to use a good protein treatment several times to fill-in the hair. Good-Luck!
