This Is A Great Family Tent For Uk Camping. We St
This is a great family tent for UK camping. We started family camping in 2008, in a small 'starter' tent. It just couldn't cope with the awful weather of 2008 UK camping season. When it collapsed (again) on a hillside in Devon, and we moved into our friends' 2007 Hartford XXL (living in their tent for the rest of our holiday), our minds were made up. On the way home, we stopped off and bought a Hartford XL with the Gothic porch, (miles better than the older version); we were so impressed with Outwell's performance, stability, weatherproofness, and the size of the 'living room' space. We've also got the canopy, which is a real luxury if you have a pitch big enough. 2 drawbacks: the need to reach to floor level to open the front door zippers, and if you go to warmer climates, the light green colour of the fabric lets in an awful lot of heat during daytime, which can be a bit overpowering. Of course you can then make full use of the efficient vents, but still, i would buy this design in a dark colour if I had a choice again. Anyway - overall a brilliant family tent.
a darker colour would absorb more heat!! Did you not listen during your science lessons!

Plenty Of Space Inside, Had 6 Adults And 1 Teenage
Plenty of space inside, had 6 adults and 1 teenager playing cards. Easy to assemble and take down. Very durable in stormy weather as we found out in August. This year.
This is the second year in using tent, Folds down quite small for easy storage. excellent having two opening for exits when weather permitting.
I found this review very helpful because...I'm considering which tent to buy for UK camping holidays
This Is The Second Outwell Tent We Have Purchased,
This is the second Outwell tent we have purchased, the first one was the family dome plus, we loved it but made several observations that we knew would have to be met if we bought another tent. We had 6 wonderful years camping in the Family Dome but knew that if we were to have 11 days constant rain that we needed more space. The Hartford appears to have superseded the family dome tents, the equivalent of our old one being the Hartford L, so we've no bought the XL. The front and rear entry can make quite a difference. Outwell seem to be able to match Vango in terms of quality but they pip them to the post with their little extras.
I found this review very helpful because...I'm wondering which tent to buy for UK camping holidays - this one is very informative. Thankyou!
